It’s time to talk about Fall 2009 and runway shows at New York Fashion week that began Friday, February 13th.
Diane von Furstenberg presented her RTW Fall 2009 on February 15. This collection was quarrelsome with terrific real outfits and whimsical headgear, there were presented layers, and layers upon layers.
It’s about survival,” said designer von Furstenberg at her studio a few days before the catwalk show, adding that, for fall, her girl is “a nomad. Everywhere she goes, she fits in.”
One bold clothing item featured a plaid mohair coat, over a striped knit turtle neck, graphic and plaid mohair mini, tribal-print leggings, a almost omnipresent result that came in disguise, animal prints and fluorescent varieties, and added a recent, fierce feeling to the line-up.
Maybe people’s animal instinct would be shaked by the pairing of a snake chiffon blouse and a leopard cardigan but on their own…swagger.
Moreover, feminine dresses – leopard printed velvet, blue sequin will intone better without the camo printed and leather leggings.
A furry knit sweater tops a smooth grey shift with metal cutout – absolutely attractive.
The aforesaid hats were as nice as were the beaded shifts. Jackets and coats were executed in nice shapes: all kinds from wild tapestry jobs, to metallic tweed cocoons.
The kooky knit caps garlanded with pom-poms, an allusion to faux fur, which Diane von Furstenberg let flutter on hats, handbags.
And there was a lot of shining in sassy sequin shift dresses and the final liquid jersey gowns.
Diane von Furstenberg came with her admirers – husband Barry Diller, Anh Duong, Diane Sawyer, Bob Colacello, Fran Leibowitz and Diana Ross, and other.
