NYFW: Georges Chakra Fall 2009

As we know the New York Fashion Week, which opened on Friday, will showcase the collections of some 75 designers and is considered one of the most important fashion shows in the world.

Georges Chakra took his runway walks Fall 2009 on Saturday, 14th of February. And his collection impressed the audience pretty controversially.

The experienced Lebanese designer represented the collection which can hardly be called every day garb, but it was not ordinary either. It felt like you were seating at the fashion casting for the fantasy movie or alike.

He used plenty of glossy dresses in futuristic colors range from red to jet black and silver to hot fuchsia. Though the silhouette was stressed feminine as always in fact.

“It’s incredibly beautiful, over the top. This is a red carpet must have,” according to hip celebrity fashion commentator Esther Nash. “There was life to the garment. This is very young, something you would wear.”

A black butterfly emerges out of one; thick gray ribbons zigzag down another; a fuchsia taffeta coat dress commands attention with queenly ruff; and a black tulle top worn with trousers floats round shoulders.

“I would buy the little black dress with the plastic butterflies if I could afford it,” said Nash.

There wasn’t some extra fabulous about the hair do. The restrained-office-hair-do allowed fixing all the attention upon the glossy wardrobe.

Georges Chakra drew standing applause for the show. Fall 2009 is going to be in dark colors for the talented designer judging by his collection colors.

Hope the winter line 2009 will be lighter though the butterflies are acceptable every season.
