NYFW: Luca Luca – Fall 2009

New York Fashion Week continues to demonstrate us the most talented designers’ collections.

The next one to be discussed here is Melgoza for Luca Luca brand, whose collection has struck me with its refinement and sophistication.

The entire line is classy with its pencil skirts, strict-style dresses perfect for office wear, nice blouses, dark-colored trousers and beautiful evening and cocktail gowns.

The majority of pieces are really appropriate for wearing to office and formal parties. These garments will never become out-of-date due to their classical style.

Strong in character and feminine in look” is how the designer described the Luca Luca image, and he preferred to use an understated palette of charcoal and burgundy with jewel-tone teal. Nothing too light or too bright, everything is right to the most particular taste.

For the most part, the collection was quite richly adorned with luxurious embellishments, oversize cocktail jewelry, and (this is the first time for Melgoza) fur. Shoes were also very classic – black leather high-stiletto pumps with both open and closed toes.

I liked the collection for its femininity and high-class sophistication. I’d sure like to have a couple of these simple but so nice-looking garments in my wardrobe! What about you?
