One of main Spring 2009 Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week catwalk tendencies is definitely polka dot, though you probably don’t see it as often as you see stripes. Michael Kors’s September 10 runway show is one of the polka dot collections.

His sporty spring collection rotated around a white, blue, red and black color scheme, with random yellow throw ins. It’s not only about classic girls, like his previous collections, it turns to wives and romantic lovers this time.
Though polka dot of different kinds was widely presented in his collection, black and white stripes also made an appearance; mixed prints were interspersed with block color solids.
Kors offered madras sheath; tie-front polkadot; midriff silk secured in front with a white disk, a red-faced navy topper over sweater and trim khakis. He used red, white and blue bits all over his designs and refashioned a zip front track jacket but made it in silk, gabardine and even leather.
Dots were everywhere: black and ecru coin dot shantung origami dance dress, navy and crimson shantung malibu dot tunic and a yellow and white coin dot draped maillot, a yellow and white coin dot bra and a navy and white poplin pin dot cabana shirt.

The collection also presented oversized handbags, white wayfarer sunglasses, capri pants and cotton pullovers to create a yacht babe look.
Michael Kors’s catwalk show attracted such A-listers like actress Blake Lively from Gossip Girl, Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, Joy Bryant and Bette Midler.
