PFW: Collette Dinnigan Spring/Summer 2009/2010
This year Collette Dinnigan was able to create a more interesting collection for Sring-Summer 2009/2010 than she had done last season. The theme of the range was Alice in Wonderland.

As everyone else I’d expeted to see something really special, fairy-tale-like. To my huge disappointment the show started from black-and-white dresses. There was a little lace, tulle, rhynestones – the frocks in some way were very similar to the ones we saw in the previous collection by Dinnigan.

When the formal-tone parade ended we could enjoy quite other pieces, more elaborate and attention-catchy. The dresses were strapless and one-shouldered along with the ones of a more common style. Some were boldly colored, had floral prints, were ruffled and tiered.

After such a multicolored middle part it was a bit frustrating to return to the black-and-white pallete again. It would be better if the designer had invented a more impressive ending.
