PFW: Stella McCartney Spring/Summer 2010
The collection that Stella McCartney sent down the runway during the Paris Fashion Week has surprised me wth its simple forms and colors. The designer didn’t invent anything highly elaborated. On the contrary every outfit seemed to be too ordinary.

Well, probably it is justified as when spring and summer come we usually don’t think much about clothes, all we want is to enjoy the awakening of nature. And it’s much easier to do when you feel comfortable in the garments you wear.
I wanted to teach my customers not to be afraid of the simple stuff,” Stella said.

Beside the simple shapes there were very simple and restrained colors.
“Summer’s not about aggression,” the designer said backstage. And she obviously chose very unagressive hues – mostly pastels and for the evening there were red, blue, and orange rose.

The collection is very feminine with all those frills and peplums. But I can’t really say I like the line. It seems to me plain.
