PFW: Yves Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2010
This collection astonished me. I expected to see lots of classics: sophisticated dresses, austere suits, pencil skirts, luxury high-stilletto heels and suchlike. But my expectations turned to be absolutely wrong as the range was all about simplicity and even casualty.

Yes, there were a few pieces that made me impressed with their beauty and style but the rest didn’t seem so much appealing. Stiff fabrics didn’t lok like perfect for making dresses and skirts. And the strawberry pattern looked out-of-place. It was hard to find the link between separate outfits following one after the other.

“A natural and honest chic, an aesthetic paradigm of new minimalism” was the motif of the line Stefano Pilati created for Spring/Summer 2010. Though it was too much of minimalism in the collection. Even the colors were minimal, mostly black and white were used.

Some of the items looked very feminine though and would be great for coctail parties and even red carpet events, especially the black velvet strapless dress with a deep decolette.
