Ad campaigns that the fashion brands constantly release have a very specific goal. They all aim at either reminding or introducing to the numerous fans the saucy items of the coming season. And of course, the creative directors put a lot of effort into this exciting venture. Here they have a vast space to implement their imagination: you can see various types of campaigns that feature different locations and styles. Surely, it is a complex assignment to shoot the ads, since it involves a lot of actors. First you have to come up with the photographer who has enough experience in this field as well as possesses good portion of creativity and individualistic approach. Then you ought to choose the model (or even two) who will show off the stylish outfits. Finally, there is a stylist who will moderate the closet; a hairdresser and make-up stylist and many other important people. But before all these steps you need to decide on the theme of your campaign. Below are the two photoshoots directed by super famous and fashionable brands. Take a look at Resort 2014 campaigns of Prada and Chanel to choose the one which completed the above tasks the best.
Resort 2014 Ad Campaigns: Chanel & Prada
Prada tapped Anna Ewers, Amanda Murphy and Cameron Russell for the bright photos. The beauties pose agaisnt the messy background, lying at the couches and obviously enjoying the time. Which is very understandable: if I were surrounded by the fabulous pieces from the Italian designer, I would do exactly the same thing.
Steven Meisel lensed the adorable ads, managing to transfer all the luxury and grace of the outfits through the camera. I like how effortless and relaxed the models look. As if there is nothing in the world to worry about, the trio invites you to take this wondrous tour around the treasures of Prada and fall in deep love with the most magnificent features of it. The campaign appeared to be incredibly colorful and positive, creating a true resort mood. Looking at all these images it is quite easy to forget about December behind the windows and fall into a sweet dream about the sunny beach, gorgeous yacht and cool evening breeze.
Chanel fashion house decided to save some money and made a vey wise decision. Whereas other brands spend hours searching for a decent photographer who could catch with the concept and idea of the collection, the French label didn’t spent a signle minute. Karl Lagerfeld a.k.a the creative director himself shot Resort 2014 campaign. Doesn’t it reflect the path toward sustainable development? The only thing I am hoping for now is that the maestro donated the saved amount to some charity foundations instead of waisting it on his beloved pet.
Here you will also spot a trio: Ashleigh Good, Nadja Bender and Dalianah Arekion look striking in a series of black and white photos. The retro photoshoot looks extremely moderate, especially in contrast with Prada campaign. I am sure there will be a lot of people who will criticize as well as adore these particular ads. One might argue that it lacks color, whereas others, on the contrary, may advocate its elegant feature.
Prada Resort 2014 campaign and Chanel Cruise 2014 ads both look stunning. Now that you are aware of all the details about each of the photoshoots, it is only up to you to decide on the best campaign.
