Tips for tall and plus-size figure type

Being tall is good but what about being tall and plus size? It’s certainly a problem, especially with most of nice clothes created for thin girls only.

Despite the fact there are plenty of stores now which sell clothes for plus-size women, big girls still experience a lack of really beautiful garments for them.

However, with a little of imagination you can make even the worst-looking items attractive.

Before you start thinking of that I want to give you some advice on how to choose clothes for your body shape. When the piece fits well it is easier to make your look more impressive with some tiny things that add glamour and sophistication to your attire.

• First and foremost, clothing should fit well.
• Shoulder is likely to be your narrowest part, so it must be closely fitted.
• Black, navy, brown are good colors to hide your problem areas, but the color is wrong if it calls attention to your heaviness by being out of season. For instance, for winter choose darker tones.
• De-emphasize your heavy top by selecting simple, uncluttered styling for blouses, tops and jackets.
• Choose garments with vertical stripes for they tend to draw people’s eyes downwards and visually slims your outline.
• Hip or mid-thigh length jackets, duster coats, long cardigans look well on ladies of your body shape.
• Simple, soft draping, batwing or dolman sleeve effects, dark colors and tones work well.
• Opt for small and muted patterns.
• Wear belts. A belt will swallow in your waistline and make it appear slimmer. But don’t be crazy and squeeze yourself.

And of course there are things you have to avoid if you are bulky:

• Horizontal and Diagonal Stripes. If you’re a little extra on the belly, try to avoid horizontal and diagonal stripes.
• Too clinging garments.
• Loose clothing, as it makes one imagine all sort of unseen horrors beneath it.
• Front-pleated trousers, or pleated or dirndl skirts.
• Pockets, neck/collar details, ruffles, pleats, gathers, tucks, etc.
• Breast pockets.

With these simple tips you can do marvels with your appearance.
