Valentin Yudashkin’s line for spring-summer 2009
Moscow Fashion Week was held in Russian capital from October 22 to October 28. It is a semi-annual event that involves the presentation of prêt-a-porter clothes.
This time, 53 fashion houses unveiled their collections and more than 1500 journalists representing all the leading glossy magazines were present.
On October 22, Valentin Yudashkin, famous Russian fashion designer, launched Moscow Fashion Week with his new spring-summer 2009 collection titled “Beauty Ball”.
The collection appeared to be very feminine with its pastel tints, fluid fabrics and bows. Casual clothes, evening gowns, swimming costumes – everything looked stylish and elegant. The collection was a great mixture of exquisite taste and elevated style.
The first part of the show proved one more time that Yudashkin is a genuine master of creation.
The new collection is distinguished by airiness of materials used, gentle colours, freshness of images and bright accents.
Close-fitting silhouettes, snowy white and ivory skirts of complicated designs, high-waisted trousers, light blouses with airy bows and of course wide range of dresses: cocktail, knee-length, voluminous, embellished with flowers and stresses, were presented on the catwalk.
Yudashkin’s models were accessorized with original and flirty tablet-hats, wide waist belts, long gloves and sunglasses.
The second part of the show turned into a fairy tale in the modern world. The main characters from Russian musical “Beauty and the Beast” performed fragments from a story about love and faithfulness.
The last verses of the song say that beauty will triumph in the place where love reigns. Yudashkin chose the verse as a motto of his “Beauty Ball” collection.
Chic ball dresses of bright colours: passionate red, snowy white, mat golden, glossy black together with a tuxedo have appeared in my mind while I was watching the musical” says Valentin Yudashkin.
As a result, the colour gamut of couturier’s ball dresses includes dark blue and white, orange and dark green.
The show was a real success. Many Russian celebrities visited itб as well as Hollywood actress Denise Richards who had been invited to Russia as a special guest.
Valentin Yudashkin confessed that despite the fact he was one of those who had originated the Fashion week in Moscow, he still felt very excited about each show he had to present.
