New York Fashion Week has seen plenty of terrific collections by today already. And to be sincere I just have no physical opportunity to tell you about every collection I like. So, I have to choose carefully and the next designer I’d like to tell you about is Katy Stern for Venexiana.
The collection is just fabulous! There is no economic downturn seen in Katy Stern’s fashion world. Luxurious and the most opulent fabrics combined with a perfect designer’s command of technical technique do marvels.
There is a great diversity of styles in the collection. Pretty different types of garments were presented: from chiffon summer-like dresses to warm items trimmed with fur.
The standouts we saw were: body-skimming evening gowns, adorned with hand beading and metallic sequins, an innovative use of mink and fox jackets and collars paired with elegant suiting, and couture-like cocktail dresses fit for a princess.
The colors preferred by Katy Stern are: sophisticated black, rich gold, bright red, tender pink, and various tones of soft pastels that have been seldom used in fall collections of other couturiers.
Accessories presented are rare but those which we see look very womanly and right to the place. The most often used adornment is a tiara.
It came to us from the past but is still considered to be very chic and feminine.
And it was clear that the tiara was an incredibly appropriate accessory at the show, which featured an overwhelming amount of fur and rhinestones.
