I’ve received many comments about my height (4’9), including being called a ‘Member of the Lollipop Guild.’ I never resented it, as I was deeply involved in sports wherein petiteness is considered an asset–I made pocketmoney as a teenager training naughty ponies that were too small for a regular height adult to ride, as well as being very active in gymnastics. I ended up marrying a man who is my ‘better 3/4ths’ at 6’6–the we never think about the huge gap in our heights unless a photographer is taking our picture–makes it tricky! People will love you no matter what height you are and will always be cruel about something in a person.

I had my baby siser say to me “too bad your short, you could have been a model” Too many people thru out my life have come up and said.
What the hell does that mean? Even if I was tall does not mean I would become a model. It make me feel like my life must not even be worth anything if I am not tall enough to be a model!
Our society sucks donkey ball!!!!!!!!!!!

i’m 15 and just five feet. poeple say its cute to be petit and i guess it is but buying pants is impossible. i figure i have a 28 inch leg line and there just isn’t pants that short. if i lose ten punds i might fit the 12′s at old navy kids but still, they’d probably be too long and who wants pink stiching and flowers on thier jeans

I can understand these tips are pretty good for someone around the 5’2 mark.Some of us havent reached that height like take me i am 18 and a little over 4’9 i tend to say 4’10 to round it up.I cant always buy adult clothes has the length is too long and it makes the pants look funny when altered.I look around the junior section and find some good deals and they are cheaper.When i measure myself in the shop to she what age clothes i usually come up with aged 10/11.My size feet are quite small has well and i find the sizes always run out in the childrens shoes.I have to buy a size 1/2 and it always seems popular.I remember hunting for a pair of shoes and there was a lady looking for her daughters shoe size i found the pair i was after and then found out it was the last one.The other lady asked if there was anymore and she was told no that i had them.The lady looked abit stern and said OH WHAT THAT SHORT GIRL.I turned around and the mother and daughter just laughed.The mother was quite rude saying to her daughter WELL LEAST YOU WONT BE THAT SHORT LOVE.
I just rushed out of the shop and went home all upset.I told my mum who explainned that i will encounter lots of rude people and they only do so because they are the ones jealous not me.So that helps.

I am a short guy just like my dad,i am 21 years old, when we go out we look like twins not father and son.We are both both 4’10 tall not gracing the 5’0 mark.My mum is 5’4 and my younger sister is 5’6.While growing up i had to endure other family members saying how Justine who is a year younger than me catching me up in height.I used to get quite sad has i was already shorter than alot of my friends and when i was 15 i was only 4’7.I topped out at 4’10 when i was 17 and never managed another inch after that.While i didnt mind being dad’s height i didnt like the fact that Justine was getting taller every year from age 12.To me she seemed like there was no stopping her.I was about 16 when she grew taller i thought it was massive but she was about 3 ins taller then.Justine finished growing at 17 years old that is when she topped out at 5’6 even outgrowing mum.She never seemed sensitive to me when i was called names and sometimes joined in with her school friends.I didnt mind the tallness of her but she seemed to get stronger i remember not matching her in strength when we had an arm wrestling match she just pushed it down easily.
I tend to go clothes shopping with dad has we find it easier.My dad only likes looking in the adult section whereas i dont mind so much in the junior section.I can get a pair of pants aged 15 and they fit.My dad would rather get a pair of trousers short legged and still have 3/4 inches cut off.We do need to have more tips and guides for short guys that there isnt nothing out there for us.I mean we arent midgets just short guys.Please help us…..

If only i could take these tips on board i would love to.I am 18 and rather a short person my height is 4’7 i have never managed to buy adult clothes.My mum usually alters tham for me when i buy something nice.My shoe size is a size 2 and i really have to look hard for a pair.I have on occassions bought a pair that are 2 sizes bigger and stuffed tissue in them so they fit and they have 3 inches on them.The most annoying thing is looking so young alot of the younger children come up to me and dont notice straight away.I like to go shopping with my mum has she reaches for the higher items for me.We tend to spend most of the time in the juniors section and i get strange looks.A girl caught me checking my height at the height chart and burst out laughing at me.The age i came up to was 10 years old.She thought she was funny and measured herself at age 14 and she was 3 ins taller than me.There should be shops for really short woman and guys i mean it cant be that hard has we wouldnt need has much material has a taller person.Come On and help us out.

I see that these tips are mainly for woman what about the shorter guys we still have problems has well.I feel that the clothes shops dont really help us much.

Being short i can take some of these hints on board.Before i used to always shop in the junior section has my height is only 4’9.Then there was a new shop opened up in town and it was for the shorter adults.This is both woman and guys.So i dont have to go to the kids shop anymore.The good thing is that the clothes are fairly cheap and the shop owner says she can do so because not much material is being used for them.I spoke to a guy and he was 5’2 he walked in and out just like that he was able to pick up a suit and it didnt even need altering.The guy was so chuffed.
