Prada tapped models Sasha Pivovarova, Raquel Zimmermann, Vanessa Axente, Eva Herzigova, Maartje Verhoef, Irene Hiemstra, Kirsten Owen, Saskia de Brauw, Sung Hee, Amber Valletta, and Irina Kravchenko to star in its Spring 2013 campaign lensed by Steven Meisel.
Each model is clad in Prada’s Spring 2013 collection that is all about floral theme. The five-six petal flower in white and red is the focus of the collection. It appears on the clothes, outerwear, handbags and even sunglasses.
The collection in general bears an Orient style appeal with its kimono-like satin shawls and intricately constructed dresses. There are also strange fur tops and coats paired with high rise short pants.
The footwear is another story as Prada is known for creating some very eccentric kicks. There are not the most flattering pointed flats that were also spotted at Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs, and the big platform shoes and sock boots on big chunky heels that look quite gaga, if you ask me.
The handbags that come in a variety of styles are also decorated with the flower as well as with the fur and chain handles while the eyewear features flowers almost all over the frame.
See the collection pieces and outfits in a studio photoshoot featuring Sasha Pivovarova in a fur top and satin ensemble, Saskia de Brauw in a monochrome fur coat, and Raquel Zimmermann in a flower-printed dress.
The models also wear Prada’s satin and fur shrugs, coats, dresses and top skirt ensembles. They also display Prada bags in classic designs and colors as well as the ones designed in a floral theme.
