They are usually not the most fashionable people, with exceptions, when on duty but the Glee cast strikes poses at Vogue photoshoot sporting some fashionable and stylish outfits. The photo shows the most part of the cast, which is clad in black, white, red color palette with Lea Michele in the middle wearing a monochrome mini dress that quite stands out color-wise. Glee cast has also been invited to be spokespeople for this year’s Fashion’s Night Out, a huge fashion event. But they also make confessions about their own style and experience with fashion.
Chris Colfer (character: stylish and fashion-forward Kurt) admits that before starting Glee he hasn’t even heard of Marc Jacobs and did all his shopping in the local Target.
Now, as Kurt, I get to wear all these amazing things, by people whose names I can’t even pronounce!
Lea Michele (Character: aspiring diva Rachel) said that “I would never wear a sweater with an animal face!” and admitted to a crush on Oscar de la Renta. Ryan Murphy, the man behind Glee has told Vogue that:
When I met Lea, she was only sort of interested in clothes—but in the last two years she’s become a red-carpet star. I think what happened is Lea went to an event, and someone said, ‘Oh, you look pretty.’ It was an interesting moment for her.
Kevin McHale (character: nerdy-looking Artie) is a real fashionisto though. As Chris Colfer puts it: “Whenever Kevin sees me in an outfit, he feels the fabric and looks at the label, then goes and buys it!”.
McHale himself admitted to an obsession over kilt by Marc Jacobs:
I wore the hell out of it last year, and I had it on after our show at Radio City. When I came out, the crowd went from ‘Ooooh!’ to ‘What are you wearing?’
