Marc Jacobs couldn’t find the better person to advertise his asylum-inspired Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection. Helena Bonham Carter, who has worked up the reputation of a kooky actress and a style icon in the most ridiculous sense of this phrase, has done a great job posing for Jacobs’ campaign pics which don’t exactly scream fashion but definitely attract attention.
The first photo that leaked into the Internet featured Helena Bonham Carter upside down and splay-legged. It caused a real stir in the industry – something Marc Jacobs had predicted and expected. The second pic the designer has released showed the actress with spots on her face and her tongue stuck out pretending she is ill with the measles. And today the third photograph appeared, and this time Helena Bonham Carter played a dog that was panting and begging.
Talking about her campaign images for Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2011 collection Helena Bonham Carter said:
It was a triumph! It made me laugh because I thought it was a joke when I found out. But when I saw the article, I thought, “Oh, the photos they’ve chosen are as bad as the ones they print when I’m worst dressed.””
