Marion Cotillard Vogue US July 2010

They say every French woman is special and maybe that’s true. Just remember Edith Piaf, Coco Chanel and modern actress Marion Cotillard. Each of these ladies has a talent we can’t deny. And each is beautiful in her own way. Marion Cotillard graces July 2010 issue of Vogue US to prove us once again she is fabulous.

The film star wears Dior on the cover and lots of Nina Ricci, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton and Aquilano.Rimondi for other photos. She looks gorgeous but not only because of clothing. Her charisma makes her different. And her bright blue eyes.

In the interview Marion Cotillard gave to Vogue US she talked about her performance in La Vien en Rose and the inspiration she found for her character in Nine.

Here are some of the highlights:

On vacationing in the Amazon after shooting La Vien en Rose: “It was there that I found myself articulating why Piaf was still living inside me. She had been abandoned as a child; her greatest fear was to be alone. Now I didn’t want to abandon her. I finally was able to say, ‘She’s been dead for 40 years; it’s OK.’”

On her locavorism: “Fragile fruit has to travel by air; too big a carbon footprint.”

On studying theater acting growing up: “As a teenager, I didn’t want to be me; I wanted to be many different people. Maybe I realized that they all lived inside me and that if I managed to connect with them, they would become aspects of me.”

On playing in the Expressionist-Surrealist band Yodelice fronted by composer Mazim Nucci: “I play the bass guitar, keyboard, and tambourine–I’m their one-woman band and all-purpose maid. It’s pretty refreshing to be in a situation where the spotlight is on someone else.”

It should be “La VIE En Rose”.
