Emma Watson is one of the most talented actresses of the modern time. And despite she’s starred in Harry Potter series only she’s proved to the whole world she is good at what she’s doing. But this girl can do other things as well as acting. For instance, she seems to have feeling for designing. Her People Tree collections have been a success since the beginning. And now the results of her collaboration with Alberta Ferretti have been unveiled. The eco-friendly collection named Pure Threads is said to be inspired by Miss Watson’s fashion idol, actress Jane Birkin.
The Pure Threads capsule collection includes five Seventies-style pieces, all made from environmentally-friendly materials. Even the packages for the items are eco-friendly.
Commenting on the issue Emma Watson said:
Eco-fashion is very important to me. I think it’s important to be conscious of what we are buying and where it comes from.”
Talking about how she felt when Italian designer Alberta Ferretti approached her with the idea to create a collection together the actress said:
I have worn [Alberta Ferretti's] dresses at many red carpet events so I was absolutely thrilled when she contacted me for this eco-friendly project. I immediately said yes and we started working together on an organic capsule clothing line inspired by natural fabrics and feminine shapes. ‘I was very much involved in the design process and I really liked the organic raw materials that Alberta sourced. In particular the lace that I’ve used in all the pieces.”
Alberta Ferretti confessed she also felt happy that Emma Watson agreed for the collaboration:
I’m grateful Emma accepted this creative partnership that can contribute to fashion and to the health of the planet. She’s an actress I’ve followed since her early days. I like her freshness, her spontaneity and simplicity. She is intelligent, with a strong personality, a young, modern girl of today but aware of social issues at the same time and very rigorous.”
All the items from Alberta Ferretti & Emma Watson’s Pure Threads collection have been manufactured in Italy. Prices start at £220 for the denim shorts, rising to £700 for an embroidered black dress. The collection is available at Alberta Ferretti‘s website.
