It was quite a new approach to get to know our designers closer and of course it was done by Vogue. Who else could bring such an innovation? Vogue.com had gathered the questions to the famous fashion duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana from numerous fans and then published the answers in April 2011 issue of Vogue UK. Although we don’t have the full interview yet, we do have photos to show you and can cite the designers’ words concerning the use of the Internet and Twitter in their work.

The article comprising the interview with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana published in Vogue UK April 2011 is aptly named ‘You asked, they answered…’.
So here is the only quotation we have so far from the interview:
Q: “You acknowledge the power of the internet and have won numerous awards for online activities – you have put bloggers on the front row of your shows and launched a blog, the online magazine Swide.com, and have the D&G mobile channel – but do you actually like this phenomenon? Are you nostalgic for the older days in fashion, where everything was a lot more exclusive?” Natalie Theodosi, London
A: SG: “We need to have roots and memory, but you need the new – blogging, Twitter and much more as well as the establishment media. It’s two different perspectives.”
DD: “Its like a cuisine – you can find Japanese, Chinese, and Turkish but when you open a new reataurant, it does not kill off the others. They can co-exist.”
