I always wondered how Karl Lagerfeld managed to do so many things: designing collections for fashion brands, taking photographs for magazines and ad campaigns, organizing fashion shows, reading, living a normal human life… And now I know. It’s Rick Owens who has opened up the curtain and told us how it all works for a designer. In an interview with Diane Pernet he has revealed that he needs nothing else in his life except for work.

He explained:
People say “how can you do so many collections?” and stuff, it’s not that hard, I just don’t do anything else. I don’t socialize, really, I don’t go to parties, I don’t do anything, I just work, but that’s my favorite thing, so in the end that’s fine.”
Well, I think living for work is great… for work. You do get the results you want, even more than that. But life just passes and you don’t socialize, build relationships, have family. Isn’t that what every person wants but often tries to hide and looks for reasons to justify?
