While it’s almost winter now we can all start dreaming about a vacation season. And the four covers of V Magazine are of great help in it. The pages feature eight models (Candice Swanepoel, Joan Smalls, Daphne Groeneveld, Saskia de Brauw, Sui He and Hanaa Ben Abdesslem, Bambi Northwood-Blyth and Lindsey Wixson) posing with two apiece dressed ready for having fun somewhere on a beach. Styled by Carine Roitfeld the beauties wear bright and colorful clothing, dramatic makeup and accessories that remind us of those sunny days spent at the seaside.
V Magazine Winter 2011 issue is the first in two years that features models instead of celebrities. Carine Roitfeld, who was the one to choose the girls, explained:
It’s a big moment of change in fashion. In some cases, you feel like it’s the end of an era. I have been feeling this with cover subjects, and especially models. These eight girls are unique, not one is like the other. Candice is the only blonde and blue-eyed of this new generation of supermodels. Joan is black, Sui He is Asian, Hanaa is North African. It’s their diversity that makes each of them, to me, truly modern. They bring a new energy to fashion.”
