Fashion can be cruel. Sometimes they throw you out just because you look too natural, you have a voluptuous figure and feel proud of it. This happened to plenty of really great models, including Crystal Renn, Coco Rocha and even Heidi Klum. The 38-year-old beauty, who does the May 2012 issue of Allure Magazine, claims she never walked the runway because designers considered her to be too curvy and busty.
Heidi said:
I never did fashion shows—not in Paris or Berlin or even in New York City. I tried but no one would book me. I was too curvy and too busty and a little too short. And I was a little bit self-conscious about it. But I was by no means heavy, I just—well, you have hips and boobs, and that’s it. Haute couture, you don’t really see girls with big boobs. And I always wanted first to be a model. So I had to say, ‘OK, you’re going to find other things to do in this industry, or it’s maybe not my industry.”
Heidi Klum, who all her life was involved in the fashion industry, says she has never done any surgery to alter her looks, even now approaching to her 40s the models refuses to go under knife and criticizes those who do.
She commented:
I’m proud to be able to say, in this day and age, I haven’t done anything. Everyone has a view of what’s not pretty and [surgery] just doesn’t look pretty to me. Especially when I see it on really young girls. I don’t want to name names but its like, Wow, I remember you five years ago, looking to me so beautiful, and now its like … who is this person?”
Speaking about her marriage and divorce she doesn’t sound that confident though. She admits that she and Seal might make up in future:
I don’t know. Time will tell. I’m still in the eye of the storm now, and its all a little bit crazy. But sometimes you have to be apart in order to figure it out.”
And she also told Allure Magazine that she has no regrets about anything that both of them had:
If I had to go back in time and say, ‘I should have changed this or that,’. No, I don’t resent anything that ever happened. Things just turn out the way they turn out. I had dreams of how I wanted things to be and planned for things and, as we all know today, they don’t always turn out as you dreamt them in your head. Because sometimes life throws you a curveball and then you just figure it out and deal with it, but my dream always was that. To have the perfect family and have lots of children and a beautiful garden and trampolines and swings and things.”
By the way, as you have already noticed, Heidi Klum poses nude for one of the images from Allure Magazine. She does show some signs of ageing but doesn’t she look great anyway?
