Kate Upton’s career seems to go from strength to strength as she lands on the cover of another glam magazine. This time the model takes over Elle’s September issue looking amazing in a hot red dress from Lanvin. Upton talks people’s reaction to her after her firs Sports Illustrated cover and other difficulties that come from being a model.
Kate Upton Covers Elle US’ September 2013 Issue
Photographed by Carter Smith Kate wears designs from Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Dolce & Gabbana, her blonde hair styled in retro waves. She tells Elle that:
After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I felt terrible about myself for a solid month. Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something. I’m not a toy, I’m a human. I’m not here to be used. I am a grown woman, and you need to figure your s**t out.
It didn’t stop the model from doing another Sports Illustrated spread though but she has also established herself as a top model gracing covers and pages of such major fashion publications as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar as well as Carine Roitfield’s CR Fashion Book.
She also shines light on treatment of models although it’s not something we didn’t know or guess about.
People deal with models like they are children. They think they can pull one over on you. It’s actually funny. I’m always like, I’m about to pull something on you, and you’re so focused on thinking I’m dumb you’re not even going to know.
Upton also told Elle about an incident when someone took a cross from her thinking she wasn’t religious. She said it really affected her and she wants to have it with her all the time.
I like the fact that she spoke up about stuff no one prefers to talk about especially when doing a cover for a major magazine like Elle. What do you think about the cover and Kate Upton’s quotes?
