If you think fashion has a little to do with sports, you are very wrong. Fashion is about everything. How would you rock a super short skimming dress, if there was no room for workouts in your schedule? Moreover, there are a number of trends that take their origin from certain kinds of sports. And how about different award ceremonies that take place throughout the world to recognize achievements in sport? You don’t really think that guests and nominees show up in sneakers and sweatpants, do you? Well, if you thought so, it is time to change your mind now. Let’s have a look at the best dressed of the ESPY Awards 2013 and see how fashion and sports interact with each other.
ESPY Awards 2013: Best Red Carpet Looks
ESPY Awards stands for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award and has been presented since 1993. This time it was held at the Nokia Theatre, Los Anjeles on July 17, 2013 and hosted by Jon Hamm, the American actor. As usual, arriving guests and nominees posed at the red carpet to show off their fabulous outfits. I, personally, love this kind of events, for this is a great chance to see what celebrities wear and get some ideas and inspiration.
Selena Gomez looks lovely no matter what she dons. This time she sported a gorgeous Dolce & Gabbana frock. Lace embellished with rhinestones and red color – sounds very appealing, doesn’t it? I like the length of her dress: short enough to let us enjoy a beautiful view of her slim tanned legs and long enough to cover what is not supposed to be revealed. A lady like her does not need any awkward moments to be in the limelight. Selena is adored and admired all over the world not only for her talent and stunning looks, but also for her ability to keep up her reputation. The songstress completed the look with black Casadei shoes and Neil Lane jewelry.
Maria Sharapova totally shined at the awards ceremony. The famous tennis player again proved the meaning of the Russian beauty phrase and demonstrated an excellent sense of fashion. Sleeveless J. Mendel dress with a black tulle panel at the hem sits perfectly on Maria’s body. Black Casadei ankle strap pumps and Irene Neuwirth earrings match this elegant outfit and all together create quite a stunning look. Seems like Sharapova follows fashion blogs along with the tennis ones.
Olivia Wilde rocked a saucy leather crop top and a checkered pencil skirt all by A.L.C. Black and red is always a winning combination, especially if it someone as charming and pretty as Olivia who wears it. She was definitely eager to demonstrate her tight abs, which I am sure everyone had a chance to spot. The American actress opted for black Jerome C. Rousseau sandals and a charcoal rectangular clutch. Her outfit is very minimalistic yet stylish and sophisticated. Less is more might be her style credo!
Victoria’s Secret Angel, Marisa Miller, is the one who has to squeeze an hour or two of physical exercises into her daily planner. She obviously does and, as a result, shows off her enticing body in alluring outfits. What she donned to ESPY Awards 2013 Ceremony is not an exception. A blue thigh-skimming dress by Catherine Malandrino made it clear that the model is in good shape. Sheer stripe panels reveal her midriff and legs and add some spiciness to the look. Marisa goes for classic and pairs her frock with nude Christian Louboutin open-toe pumps. Such a laconic outfit it is!
