Wedding dress is something we, girls, dream about since an early age. And when the right time comes nobody can ruin the drama of searching, trying on and fitting the important attire. So, it looks really ridiculous when a designer offers wearing lingerie as the outwear piece on your big day. Kaviar Gauche, Berlin-based brand, unveiled a wedding dress collection yesterday sending one of their models down the runway in something that I wouldn’t even call underwear. It is what DailyMail named as a set of ‘diminutive sections of fabric joined together with a central strip’.
The outfit looked more than weird. Who would want to wear it during the wedding ceremony? I would probably understand if it were suggested for the privacy of a wedding night. No… actually I wouldn’t. And I am far from being a sanctimonious person.
The two designers behind the dress, Alexandra Fischer-Röhler and Johanna Kühl, are known for extravagant shows they have organized since founding label Kaviar Gauche in 2003. To demonstrate their handbag collection for 2009/2010 fashion season the design duo asked models to walk down the catwalk nearly nude, with only accessories strategically placed to cover their modesty.
