Giles Deacon swimwear line for New Look

Giles Deacon released his first ever swimwear line for UK high-street store New Look on June 8. The designer has gone outside the call of duty exploring the new collection – lounging by Los Angeles pools in plenty.

It was all designed while on a research trip to Los Angeles – by the pool at the Chateau Marmont,” Deacon revealed in an interview with Vogue.com,

For me it’s not so much Eighties-inspired but more a mix of clean lines and graphic boldness with a touch of playfulness.”

Design-led swimwear is a must for this season – not only in the pool but for poolside bar action,” Deacon, whose collections in advance have been sported by stars as Agyness Deyn and Drew Barrymore.

This season it would be great to see Agyness Deyn, Lily Allen, Beth Ditto and January Jones sporting it on the beach!”

The swimsuit range consists of beach handbags, kaftans and flip-flops as well as bikinis and swimwear and all in an immensely offbeat 1980s electro pop vibe.

Key pieces include a black and white graphic print one-shoulder swimsuit, black wet-look bikini, many of sandals and neon pink prints.
