How to choose a swimsuit: big bust

With the hot season approaching you’ve probably started thinking about the new swimsuit to surprise others on the beach.

Of course you want to look smart and sexy but feel a bit unaware of what to choose. This series of posts will tell you about the swimwear perfect for each body shape. You’ll have a chance to read what specialists think looks best on you.

My first article will tell you about the swimwear for petite girls with big bust.

Big bust is something you have to be proud of, as it is a dream of many others who don’t have it. But in case you are a petite woman with a thin waist your breast will make the whole figure look disproportioned.

To keep the impression of balance, avoid swimsuits made of thin non-elastic fabric with thin shoulder straps, with bra cups without bones, and light colors in the upper part of your swimsuit.

Opt for a swimsuit with underwire support and by all means with wide shoulder straps.

The styles good for your figure type are the following: wrap over swimsuits, both one or two-piece, they create a diagonal line on the chest and draw away attention to the lower part: swimsuits with dark monochromatic bodice that has a high or square-cut neck, square neckline optically makes the breast smaller; tankinis that provide the whole coverage for your bust.

The color theme for your swimwear is: darker top and lighter-colored bottom with patterns (dark top will visually reduce the size of your breasts).

Vertical strips will work well to minimize a full chest as well and make the width of your thighs and waist less evident.

Wear pareo of a similar or the same color. It should be very low on your thighs.

And the last advice – make sure the swimsuit you’ve chosen offers your bust ample support to resist drooping or sagging.

When the swimsuit is chosen correctly breast looks fabulous and men’s looks will accompany you wherever you go.

i have a full bust and narrow thighs and you know it’s really hard to find a swimsuit for my figure. Thank you for the tips but i don’t think they will do much to overcome the difficulties i experience wile selecting the item..

I wear a F cup bra and found a great bikini and tankini at Sonsie swimwear – it’s an online store that makes swimwear especially for women with bigger boobs.

If you are petite with big breasts, you should absolutely not worry about being “disproportionate.” There is no need to dress in patterns, colors or styles that minimize the appearance of your breasts. Believe you me, most people will appreciate your body! Draw the eye towards your bust with a pushup style bra top, preferably cut jus above your nipples for maximum cleavage display while maintaining full support. Or feel free to wear a string triangle style top (against almost all the bad advice for small busty girls) to allow your breasts to move more naturaly (and alluringly) and to enable your nipples to show through. And I say ignore the advice to buy separate tops and bottoms. Buy a bikini that fits your petite bottom and hips perfectly (possibly a small or x-small if that’s you) and keep the matching top. The advantage of the triangle style is that it’s really one size fits all. Your bigger bust will look fabulous in the x-small or small top that matches your bottoms. Just position the triangles to cover your nipples and you’ll be fine.

Push up bras and just covering nipples is a horrible idea for girls with big breats, unless you want to look like a porn star.

as a size 8 with DD breasts i find it hard to keep my look classy by covering my breats enough and often end up with size 14 bikini tops and size 8 bottoms.

it is important to keep a sense of class and preferrably not have your breasts fall out when you swim. if you are petite with a big bust, buy seperates, zimmerman and jets do gorgeous seperates.

I think there are really two separate questions you need to answer: 1) what looks good on you, and 2) how sexy or modest you’d like to appear. There are a lot more suits in the first category than in the second, but everything that makes it into the second must look good on you.

In terms of what looks good on a girl with a larger bust, alot depends on how the breasts look when naked. If you’re fortunate enough to have big breasts that are relatively firm and have a great shape when topless, then you have a lot more options on what looks good since you don’t require additional support. In this case, I agree that triangle string tops can look great on a large bust (for example, kelly brook wears them often). If your breasts look much better in a bra, then you should opt for a top with better support. Once you’ve sorted that out, you can figure out how much or how little you want to show. Some may prefer to dress down their assets whilst others may take the approach of showing off their best features. We don’t discourage girls with great legs from dressing to accentuate them. Neither should we busty gals feel badly for dressing to accentuate our breasts–especially at the beach. Like Ash, I buy a separate top that’s sized bigger than my bottom for days I want to dress down, but I also always buy the matching top for days I want to look drop dead sexy.

I don’t nescessarily think there’s a right or wrong to choosing a swimsuit for women with full busts. These are nice tips for someone who may feel ashamed of their bust but personally, it’s what the women feels comfortable in. Like for me, I feel comfortable showing off my bust a little. Not overly, like to the point I’m wearing almost nothing. But just a little to show people I like my body the way it is. My friend, on the other hand, who has the same problem, would like these handy tips for covering up her bust and making it appear smaller. It’s all up to how the woman feels and what makes her happy. But that’s just me.

Ohhhhh…these tips are so useful for me!i used to buy sone bikini without underwires and strong strips and my breasts look weired on them!i thought that i can never look good on bikini.but after reading these tips,i think it’s time to buy a new swimming suit that will perfectly fit me!oh my beaches and oceans, wait for me!^.^

I agree with Anon. Why do small girls with boobs need to “fix” a “problem?” My friend with long thin legs dresses to show them off. My other friend with an unbeliveably firm bubble but LIVES in tight pants. I went to a yoga class with her where she was wearing skin tight leggings with no panties. You could practially see her ass. The girls complemented her and the guy behind her had to constantly adjust his shorts to try to hide his “growing” problem. (He couldn’t!) I’m thin with firm FF cups. I want to be able to dress for the beach to show off my best features just like my friends. I don’t need tips to hide them.

I agree with Anon. Why should small girls with big boobs hide our figures? My friend with “disproportionately” long, thin legs wears tons of miniskirts. Another friend with an incredibly tight bubble butt and thin waist practically lives in tight pants. I went to a yoga class with her wearing painted on leggings and no panties. You could clearly see her butt. The (female) instructor complemented her figure and the poor guy behind her all class had to constantly adjust his shorts to hide his “growing” problem (he couldn’t!).

I’m thin with very firm, natural F cup boobs. I want a bikini that shows them to best effect. If I wanted to hide them I’d wear a sweater! Why he double standard?

This was very helpful, but I have no idea where to find the perfect swimsuit for my big bust. I live in South-Africa and can’t seem to find the perfect swimsuit for my body. Any help??

To the previous poster, we’d need a little more info to help. How big are your boobs? What’s your bra size? And what are the rest of your measurements? Do you want a one piece or a bikini? And would you like to emphasize your boobs or something else?
