Choosing plus-size swimwear may seem very difficult. And it IS difficult when you go to a usual department store. You can find plenty of bikinis for slim girls but only a few that can be worn by you.

This irritates and makes you feel unhappy.

Don’t be upset! Everything’s easy now when there are so many on-line stores offering a wide range of swimming costumes for bigger girls. The swimwear you can find there is diverse and attractive, sometimes even unique. And it is often not much expensive!

When choosing a swimsuit for your curvy figure you certainly want to look skinner. And you can actually if you follow simple rules that create optical illusion.

Remember that wearing swimwear that is too small or too tight shows out the bulges much more and makes them seem even bigger than they are.

A plump woman should have a swimsuit that fits her figure. Probably, you should buy a swimwear that is one size larger than your regular dress size.

An overweight woman looks better in a one-piece swimsuit of deep subdued hues made with lusterless fiber. A middle length cut on thighs is a good choice.

An insert that drags away the belly, will work like a corset and shape the midriff. The swimsuit should also have bar cups with bones and high content of lycra (however, the fiber should not be lustrous). Opt for a swimsuit with lots of vertical details (patterns, seams), wide shoulder straps and a rather low décolleté.

Things to avoid

Stay away from bikini , narrow shoulder straps, and light lustrous fibers, very low or very high cuts on thighs, very high neck cuts, and with bra cups without bones. A wide sunhat can help you balance your figure.

Swimwear for Women with Short Neck or Double Chin

If you have a short neck or a double chin, you better avoid with high neck cuts.

These models attract much attention to the part of the body you want to hide. What will look best on you is: a swimsuit with a deep V-shaped cut or without shoulder straps (if your bust is not very large). Wear pareo tied either on the chest or on the waist but not on the neck.

Swimwear for Women with Plump Arms

Plump arms can hardly be hidden when you wear a swimsuit but you can draw away the attention from the problem arms and shift it to the chest area.

Select a swimsuit much decorated with details or a print on the chest. You can opt for a light, transparent blouse as well or a top that matches the color of the swimsuit with a 3∕4 sleeve length.

Swimwear for Women with Wide Hips

If your problem is wide hips, you should avoid light-colored, shiny fabrics, belts-straps, and transversal print in the lower area of the swimsuit. Make sure you don’t put extra emphasis on the waist.

A one-piece swimsuit with insets that tighten the belly will work well for you. You may want to select a swimsuit with a bright top (tint, print) and a smooth bottom or with a vertical print, preferably with the shoulder straps wide-apart.

A good choice will be a swimsuit with a skirt but in case your shoulders are narrow stay away from of this style.
