Jennifer Morris Fall 2013 Collection

The new Fall/Winter 2013 lookbook is very extravagant, to say the least: it includes little cute dresses, shapeless knee-length dresses and, of course, outerwear with distinguishable embellishments. The collection seems to avoid showing off any feminine curves, focusing on rectangular shapes and intriguing fabric combinations. It seems like Jennifer Morris is not afraid to experiment with different textures as well.

The lookbook features model Jenny Fisher with her fancy 1960′s hairstyle by Linnea Nordberg and makeup by Laura Lawson. Caught on lenses by photographer Eamonn McCabe, the lookbook catches the essence of the collection with its retro vibe in contemporary allure.

Jennifer Morris has studied Fashion Design at Edinburgh College of Art, and after that London College of Fashion, where she received her MA in Fashion Design and Technology in 2011. Her secret embroidery technique is hidden in her collaboration with an Indian manufacturer, from whom she learned about embroidery by hand. Moreover, fabric choices can be explained by her fascination with “tufting”. Tufting is her original technique of fusing different fabrics that sometimes don’t quite fit into one clothing piece. The technique has evolved later on with special embroidery embellishment.

Although having very few collections, starting from her MA collection for Spring/Summer 2012 to the latest, Jennifer Morris seems to progress with her aspirations and fashion ideas. The present lookbook shows her experimenting nature displaying her evolving style.

Martha Hunt In Miu Miu Eyewear Spring 2013 Ad Campaign

Miu Miu presents another ad campaign for its Spring 2013 collection but this time the focus is on eyewear. The brand tapped models Doutzen Kroes, Martha Hunt and Bette Franke to star in the campaign. The eyewear is increadible as it’s not only classy but also fashion-forward. The pair that impressed us during the Spring 2013 Fashion Week with a bottomless cat eye-shaped frame is featured in black and white modeled by Kroes and Franke.

Other styles are no less beautiful and trendy. There is a cat eye shape featured in different designs and a classy black frame for those who wear prescription glasses.

One of the styles features a turquoise vintage cat eye frame with two-tone lenses that look simply elegant and cool. Another cat eye sunglasses variation is faceted brown shades that feature metallic elements.

The ad campaign was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The ads feature the same style as brand’s Spring 2013 campaign. The photographer duo also shot a short official campaign film featuring more models including Arizona Muse, Adriana Lima, and Malgosia Bela.

Miu Miu’s Spring 2013 collection is all about elengant but relaxed silhouettes, denim, silks, and colorful fur shoulder shrugs. There are also silk crop tops paired with long slim pencil skirts that together create amazing look that is both strict and relaxed.

Miu Miu’s sister brand Prada recently announced a writing contest and is currently accepting essays on the topic “What are the realities that our eyes give back to us? And how are these realities filtered through lenses?” The winners will receive a €5,000 prize and their works will be published in an online e-book.

Laetitia Casta In Chanel Eyewear Spring 2013 Ad Campaign

Laetitia Casta looks super chic as she fronts Chanel Eyewear Spring 2013 campaign lensed by Karl Lagerfeld. Photographed in black and white the, as usual, the campaign looks refined as the eyewear itself. Classic shapes and simple designs make for elegant eyeglasses and shades to pair with classic pencil skirts and pearls.

The image created for the campaign echoes brand’s past ads – sleeked side-parted hair, subtle makeup and fabric flower accessories. Though other accessories add more interest to these photos, we must admit. In one of the pictures Casta wears leather straps on her neck and head decorated with small Chanel logos while in another two clear hats embroidered with a flower.

Replacing Linda Evangelista as the face of Chanel eyewear Laetitia Casta adds another campaign to her impressive model CV. Late last year French actress fronted H&M lingerie campaign and has scored Reed Krakoff Spring 2013 ad campaign as well as appeared in a number of fashion publications. Besides her modeling career, though she keeps acting with three movies produced this year.

Chanel, in turn, or rather Karl Lagerfeld keeps with various interesting projects. One of those is a short film about Coco Chanel starring Keira Knightley as legendary designer to mark 100th anniversary of the first Chanel boutique.

Surprisingly, the Coco Chanel sunglasses didn’t make it to ads but were featured in brand’s Spring 2013 lookbook starring model Stef van der Laan. Oh well, still those clear wide-brimmed hats do the trick while the sleek and chic sunglasses look absolutely wearable and versatile.

There are as usual frames for ladies who wear eyeglasses. Medium classic frames are given modern makeover with textured designs. Shades feature bolder frames though still looking elegant and versatile.

“Take Me To Rio” Swimwear By Beach Bunny

Hot 27-year old Russian beauty, Irina Shayk, has been called up to participate in the new Summer 2013 ad campaign that features new stunning swimwear collection. Beach Bunny is a renowned swimwear brand that offers “to feel like a goddess” to every woman who wears their swimsuits. Well, the recent Brazil-inspired collection certainly conveys this message.

While it is still hard to take eyes off the perfect forms of Irina Shayk, we still see that the collection features mostly bikini-type swimwear in various patterns and colors. Certainly this collection not only highlights curves of a super feminine body, it doesn’t leave much to imagination either. While all of the swimwear pieces are separates, you could create a versatile look when pairing different bottoms with different tops.

The colors and patterns in Summer 2013 collection were rather flamboyant, showing lots of emotion: navy blue zigzags paired with cute pink side belts, abstract floral prints in easy over the neck top, classy black bikini with golden straps, and of course animal prints like leopard and snakeskin. Although the collection has not been released yet, we can already feel our hearts beating in waiting for these gorgeous swimsuits. Truly, with Take me to Rio swimsuit collection any woman can feel like a goddess summoned to the Brazilian shores in celebration of her beauty.

Anorexia Awareness Campaign by Brazilian Modeling Agency

This ad campaign is among the most powerful messages to spread the word about the devastating eating disorder, Anorexia. The idea being quite simple translates millions of scientific articles into simple realization of how dangerous the disorder is by means of visual impact. The illustrations by Edson Rosa, Samuel Marinho that mimic typical fashion sketches are being contrasted to the images of famous models, whose bodies were airbrushed to show obvious signs of starvation.

Anorexia stays a threat to girls and young women whose self-image is still being developed and who take their inspiration from numerous Zero-sized models in fashion world. In society that is obsessed with visual information, this kind of ad campaign hits right to the point, reflecting the real similarities between the girls suffering from Anorexia and the sketches made by fashion designers. Despite being gruesome exaggerations of the real feminine bodies, the models altered by computer programs do resemble the actual runway models we have seen earlier during Fashion Weeks.

Despite the positive intention of the campaign, there is also a threat lurking in the shadows. The provocative images might be triggering the self-image of the girls that are already suffering from this disorder and promote their desire to stay this way. Certainly fashion industry apart from promoting high art, also has negative connotations that drive young girls to be suffering to appear size 0 without realization of the high price that is paid, sometimes even with their lives. Beyonce Confirmed as New Face of H&M

Beyonce has been quite popular in the recent months, being featured in various editorials, such as Vogue for May and Shape for April editions, as well as many different shows and ad campaigns. Now, it is confirmed that she has become the new face for H&M brand. Her appearance is starting from a new summer swimwear collection. As mentioned by singer herself:

“I’ve always liked H&M’s focus on fun affordable fashion. I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements – fire, water, earth and wind,” said Knowles. “It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial.”

The collection’s ad campaign was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in the Bahamas earlier this year. We see her fit body reclining on beach sun lounger and other various poses, featuring the bright and vibrant beachwear pieces. As mentioned by singer, she has put her own ideas into creation of this collection.

The billboard images of the star will be introduced as “Beyoncé as Mrs Carter in H&M” referring to the future world tour with the same name. It must also be noted that Beyonce has returned back to shape quite rapidly after giving birth to her child. Of course the secrets to her fit body is diet and exercising. The delicate feminine beauty of Charlotte Casiraghi was captured by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for the latest Gucci campaign of “Forever Now” series. She appears very gentle, wearing the floral prints, which consist of a bouquet from 37 flower varieties. The original bouquet was created by Italian illustrator Vittorio Accornero with a “mesmerizing variety of blooms, from anemones to poppies, from ranunculi to iris, mixed with berries and butterflies, wasps, grasshoppers and dragonflies”.

The first “Forever Now” campaign appeared in 2010, which coincided with the 90′s anniversary of Gucci. Back then, the campaign was shot in classy black and white pictures. However, Flora prints have been reimagined with a help of Frida Giannini, who brought it back in 2005. And as pointed out by Giannnini herself this campaign also has a personal meaning for her, which she was willing to share:

“Today, Flora has become a symbol of the Gucci woman’s effortless fusion of tradition and contemporary poise,” as mentioned by the house’s creative director, Frida Giannini. “The print holds special meaning to me – I first discovered the scarf when my mother and grandmother would wear theirs during my childhood in the Seventies”.

The third installment of “Forever Now” by Gucci with incredibly gorgeous Charlotte Casiraghi was rumored to be out globally in newspapers and fashion magazine ads starting from March.

Sophie Dahl Turns Fashion Designer With Brora

A thirty-six year-old has tried herself in several spheres including writing but now she’s exploring another side of fashion. Sophie Dahl has decided to start her own fashion line, which will be showcased in the Brora newest collection, out on April 15. The collection is rather small, consisting of only thirteen pieces, but as mentioned by Dahl herself, these are the pieces she herself would love to wear:

I imagined it as the-morning-after-the night-before – a woman on an island after a party, walking home with her shoes in her hands,” Dahl told us. “Everything around her quite wild and undone, but she’s wearing these quintessentially British-feeling colour tones and patterns. The picture in my head was one of rainy English summers and festivals, being tarted-up and having your make-up running everywhere – that kind of vibe.

This unexpected collaboration coincides with the brand’s 20th anniversary. The clothing line offers few pieces, but most of them have that distinct British allure to them. The collection consists of Marilyn marl jumper, tunic, pants, Cashmere shawl collar cardigan, silk embroidered camisole, and English rose maxi skirt. Among other clothes, there is Dahl’s favorite tea dress in small floral print and neutral color palette.

As you may know, Sophie Dahl was discovered in 1997, during a catwalk of Lainey Keogh’s first major show during London Fashion Week for Autumn 1997, where she was spotted by Vogue stylist Isabella Blow. Since then, her modeling career started to develop quite rapidly. She has appeared in ad campaigns of such renowned brands as Versace, Alexander McQueen, Patrick Cox, Pringle, Cashmere, Godiva, Banana Republic, and Gap. Now, she apparently wants to be back in fashion industry by presenting her own collection for Brora.
