Victoria’s Secret couldn’t complete the year without teasing its fans with new lingerie photoshoots and a few really nice items from the upcoming collections. A number of photographs have already been released with Miranda Kerr, Adriana Lima, Lindsay Ellingson and Doutzen Kroes modeling the sexy pieces.

All the Angels look fantastic posing in erotic lingerie ensembles. The sets come in a great variety of colors and prints, trimmed with lace and adorned with embroidery. Pieces showcased include: bras and panties in plenty of styles, garter belts, camisoles, negligees, corsets, bustiers, etc.

There are lots of issues in our world that cause controversies, and plenty of those relate to the fashion industry. Using a younger model to promote women’s clothing, wearing fur, or even smoking a cigarette are all considered to be potentially risky. Donna Karan’s Spring 2012 campaign with Adriana Lima seemed to me pretty normal. But some people noticed something racist in it. Ridiculous!

Adriana Lima looks gorgeous and fierce on images for Donna Karan Spring 2012 ad campaign which was inspired by the designer’s charitable trip to Haiti right after the earthquake that shook the island last year. The controversy arises from one of the three photos where the model poses with two kids on the left. Kids are said to be local Haitians, so their skin is naturally dark. Lima, being Brazilian, has lighter skin. And according to some people the contrast in skin color has clear racist undertones.

One commenter wrote:

Am I the only one getting racist/imperialistic vibes from the s
econd image? I know the inspiration is Haiti but it’s unsettling imo.”

Another commented:

While Adriana looks fierce and maybe a bit too fierce the other people in the picture looks sort of scared. I get from the picture a not so sweet relationships between the white girl and the black people.”

For me all these comments are total nonsense. People just want to find something to nag at. What do you think?

With the 2011 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show just around the corner Victoria’s Secret has been releasing more and more images from their Fall 2011 lingerie collection. Teasing us with the pictures of Angels posing in their common underwear pieces they make our anticipation growing to see the grand show with items much more amazing!

So far photos with Candice Swanepoel, Miranda Kerr, Chanel Iman, and Adriana Lima have been released. All the models look sexy and gorgeous wearing bras trimmed with lace and decorated with bows and crystals, panties with funny prints, super short babydolls leaving very little to imagination and other beautiful lingerie items by Victoria’s Secret.

Speaking about the new strategy Elle editor Robbie Myers said:

We felt it was time to show the sexy side of fashion again, enlisting four of the runway’s super seductive models – Miranda Kerr, Chanel Iman, Adriana Lima, and Doutzen Kroes. These covers harken to what made Elle Elle: Shot outside, drenched in sunlight, color, and of course accessories, the women look right back at you with all the personal and sexual confidence in the world.”

Photographed by Alexei Hay the models look beautiful and stylish. It’s even difficult to say whose cover is lovelier. I definitely like Chanel Iman’s image. She’s so fresh and youthful, and her smile is the most charming.

Doutzen Kroes’ cover is fabulous, too. The swimsuit and the green cardigan on the blue-sky background make the model look perfect. (More about Doutzen Kroes)

Miranda Kerr (Check out Miranda Kerr’s profile), who is reported to be the next VS Fantasy Bra wearer, is the girl with the greater number of accessories. Her photo in a colorful swimsuit, and orange cap and shoes is really stylish.

The sexiest Elle pictures are with Adriana Lima (Adriana Lima’s photo gallery). This girl simply oozes sex appeal. Dressed in Chanel on the cover and Dolce & Gabbana inside the editorial the Angel looks fantastic.

Blumarine’s leopard print looks very sexy on Adriana Lima (See Adriana Lima’s photo gallery). And the dress with a drop cutout at the cleavage is the most attractive.

Lacy dresses from Blumarine Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection deserve no less praise. Sexy minis come in simple design but look fantastic.

What I personally like Adriana Lima for is her naturalness. She isn’t stick thin, her smile is sincere and cute, and when she poses for camera she preserves her individuality no matter what character she tries to play. So you might understand why I hated Adriana’s photoshoot for Vogue Brazil February 2011 issue that much. Adriana seemed to be still the same girl I used to admire but her eyes were different. To be more precise, her eyelashes changed. Of course they looked amazing making eyes bigger and more open. However, these eyelashes played the bad trick either. Adriana wasn’t that normal girl anymore. She was a doll, a puppet, with no real expression that excited.

Nevertheless I have to confess I loved the pictorial in Vogue Brazil February 2011 with Adriana Lima wearing evening dresses. She truly belonged to that atmosphere, atmosphere of chic and glamour.

My favorite item is the lacy black-and-leopard bra that Victoria’s Secret Angel, Adriana Lima (Know all about Adriana), is wearing on this picture. Love it!

Miranda Kerr has already published the first photograph of her son Flynn on her personal blog. The baby looks really cute.

Miranda wrote about how it felt to be parents with her husband Orlando Bloom:

We are so happy and are enjoying our time together as a family. He is our little ray of sunshine.”

Talking about labour Miranda said:

He weighed 9lb 12 ounces. I gave birth to him naturally; without any pain medication and it was a long, arduous and difficult labour, but Orlando was with me the whole time supporting and guiding me through it. I could not have done it without him.”

Just a couple of weeks after Miranda gave birth to her first child, Doutzen Kroes also had a baby, and also a son. The boy who was born yesterday, on January 21, in Amsterdam was named Phyllon. He weighed in at 8 lbs.

Doutzen commented on her joy:

We’re in love with him! Can’t describe this feeling! Phyllon (pronounce: Fillen) is in our life!”

Plenty of gorgeous models, including Victoria’s Secret Angels Adriana Lima (who opened the show), Alessandra Ambrosio, Chanel Iman and others appeared on the catwalk showing off daring but so attractive designs and accessories.
In the audience lots of famous people watched the fantastic 2010 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Carine Roitfeld, Giovanna Battaglia, Alexander Wang, Zac Posen, Kate Lanphear, Julia Restoin Roitfeld all were there.

Some models walked the runway for Victoria’s Secret for the first time: Lais Ribeiro, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Lily Donaldson, and Heloise Guerin among those. But despite this fact none of them felt embarrassed to demonstrate their fabulous bodies.
