Here are trends for fall 2008 and winter 2009:

Cocoon

The cocoon look interesting though they aren’t new for us. Last year we saw quite many trapeze pyramid shapes. This year they are no longer popular and have transformed into more shapely cocoons. The hemlines and sleeves trimmed with fur or velvet make the silhouette look unusual and stylish.

Cocoon Coats Fall 2008

A-line

A-line are becoming more and more popular among women of fashion as they look pretty feminine. These have skirts that fall from softly controlled, gathered fullness, like these below.

A-line coats

Fur Trimming

Many that were shown on the runways were trimmed with fur. Fashion designers are using fur along hemlines, on collars, hoods, cuffs and also as decorative trims to open-front . A coat trimmed with fur always looks chic and gorgeous!

Winter White Coat

White is always perfect if you are slim. And if you have details of embellishment or embroidery of the same coloration it inevitably looks terrific. White on white, cream on cream, taupe on taupe, black on black always creates an expensive look.

Leather & Fur Clothes

Leather and fur are among the looks of autumn 2008. Leather was used not only in but in , biker and skinny trousers.

Leather coats

There were a lot of fur at the catwalk. Some of them were cut with precision. However, many designers used simple silhouettes to which drew attention to the material itself.

Satin garments

It’s not just fur or leather that are fashionable materials this winter, but also satin and satinised fabrics. Designers created collections in both bold primary and secondary colours.

Satin fabrics of electric bright and super sleek neutral colours were popular on the runways.

Satin organza coats

Amongst bright warm colours, tomato red, teal and fuchsia and bright magenta were used to attract your attention this fall.

Colourful Bright

Bright colour is developing into a fashion trend in itself. There are so many colourful and cheerful colours on the catwalks this Autumn 2008.

bright coats

Key colours for autumn and winter include plenty of berry tones: pink, purple, aubergine blues, all kinds of red, magenta, rosy, claret, maroon, blackberry and puce.

These tints will be trendy for long as they look cute, feminine and youthful.

Military Style

Military trend is considered to be classic. Uniform makers love it very much as it instantly knocks some shape into the wearer, makes the wearer stand up straight, and gives the individual a better bearing to face the world.

military coats

If you purchase a coat of this style be sure it will be in fashion again and again.

Well, it’s time to buy a winter coat but before doing that check that you are wisely adding a classic to your wardrobe rather than slavishly following the very latest fashion trend. Fashion is good when trends fit you well. Keeping that in mind choose a coat that flatters your body shape and plays up your good points!

Here are the tips to help you choose scarves for the Autumn 2008.

Orange scarf

It is early fall now, but it’s still rather hot. It seems no is need at the moment. However, that’s a great mistake! Scarves have no peculiar seasons to be worn!

They are the most versatile of all pieces of clothes. They add color and style to any outfit and can change the look of an ensemble almost immediately! Stores bring out various types of scarves for every season and weather type.

Pleated scarf

A lot of new fall fashions have recently appeared in the shops, but, without the cooler temperatures, a lot of these designs are hard to wear.

You can add transitional pieces to your wardrobe during this time of year; it’s a nice way to look quite appropriately for autumn, not too summery or too heavy.

Lindsey Lohan pink scarf

For a long time the has been considered just as an accompaniment to a heavy coat. Everything is changing and now we have it as a solo fashion item. Keeping that in mind, let’s speak about different textures, colors, and ways in which you can wear the .

Texture is very important. In summer, late spring and early hot fall it is essential to choose light textures such as silk or chiffon.

With the first signs of the fall you should switch to the in a linen and cotton blend, as well as in silk to not look too summery, but at the same time to feel comfortable. These options are great for this time of year.

Blue scarf

Color is also of great importance for this transitional time. You are still wearing a few of your lighter and brighter colored summer pieces, but are starting to incorporate the darker fall items into your wardrobe. This fall some of the “neutral” colors are the most popular.

“Neutral” now includes colors that are bold and can be worn with either black or brown. These can be a royal blue, a cool silver, raspberry pink, violet or dark green. These colors must definitely be in your wardrobe this season.

Jennifer Aniston scarf

The most complicated thing about scarves is the way to wear them. There are numerous ways to wear a , making it a very versatile accessory.

The greatest option and the most conservative way of wearing a is to wrap it around your neck but it is Okay if you are a little less willing to try the other looks.

It is still very much in style to drape the long or short around the neck.

Hilary Duff in tolani super silk mauve scarf

Wear a large around your shoulders as a shawl. If you really feel like “tying one on” try tying a silk around your hips. Just by tying a around your hips, like a belt, you can make your waist look smaller.

You can achieve this look very easily by folding a long oblong into the desired width, draping it around your hips and positioning it as a sash.

Chiffon scarf green pink dot

Adjust it as you like. Let it hang down asymmetrically drawing the eye downward to produce a smaller looking waist. Another option is to wear the around the waist as a belt.

This looks great in both fabrics. You can wear the as a top or try wearing the as a top over another top to add color to your attire.

You can wrap the a couple times around your neck and tie the ends into a knot to the side. Or you can even use the like a head wrap or head band to keep your hair out of your eyes.

Be creative with your tying and have fun trying out the many different ways to wear your fashion scarves.

Tips to buying scarves

Find scarves that go well with more than one outfit. One way to do this is to find a patterned that has a few colors in it, picking up the color of one outfit and the other in the same !

Balenciaga

Or, find two or three patterned scarves that each pick up the color of the outfit. However, that’s not all you’ll want. You’ll also want to find designer scarves that are vivid colors that draw out the color of your eyes or hair!

Fall/Winter 2008 designer collections have presented us with some new tendencies. One of the ever new trends is, of course, classic. Classic never gets old. Designers can rediscover it every new season and it will anyway look totally irresistible and beautiful. Details add new chic and charm but generally don’t radically change the tendencies.

So classic style hits the balance between extravagance and casual style, it might be a starting point for some designers and a stumbling block for others. Classic makes you follow its rules but is at the same time flexible enough to absorb brand new tendencies. So, shortly, classic never gets old.

So as for main autumn/winter 2008-2009 tendencies, they were presented during Milan, London and Paris Fashion Weeks earlier this year, and the tendencies surely include classic style with retro chic and charm of the ‘60s.

Classic Chanel Fall Autumn Winter 2008-2009

Valentino Fall Autumn - Winter 2008 2009

’s consummate mastery to create high fashion has always been praised. This fall the fashion house sticks to the 1960s classic using bright colors and elegant feminine style. Some of the and suits were decorated with really big buttons of some matching color. The collection was well balanced in its reference to form and content and was filled with genuine spirit, though some said the show missed famous ’s red garments.

Valentino Fall Autumn - Winter 2008 2009

Fall/Winter 2008 classic is harmony of volume and slender lines. One can see it in every cloth item presented at runway shows. Trousers are part of the tendency. They can be made superslim like leggings or treggings or bell-bottomed high-waisted ones. Elegance is what actually matters.

Elegance reins this fall and winter. Even in power dressing, which is back on the fashion agenda this season. No scaffold like shoulder pads or block colour suits, power dressing gets to be more feminine, aesthetic and even sexy this time around. Subtly structured suits, tailored that accentuate the female form, bold jewellery and the return of dressing up is the look for this season’s woman in control.
