Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #7: Lace dresses. Lace has been a trend since last spring but it doesn’t lose its popularity in Spring/ Summer 2012. Lace has become more delicate though. Erdem, Preen, Oscar de la Renta, Bebe and other designers and brands used lace in their ranges.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #8: White dresses. Like in every warm season white dresses are among favorites during Spring/ Summer 2012. They come in different fabrics and styles but always look lovely.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #9: Peplums. Just like lace peplums are not new in vogue. They have been with us for a couple of seasons and will stay for Spring/ Summer 2012. Peplums have become bigger and bolder and now come on both casual and evening dresses. Versace peplums are long and flat. Badgley Mischka, Alexander McQueen and Jason Wu made more voluminous peplums. And Rodarte peplums are very puffy.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Dress Trend #10: Frills. Spring/ Summer 2012 collections have many dresses with frills and pleats. While some look neat and classy others are huge and eye-catching.

Blake Lively wore a daring Marchesa dress to the celebration of Gossip Girl 100 episode. The dress which exposed a lot of flesh also featured interesting tassel elements which more or less covered the girl’s modesty. She finished the look with golden shoes and beautiful earrings.

Leighton Meester arrived in a more traditional dress to the celebration of Gossip Girl 100 episode. The strapless Balmain creation was of lovely ivory color and featured waterfall hemline. Leighton complemented her dress with glitzy sandals.

Michelle Trachtenberg looked chic in her black jumpsuit which she teamed with a pair of stylish shoes, clutch and eye-catching jewelry.

Young actress Chloe Moretz appeared at the event to support the Gossip Girl actors. She looked pretty in an unusual Stella McCartney dress.

Kaylee DeFer went for a black dress to attend the celebration of Gossip Girl 100 episode. She accessorized with a green clutch, leopard shoes, gold earrings and red lipstick.

Kelly Rutherford looked very elegant in a demure silver dress and shoes of matching color.

Here are some of the best and not as good outfits from the Vogue’s ten best-dressed list of this week. We chose 5 outfits from the list with most and least number of votes as well as thrown in some interesting looks. Above you see the most voted look so far by Zoe Saldana. It is a good casual look, effortless yet stylish.

The second most voted look is by Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge who wore an outfit from Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2011 collection for an official visit, which is actually my favorite from the list. The nautical theme, clean and sharp lines always look great and stylish together. And I really like Kate Middleton, she has this amazing smile and impression as a person.

Another interesting outfit in this week’s Vogue’s ten best-dressed list is from Solange Knowles. Solange has paired bright orange paisley Opening Ceremony pants with a sleek white Balmain top, Vintage Panama hat, Ralph Lauren shoes and some accessories. The only trouble I have with this outfit is the top that shows off the bra ruining the look.

Charlize Theron’s outfit is the third most voted one. She wears some classic items such as trench-like jacket from Burberry and black pointed shoes from Stella McCartney. Theron has paired them with more casual things, Alexander McQueen semi-sheer shirt and Current Elliott jeans.

One of the least voted outfits is from Claire Danes in white L’Wren Scott dress and Christian Louboutin nude heels. The outfit looks simple even though the dress has a shimmery texture. I still would add more details.

Balmain Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection is almost too shiny with all those glitzy pants, dazzling jackets, and mirror-encrusted dresses. Though Balmain is known for its dazzling ready-to-wear the collection has too much of glitter and needs a bit more solid texture to nicely balance out all the sparkling stuff. There are some basic items though but these are too made of glossy fabric. Nevertheless there are some great pieces in Balmain Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection I want to show you.

Sweater glitzy dresses are great party wear. They feature interesting patterns, high square and boat necks. One such particular dress features only one sleeve and a strap apart from it the dresses look lovely and I especially like the mirror-encrusted silver dress featured in Vogue on Lea Michele and Charlotte Casiraghi.

Balmain blouses glitzy and not also catch attention with their both classy and chic designs. Plain white tops and skinny pants look great in combination with glittery pants, jackets, and vests. Speaking of jackets no matter the glitter madness some of them look quite stylish and bold.

I have mixed feeling about side slit tops though. I guess they’d make pretty good party wear combined with those skinny pants and bold jackets. There are also cuffed capri pants that go well with knee-high boots , tight-fitting jumpsuits, which I’m not fan of, and fur shoulder pads in Balmain Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection. All in all the collection is not too bad, there are some really eye catchy pieces that can be used for putting some great outfits together.

A close-up is extremely beautiful and appealing while the spread features Charlotte Casiraghi wearing a Balmain mirror-encrusted dress also sported by Lea Michele in American Vogue, and outfits by such designers as Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Gucci, Isabel Marant and others.

Interesting facts about Charlotte Casiraghi – she is a granddaughter of Grace Kelly, she edits Ever Manifesto, her own eco fashion magazine, she is often featured in best-dressed lists and is known for her distinctive style. Charlotte Casiraghi is well known for her equestrian career so Gucci made her an official equestrian ambassador and the brand’s Frida Giannini creates her exclusive equestrian outfits. She will be wearing them during 2011 Global Champions Tour.

Kim Kardashian opted for a tight-fitting black lace gown to wear at the 2011 Glamour Womens Awards which she complemented with a pair of long Lorraine Schwartz earrings, several bracelets, and a huge engagement ring. The corseted dress accentuated Kim’s famous bottom perfectly.

Among other celebrities who had to fly from the US to London to attend the 2011 Glamour Womens Awards were: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kristen Stewart. Rosie looked very feminine and stylish in a nude Stella McCartney dress and Christian Louboutin shoes. By the way, the Transformers-3 star was awarded with EDITOR’S SPECIAL AWARD yesterday evening.

Kristen Stewart went for her favorite designer again. The Twilight saga: Eclipse actress wore a modest Balmain dress which showed off her slim figure. She didn’t choose to wear any accessories as usual.

Kristen Stewart looked glowing at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards when she received her award for BEST FEMALE PERFORMANCE. The actress wore a very flattering Balmain dress adorned with hundreds of pins and a pair of classy black shoes.

Robert Pattinson was honored with BEST MALE PERFORMANCE award at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. Robert doesn’t seem to have been choosing his red carpet attire for long. He wore a black suit, plaid shirt and white undershirt.

Kristen Stewart together with her boyfriend Robert Pattinson were also presented with an award for BEST KISS at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. It was their kiss, not hers with Taylor Lautner that was named the best (though I liked the latter more!). However, Robert decided it was unfair to leave Taylor without any memories about the event, so he approached to his co-star and gave him a passionate kiss. Most likely this kiss landed on Taylor’s lips rather than a cheek.))))

By the way, Taylor shocked the public with his boots. Can’t he afford a new pair?

The last award received by Twilight actors at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards was for BEST FIGHT. Robert Pattinson, Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel shared it. Bryce covered her growing baby bump with J. Crew dress.

Nikki Reed didn’t win anything at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards but surprised her fans with an engagement ring on her finger. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star wore a Heather dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, and Loree Rodkin jewels.

Blake Lively, who looked mesmerizing in a blue Michael Kors dress, was among presenters at the ceremony. She shared the stage with her Green Lantern co-star Ryan Reynolds. Blake and Ryan presented the award for Best Kiss to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’s Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Leighton Meester arrived at 2011 MTV Movie Awards in a sparkling Balmain dress, Pierre Hardy shoes, and Bulgari jewels. She also carried a Paco Rabane bag in her hands. Leighton had been nominated for Best Villain for her role in The Roommate but lost to Tom Felton from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Katie Cassidy was neither presenter nor nominee at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, but she didn’t lose her chance to walk the red carpet together with other actors. Katie wore a lovely Catherine Malandrino dress and Jimmy Choo heels.

Jessica Szohr, who was nominated for the Best Scared-as-S**t performance for her work in Piranha 3D, didn’t impress with her fashion choice at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. She opted for a strange-looking Stacey Bendet jumpsuit.

The 29-year-old Jessica Alba was accompanied by co-star Danny Trejo. The couple smiled and talked about the film. Jessica said working with Lindsay Lohan, who played a wannabe model in the film, was great.

She said:

“Lindsay is so good in the movie, and I can’t wait for her to see it,” Jess shared. “It’s awesome. She’s great. I’m very proud.”
