The rock star Courtney Love, who was once married to Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain, made the shock acknowledgment in the January 2009 issue of British Elle magazine.

She said:

Baby, if I could get a gastric band I would!

I’ve heard it’s a lot of vomiting and a pain in the ass, but it’s still easier than a diet.

I did go to see a Hollywood doctor about it. I wasn’t desperate, I just knew I had to do something. He said no.

I might have been fat, but I wasn’t that fat. I tried lipo on my stomach after that. It was horrible and it didn’t work.’

During the interview, she talks about family, fashion.

She also talked about Russel Brand:

Look, I swear that Russell Brand and me are just really good friends. I don’t want to have sex with him. I actually have a very satisfactory sexual life, thank you very much.’

Love said about her 16-year-old daughter Frances Bean, fathered by Cobain:

My daughter knows I did drugs in my first trimester of pregnancy.

She weighed 7lb 6oz when she was born and she was healthy.

We were excellent parents and I say that despite pretty much always having an edge on.

Frances bonded very well with her father, at least in the first year and a half of her life.’

Beyonce is wearing a dark dress, and the wind is playing with her hair. She’s looking really romantic and anticipating something beautiful and wonderful.

She’s leaning forwards and seems she only needs to make a step to reach something she’s long wanted to get. She’s got so many goals ahead of her to reach.
The cover is elegantly black and white with V standing out in bright red.

I like her nails. They look beautiful as well as stylish.

The MTV Europe Music Awards 2008 took place on November 6, 2008 in Liverpool, Britain at the Echo Arena.

Katy Perry hosted the show.

She flaunted several funny and various styles during the ceremony. I Kissed a Girl songstress made 12 costume changes at 2-hour time allotment.

On the red carpet she prefered to wear scary Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Fall 2008 blue dress with pair of yellow pumps. The scary was the eye detail that decorated popping out of her chest.

She took Leiber Strawberry Cupcake clutch which cost $4,295.

Celebrity sense of style cast doubt. Most of the dresses celebrities wore on teh ceremony were terrible!

The singer Beyonce Knowles arrived at the EMA red carpet dressed in a Gareth Pugh Spring 2009 black dress, with gold Giuseppe Zanotti heels awith gold metal gloves.

Super hottie Beyoncé Knowles teamed up with her designer mom Tina to launch a new collection from their House of Dereon line. The collection was presented at Bloomingdale on Tuesday night in NY.

The current collection is said to be inspired by Beyoncé’s role as Etta James in the upcoming Cadillac Records movie, out this December. Fans who came to buy a dress from the collection also received an autographed copy of the Cadillac Records soundtrack that’s to be released December, 2nd.

The gowns of the line range in price from $300-$500 and are on sale in Bloomingdale’s, Neuman Marcus and Nordstrom. The collection’s tagline is “Couture. Kick. Soul.” and it’s described as representing the spirits of three generations of Knowles women.

House of Dereon was launched in 2006 as a pret-a-porter fashion line with the name deriving from Beyoncé’s grandmother’s name, Agnez Dereon.

Must-Have Accessory:

I’m not dressed unless I have earrings on, like big hoops. I’ve always worn big earrings. Off the red carpet, I don’t really feel comfortable with many rings and bracelets on. I love earrings though.”

Obsession with Chanel:

I am obsessed with vintage Chanel jewelry. I once bought all the Chanel pieces that were on display at an antiques store in New York.

Favorite Designers:

Alexander McQueen and Jean Paul Gaultier are two designers I love right now. Their clothes are feminine, sexy and modern. I just went to the Giuseppe Zanotti showroom, and he had the most spectacular shoes. It was like being in a candy store—I was obsessed with every shoe! Right now, I love anything with a high platform.”

Style Icons:

Charlize Theron is always beautiful and feminine. I love her couture looks and dramatic silhouette. Halle Berry is elegant and sophisticated. I love that in the seventies Cher and Diana Ross looked like superstars and never played it safe. When they were onstage, they gave you drama—and I love drama.”

Pre-Superstar Style:

Growing up, I was a tomboy. I refused to carry a purse and wouldn’t wear a dress. That was the eighties and it was all about the hip-hop influence—baggy jeans and big shirts. [Her mother, Tina Knowles] hated it! But then I started singing and ended up watching all of the footage of the Supremes and Tina Turner. And I thought to myself, ‘They’re so beautiful. I want to be like them.’”

Off-Camera Style:

I’m a lot more conservative in my personal life. But even when I’m dressed down, I wear a nice shirt, nice jeans and stilettos. Even when I go on vacation, where no one’s going to see me, I enjoy picking out new clothes, bathing suits and accessories. I do it for myself because I enjoy fashion. It makes me feel like me.”

Latest Look:

I was going to do the shorter hair [for her new album] that I had when I performed with Tina Turner at the Grammys earlier this year, which I loved. But I’ve decided to wear my hair straight instead. I’ve had so many different hairstyles, and I don’t want this project to be about my hair. With my makeup, I was doing a lot of liquid liner before. Now I’m into a gold smoky eye and natural-tone lip.”

October 2008 cover of Marie Claire UK grace Beyonce Knowles.  She talks on being over her pop star status, personal life, men, family. She reveled that she wants to become an icon.

I’m over being a pop star,” Beyonce told British Marie Claire. “I don’t wanna be a hot girl. And I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot. I feel like I’m highly respected, which is more important than any award or any amount of records. And I feel like there comes a point when being a pop star is not enough.”

Being a legend, an icon, absolutely not. And, at this point, that’s what I’m trying to do.”

On playing jazz great and former heroin addict Etta James in the movie Cadillac Records:

I’ve been saying for a long time that I wanted to do something dark. People are going to be very shocked. It’s the complete opposite of me. It was very emotionally draining. I was exhausted.”

On Fame And Privacy:

I’m grateful, but it’s difficult. There are responsibilities that come along with this life: just taking my three-year-old nephew to the park is a big ordeal. Or trying to have a romantic dinner without someone sneaking in to film the whole thing. I have to work really hard, and it’s fine, because I like it, I love it, but it is a lot of sacrifice.”

Beyonce Knowles visited a drop-in center for drug addicts in Brooklyn to prepare for the role:

I was really afraid. I didn’t know what I would see, because I’d never seen anything like that…I didn’t want to ask questions that were inappropriate, but (the people there) were very open and I have a new understanding. I never judge, but I just didn’t understand how, if you had children and so many things to lose, you could be so deep into your addiction that you just let all of that go.”

A singer, an actress, a beauty queen, a fashion designer, … that’s still not enough for Beyonce Knowles. According to the recent reports, the star and her mom Tina Knowles are adding a jewelry line to their already-successful brand House of Dereon.

Dereon has reportedly partnered with Carolee Jewelry to create a fashion jewelry collection. Carolee also produces jewelry for Lauren by Ralph Lauren, ABS by Allen Schwartz and Brooks Brothers.

The mother-daughter design team will create a complete collection of jewels consisting of necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings. All jewelry pieces will incorporate various metals, man-made pearls, crystals and more.

I am so passionate about jewelry. As both a designer and a stylist, I know the important role jewelry plays in completing your total look,” Tina Knowles said in the statement.

I love accessories and we’ve always used a lot of accessories, so it was a natural thing for us to do,” said Tina Knowles, creative director. “For the first collection, I wanted to do a lot of things taken from the street. One of the things I love to do is walk on the streets of New York or Brooklyn and see what the kids are doing, and that goes with our mantra - catwalk meets sidewalk. I saw a lot of filled hoops and charm bracelets, that’s what the kids are wearing these days.”

She (Beyonce) was a dressmaker and she loved jewelry,” Tina Knowles said. “I have some of her brooches from the Forties, during her time of fashion. She was an accessories person as well and it’s great to carry that on.”

The collection is said to be affordable with prices ranging from $16- $68. The new Knowles jewelry line is said to hit stores in spring 2009.
