I love prints, especially florals. The more the better. So, it’s not surprising that Printed Maiden photoshoot from Elle Greece February 2012 issue starring Natalia Zakharova looked so appealing to me.

Photographed by Dimitris Skoulos for Elle Greece the model looks amazing in all the outfits she wears for the shoot. And she wears quite a lot. As far as I can recognize the designer pieces Natalia is dressed in Mary Katrantzou trouse suit, D&G and Pucci maxi dresses, Blumarine lovely mini finished with flip flops and a cap from the same collection, leather pencil skirt with a car pattern by Prada, Iceberg and Dsquared2 pieces, and Missoni swimsuit.

My favorite photo is the one with Natalia Zakharova posing in Blumarine short dress printed with blue flowers. The model is laughing and looks really great.

Floral print has a tendency to come back every summer. During Spring/ Summer 2011 it was superhot. Nearly every designer made at least one outfit featuring it. Carolina Herrera’s collection was fully based on the concept of beauty of flowers.

For Spring/ Summer 2012 floral print is to be as trendy. This time Blumarine focused on the print and created the range which was literally blooming. Maybe it was too extreme but the effect was impressive. Other designers and brands that used the floral prints extensively include: Iceberg, D&G, Mary Katrantzou, Erdem and others.

Nature print is a little unusual but it seems to be gaining popularity. Images of trees, flowers, leaves, sun, sea and other can’t leave you untouched. Holly Fulton, Dries Van Noten, and Alberta Ferretti were among those designers who decided to play with the nature motif.

Continuing the theme of nature it should be mentioned that during Spring/ Summer 2012 fashion season animal prints will be hotter than ever. And this doesn’t only include the leopard, snakeskin and zebra prints but also full images of tigers, birds, cats, lizards and sea creatures.

Wild & ethnic prints will also be trendy in Spring/ Summer 2012 season. Such prints look interesting and unique and wearing them you will definitely make a stand out.

Kaleidoscopic prints are new for us. In Spring/ Summer 2012 these prints will become great additions to daring fashionistas’ wardrobes. You can go for one separate item in such print or fully make your outfit in it. Both variants will leave you looking incredible. Roccobarocco, Julien Macdonald, Matthew Williamson and Emilio Pucci collections best illustrate the trend.

Stripes are elegant and chic. They are perfect for office style garments. But for Spring/ Summer 2012 designers offer us to wear casual clothing in stripes. Both vertical and horizontal, and even diagonal stripes will make you look really trendy.

Not only the stripe will be a hot trend in Spring/ Summer 2012 season but geometrical prints in all their variety. You will find a few polka dots, zigzags, triangles, checks and many other variations of this trend.

And the last but not the least trendy will be combined prints. Flowers go together with checks, leopard with geometrical prints, kaleidoscopic prints with hearts, etc. Find your best combination in Spring/ Summer 2012 designer collections!

Probably it seems a little crazy to take floral print trend so seriously as Blumarine designer did for her Spring/ Summer 2012 collection, but Anna Molinari is definitely not a woman who does things by halves. If she likes something she embodies that in her fashion ranges so well that it impresses everyone. Remember the season she was inspired by leopard and zebra prints? Her full collection featured those and they looked awesome. For Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 she took the use of bright colors to the new level by creating a range that was incredibly stylish, fresh and youthful.

For Spring/ Summer 2012 fashion season Anna Molinari did her best to show us how lovely flowers could be. Yes, she went too far and some of the outfits looked overloaded but that’s her vision. And we can create our own looks with the use of her separate items, right?

Speaking about what I like best in Blumarine Spring/ Summer 2012 collection I would mention jackets in white and black, sexy mini dresses, youthful caps and ensembles of super short hotpants and cropped tops with boat neck. Tell me what you like!

Spring/ Summer 2012 Color Trend #6: Black and white. The combination of two neutral colors is also neutral but it is smart and elegant as well. See how unusual can black and white look together.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Color Trend #7: Yellow. Yellow always goes together with orange. When orange is trendy yellow gets popular too. It’s just a fashion law we have to get accustomed to. From pale yellow to bright lemon – this range is great for Spring/ Summer 2012.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Color Trend #8: Nude. Nude hue is one of the best in a color palette because of its versatility. It can be combined with everything and never looks vulgar or plain. There is something about this color that makes it so unique…

The queen of androgyny, Tilda Swinton, who graces the photoshoot for W Magazine 2011 edition, wears plenty of designer pieces. She appears dressed in Salvatore Ferragamo, Blumarine, Céline, Chloé, Zero + Maria Cornejo, Comme des Garçons, Stella McCartney and other brands. But these garments look really weird on the images, and they do look like something created on another planet.

In the interview for W Magazine August 2011 issue Tilda Swinton shares about gender role play, her own style icons and love to men’s clothing.

Tilda Swinton on gender role play: “People talk about androgyny in all sorts of dull ways. Cahun looked at the limitlessness of an androgynous gesture, which I’ve always been interested in.”

Tilda Swinton on her own style icons: “David Bowie—whom I’ve been orbiting ever since I saw The Man Who Fell to Earth in 1976—and my father, Maj. Gen. Sir John Swinton. They are individuals with whom I share the same planetary DNA.”

Tilda Swinton on her father’s military officer uniforms: “From childhood, I remember more about his black patent, gold livery, scarlet-striped legs, and medal ribbons than I do of my mother’s evening dresses. I would rather be handsome, as he is, for an hour than pretty for a week.”

Tilda Swinton on her friends-designers (everyone from Alber Elbaz to Stefano Pilati to Phoebe Philo): “For someone to know what you need to make you comfortable, they need to know who you are. Having them make clothes for me is like being cooked for by someone who knows what you like to eat.”

Blumarine’s leopard print looks very sexy on Adriana Lima (See Adriana Lima’s photo gallery). And the dress with a drop cutout at the cleavage is the most attractive.

Lacy dresses from Blumarine Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection deserve no less praise. Sexy minis come in simple design but look fantastic.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #1: Androgyny. The whole world seems to be changing. Men become more like women and women strive to look and act like men. Fashion just can’t stay aside of this global trend. And as a result we see mannish shirts, suits, boots, and hats in majority of Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 designer collections: Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Sonia Rykiel, Stella McCartney, Balenciaga, and others.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #2: Color. For colder seasons designers normally prefer using neutral or reserved colors like black, brown, navy, cream, dark violet, etc. However, Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collections abound in brighter hues like crimson, neon orange, purple, sky blue and others. Gaga’s favorite designer Mugler, Giles, Antonio Berardi, Marios Schwab as well as Viktor & Rolf and Givenchy have all featured this Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 trend in their ranges.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #4: Texture Overload. Everything is mixed in Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collections. Silk comes along with fur and knitwear, sequins and leather make a perfect combination and even plastic goes well with chiffon and wool. Sounds crazy? It does. And it does look a bit crazy, too.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #5: 40s Elegance. Fashion repeats itself. In Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 40s elegance is again a hot trend. The best approach to reinvent this fashion era has been realized by Gucci, John Galliano, Miu Miu, and Jonathan Saunders.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #6: Midi and Maxi skirts. Miniskirts are always popular, especially with teenagers. But for Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 you better embrace the longer length skirts. These can look as sexy as minis because your sex appeal depends on how you wear your clothes, not the type of clothing you wear. Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #8: Pleats and Frills. While gender play trend is going forward at a steady gait some designers think femininity should be preserved. It’s the greatest news for those girls who don’t want to transform into strong and courageous men and prefer to remain fragile women. Pleats, frills, cute rosettes and lovely embroidery help us look romantic. And we sometimes want to look romantic, don’t we? Prettiest pleats can be found in Valentino, Oscar de la Renta and Christian Dior Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collections.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #9: Zoological. Besides zoological prints, like leopard and python, to which we have already got accustomed due to the fact every single season designers use these in their creations, in Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 ranges we see lots of feathers, wild animals printed on fabric (Givenchy, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Topshop and Ungaro), hats in shape of lions and panthers at Anna Sui, etc. Fashion goes really wild.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #10 Chunky Knit Sweater. .Fall and winter are cold seasons, so there is no wonder why designers have included warm chunky sweaters into their collections. Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #11: Fur. As with sweaters, fur is the perfect material for winter. And it looks chic, too. But with the severe struggle to protect animals designers have become wiser and started using more faux fur than genuine one. Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #13: Layers. Despite the fact fashion experts often criticize layered looks layers are the best for colder time. The more layers, the warmer you feel, unless your layers aren’t too slinky of course. See layered looks by Gucci, Christian Dior and others.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #14: Coats. Fall and winter are all about outerwear. Coats designers have offered us this season are all very diverse. Opt for a military coat from Versace, youthful and sexy cropped trench from Burberry, or luxury coat from Michael Kors or Gucci. Oscar de la Renta suggests cropped hooded coats trimmed with fur. Hermes insists we should try wider poncho style coats. As you see the variety is almost unlimited. Just go for any piece you like!

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #15: Wide cropped trousers. This is the shape of trousers many women try to avoid thinking those will look really unflattering. However, if styled well such trousers can look fantastic.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Fashion Trend #16: Sheer. Sheer trend isn’t the wisest for fall and winter but it is still popular. Best sheer dresses, skirts and blouses are in Christian Dior, Gucci, Alexander Wang, Mugler, Blumarine and Michael Kors collections.

Blumarine’s Anna Molinari divided her Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collection into three parts, each included 20 different looks. The first part was all grey and black. I was a bit puzzled and almost believed the show was actually organized by Burberry. Classic trench coats, dressy suits, elegant cropped jackets, stylish high boots – all these reminded me of the iconic British label’s designs.

The second part of the Blumarine Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 show shocked even more – nearly the same simple silhouettes were made in bold flashy colors – orange, purple, yellow, green, and navy blue. A fancier version of classic style – that was it. Colors were pretty Versace I have to admit.

The last part of Blumarine Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 range surprised even more. This time the designer sent her models down the runway in see-through black lace, and then in all the colors that made the second part of the show so special. Dresses and other clothing looked very feminine and sexy.

The collection looked great. The pieces were amazing. But… I do love Blumarine for the prints – so cheerful and attractive. And this is why I’m a bit disappointed with the Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 show.

Respected brands like Dolce & Gabbana and girlie ones like Mulberry all feature leopard print in abundance. Every piece of the outfit, accessories and shoes of any kind – all have been touched by this trend.

If Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana opted for classic chic of leopard print, Dries Van Noten went for its casual beauty.

Mulberry demostrated the full blossom of the hottest trend for Fall 2010. Leopard print isn’t only diverse in size here it is different in color, too!

Youthfulness runs through Blumarine Fall 2010 collection with tons of animal prints. Leopard dresses and zebra coats are followed by leopard high boots and zebra trousers.

Etro took inspiration from tribal motives and leopard print was just a perfect addition.

Moschino leopard-printed outfits strike with clear hint to cowboy style.

The Blumarine Fall/ winter 2010/ 2011 collection is full of perfect-looking animal-printed outfits and accessories. I especially like zebra-printed ones – the garments, the shoes, the bags – these are fabulous!
