Christina Hendricks is simply amazing so, honestly, I look forward to every cover she’s on. This time the Mad Men star graces May 2013 cover of Flare magazine. Wearing a bright yellow dress the actress looks effortlessly chic as usual. She shared on dealing with rejection:

I’ve been to a million auditions and have been rejected a million times, so it’s something that I’m used to. You’re either right for it or you’re not right for it. Emily Blunt stuns on the May 2013 cover of InStyle, wearing a pink metallic Burberry Prorsum outfit and wet look hair. The star talks marriage, being thirty and her first action movie with the magazine, saying of Hollywood:

Cate Blanchett looks gorgeous on the black and white cover of Australian Harper’s Bazaar. The star talks fashion and arts in the interview and defends her style:

Couture is a cabinet of curiosities. It’s a place of experimentation and I think the red carpet is a great place to display it. I knew people would either hate that [2009 crochet Romance Was Born] dress or really love it. People get so worried about what everybody thinks. Carey Mulligan scored a few covers including Vogue US May 2013 cover where she is portrayed in the style of her latest movie heroine Daisy Buchanan. Mulligan talks about getting the role in the film as well as making the Great Gatsby. She also covers Flaunt Fabrication Issue and June 2013 issue of Harper’s Bazaar UK.

Speaking of Great Gatsby, Vogue Australia dedicated its May 2013 issue to the film, featuring Karlie Kloss in 20′s style look on the cover.

Kate Hudson looks amazing in red Gucci gown as she covers Elle UK May 2013. The star talks family, her fiance Matthew Bellamy and ballroom dancing. On the latter she commented:

Oh my God I love it. I’ve learnt the cha-cha and the tango. I’m having dresses made. Those colours and flounces are totally my guilty pleasure. The whole thing’s an excuse to go out on the dancefloor looking almost naked. With sequins. It’s so sexy.

Burberry Prorsum Capsule Collection for The Metropolitan Museum of Art Exhibition 2013

Seems like all the leading fashion brands in the world are taking part in the Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibition set by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is a major event in the fashion industry. According to the fashion tendencies shown in the Internet, punk promises to be the key fashion trend both among the democratic brands and luxurious labels. Following the Moda Operandi’s dedicated collection, Burberry presented its latest capsule collection with an edgy vibe.

Burberry Prorsum Capsule Collection for MET Punk:Chaos to Couture Exhibition

In order to celebrate the 2013 exhibition by MET, Burberry created a unique capsule collection. Finding a source of inspiration in the Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2011 collection, this collection includes leather jackets with edgy zip details and studs as well as utterly glam and chic spiked strappy sandals. Besides garments for women, this range includes pieces for men like jeans and a retro tee. All of the pieces in this capsule collection ooze the true British vibe, but the one, that reigned during the 90s.

Unfortunately, this collection will be available only through dedicated windows at the Burberry Soho and East 57th Street stores till the end of May.

This Punk: Chaos to Couture Spring 2013 exhibition was organized by The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhibition will be held starting from May 9 till August 14, 2013. Its aim is examining the influence punk had and still has on high fashion starting from its formation back in 1970s and till the present time. Moda Operandi, retailer of luxury goods, along with Condé Nast made this exhibition possible.

Featuring nearly a hundred pieces both for men and women, among which are vintage garments and contemporary pieces, this exhibition best demonstrates the way the haute couture fashion adopts the punk signature elements in its ready-to-wear pieces.

Mirror foils, statement metal prints, sparkling materials and holographic finishes made a big splash at the Spring Summer 2013 fashion catwalks. Being spotted in nearly each show of the Fashion Week Fall 2013, the metallics offer a fresh way to bring a luxurious touch to your looks replacing the traditional colorful neon and pastel trends. Leading fashion houses like Mulberry, Alexander Wang and Burberry Prorsum stacked on the metallic trend in their Spring Summer 2013 collections and didn’t lose.

Francesca Burns, British Vogue fashion editor, commented on this loud trend:

The sheen that features heavily in the spring/summer 13 collections has magical qualities. When hit by light, one colour becomes many, while the gauzy fabrics float about the body like a mystical glow. Take note of Raf Simons at Dior and go for a sculpted iridescent top over micro shorts.

Burberry Prorsum and Jonathan Saunders stick to the clean-cut silhouettes and simple lines. Their garments with the classical design, which is never out of fashion, were spiced up by the metallic sheen of fabrics that added an edgy and statement feel to the collection.

Creative director of Burberry Prorsum – Christopher Bailey – included capes, dresses and even bikinis in the opulent metallic shades of blue, green, pink and yellow in the Spring Summer 2013 collection. Meanwhile Christian Dior layered the glossy garments with the bold stripes and delicate florals, which are also the key trends of this season.

If you are not daring enough to wear the head-to-toe metallic outfit, consider sequin-embellished items that are a more traditional and safe option. Diane von Furstenberg introduced the dresses that are richly embellished with colored pailettes, which look dressy and chic. Just Cavalli offers to team the sequin-decorated jumpers with simple denims and Converse for the effortless look with glam vibe.

Celebrities in return  didn’t fail to try this trend before it became widely spread. At the latest Oscars 2013 ceremony A-list female celebrities demonstrated an array of the metallic gowns. Stacy Keibler stunned on the red carpet wearing the floor-length gown with silver studs all over it by Naeem Khan, while Renee Zellweger went for the shiny gold Carolina Herrera gown with the simple silhouette.

Naomi Watts amazed everyone with her sequin-embellished Armani Privé gown with the cut out on the breast area, while Jennifer Hudson looked dazzling in the Roberto Cavalli gown in the beautiful midnight blue with sparkling metallic effect.

As for the accessories, try to keep them subtle or even refuse wearing them in order to balance the bold metallic. Regardless whether you prefer to embrace this loud trend in full or simply complement your looks with metallic shoes, you will definitely make a statement with your look and become center of attention.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses are an essential accessory because they are not only good at protecting your eyes from the bright sun but also at adding style to your look.

Colored/Transparent Frames

Colored and transparent frames are great for adding a splash of color to a monochrome look. The shades spotted on runways come in yellow, green, red as well as white. There are also many brown shades in matching frames that have a very classic feel to them.

The shapes vary from small rounded to wayfarer types. More sporty variations can be found in Louis Vuitton and Salvatore Ferragamo collections.

Handbags take a more important place in modern man’s wardrobe than they used to. Choose between a holdall, a clutch or a document file bag this season to accessorize your look and add a splash of color to it.

Holdalls

Holdalls are great spacious bags that come in both sporty and classic styles. Made of textile or leather these bags feature handles and sometimes also a strap to carry them on a shoulder. Choose between more sporty designs of Diesel Black Gold and John Vartvatos and classic ones of Canali and Giorgio Armani.

Clutches

Clutches are held in hands and come in such different forms and shapes – from envelope to a document folder where you can keep all the necessary work docs and carry them to the office instead of taking a whole suitcase with you. Although the latter also appeared in some collections.

Backpacks

Backpacks were seen in many summer collections. They are convenient but can also be stylish. Think leather, interesting shapes and punchy colors. Louis Vuitton offers an ultmiate luxury sports backpack with an external pocket in croc leather.

Headwear

Headwear is also functional in summer but can add a unique touch to your look. Think light summer hats with simple styling paired with bright patterned neck scarves and light summer suits or trouser ensembles.

Summer Fedora

Summer fedora and wide-brimmed hats spotted at Acne, Canali and Jogn Varvatos are great for wearing both to the office and the beach. Opt for wide-brimmed hats when going on vacation and use a light summer fedora to top off your offce suit.

Paperboy Cap

A paperboy cap is a great alternative to a brimmed hat if you want a more casual look. Designers offer to wear it with a light neck scarf in one tone with the cap or blazer. Speaking of scarves they can be used in summer instead of ties as they finish off the outfits but also look more laid back. They are easy to tie and wear with anything from a suit to everyday clothes.

Bracelets are getting more popular and thus there are many more variations of them. Look for designs that suit your style and taste. Gucci offer a subtle leather bracelet embellished with a chain while in collection by DSquared2 you can find bolder variants. Necklaces should be long and bold this season. There are some great designs in Diesel Black Gold and DSquared2 collections while Ann Demeulemeester showed thick chains intertwined with ribbons and thinner chains.

Take some time to figure out what accessories work for you and what designs you like the most. Don’t be afraid to experiment with the accessories as they add detail and complete your outfits.

Hottest Colors in Menswear for Spring/Summer 2013

Ovadia & Sons Spring 2013 Collection

Wild Fire: Red, Rust, Golden Rod, Orange

Well, certainly the hot sunny colors would be cherished as they are appearing in various menswear collections of the season. These are the classy colors of Spring/ Summer season, and they were presented by Salvatore Ferragamo in vibrant orange and yellow and by Etro in metallic shades of orange and red, which appeared during the show of Ermenegildo Zegna.

Cool blues: Olives, Ink, Spearmint, Navy blue

As with any season, the colder palettes are of course more obvious, as they were showcased during many runways including Burberry, who displayed metallic light blue, Salvatore Ferragamo showcasing spearment hues, and Emporio Armani dabbing the Ink and Olive shades.

Enchanted Forest: Moss Green, Khaki, Brown

So, the earthy tones are also abundant in collections for Spring 2013. As we see in Valentino collection, there is that rich brown hue, which is quite distinct. Browns are the theme also seen in Bottega Veneta, but these browns are more subtle. Hermes showcased classy brown in combination with moss green. Then we see ever-returning khaki, shown at Balmain, this time in a form of a summer coat, an essential thing in a wardrobe for this season.

Special notion deserve the prints and fabrics trends present during the shows for Spring/Summer 2013 season. Most in favor are satin, silk, shiny leathers, eye-popping metallic. The special attention deserves the key themes in terms of prints. There is a retro vibe and lots of abstract art as seen in Dolce & Gabbana and Burberry Prorsum collections; there are also floral prints, as spotted in Gucci show, and geometric prints displayed on the runway of Band of Outsiders.

If the Spring collection was all about clear plastic and shiny metallic finishes, Burberry’s Fall 2013 line is all about prints including the heart print we saw in brand’s pre-Fall collection, leather, which comes in this season’s hit color – oxblood – and metallic details that decorated pieces including skirts, trench hemlines, and handbags.

The metal elements also come in forms of belts, necklines and decorative buttons. Other elements also include fringe and studs. The prints are all over the collection including skirts, tops, trenches and dresses. Even footwear is featured in various prints from leopard to zebra.

The collection is full of reinvented classic Burberry trenches designed in prints, made of semi-sheer leather, and featuring accent elements. There are also oversize coats in crinkled lacquered finishes, golden patterns, and fringe decorated with metal circle details. They are finished off with golden metal belts that accentuate the waistline creating a flattering silhouette.

Separates are paired in stylish esembles consisting of sheer leather pencil skirts and tops, sweaters, oxblood polo and heart-printed shirts. The latter even made it to the menswear line. The first men’s look consists of a black suit paired with a monochrome heart-printed shirt and metal-studded shoes.

The footwear for both men and women features prints. Women’s shoes are designed in low wedge style finished with a fringe detail or sometimes perforated and treated with metal.

The shoes can be coordinated with an outfit. The prints are very different and add another dimension to the look.

The handbags are also decorated in various ways starting with prints and finishing with metallic details. There are many clutch designs in croc leather, fur, calf hair and metallic studs.

Megan Fox covers Marie Claire UK’s March 2013 issue looking radiant in Dolce & Gabbana jumpsuit. The actress talks motherhood, husband Brian Austin Green and cooking.  For the photoshoot the star wore designed from Roland Mouret, Victoria Beckham, Burberry Prosum and others. On being a mother: “I’ve never been validated by work or fame or Hollywood or any of that. I recognize the blessings when they come – like, I recognize I’m so lucky to work with Judd [Apatow] – but the ultimate satisfaction for me is being with my son. All I wanted to do my whole, whole life was have a baby and, now, I’ve finally done it. I just want to give Noah as much of myself as I can. And I want to have more kids. That is where my heart is.”

It’s very hard for me to do this stuff, because I feel like this isn’t my job any more. My job is to be with him,

On husband Brian Austin Green: “I just think we got lucky. I believe he’s my soulmate. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t take work, because we are very, very different. But we are tolerant of each other and we try to be patient with each other, and I don’t try to turn him into me and he knows not to try to turn me into him. He really is amazing. I should never, ever even think about complaining.”

I can’t watch the news any more. Everything makes me cry. Because everyone is someone’s child, every woman seems like someone’s mother. I have so much more patience for people and women in general.

On cooking: “I can cook, but I also want everything to look beautiful on the plate – then I get upset when people eat it. Everyone just tears through it and that makes me sad. It’s not a rewarding experience for me to cook.”

Victoria Beckham For Elle UK March 2013

Victoria Beckham looks sexy and glamorous as she covers the Elle UK’s March 2013 issue. The pop star-turned-designer poses in Burberry Prorsum and other designer outfits from Lanvin, Miu Miu, Hussein Chalayan, Manolo Blahnik, and of course, her own label, making peplum cool as ever. Photographed by Carter Smith the designer looks radiant and glam.

The designerwill be showing her two collections from sister lines Victoria Beckham and Victoria by Victoria Beckham during the Fashion Week as well as launch an e-commerce website next month.

On going into fashion business: “It was never my intention to prove anybody wrong. I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. I don’t have to work, I need to work. All these people [her fellow fashion designers], they’ve not just been given anything. They’ve worked hard. And I’ve never been given anything either. But I have a good work ethic; David has an incredible work ethic. I want my kids to have a good work ethic. I believe you can achieve anything if you work hard enough to get it.”

On what it means to make her way in fashion: When I was on stage with the Spice Girls, I thought people were there to see the other four and not me. And when I go out with David and people take pictures I think, ‘They’re here to take David’s picture.”

On family and trust: “You’ve got to trust people. And because I am a control freak, sometimes that’s difficult for me, because I want to micro-manage absolutely everything. I can’t hand over. But I’m trying to do that more. It’s hard because I have such a specific vision. Now David has finished playing for LA Galaxy and we are starting a new chapter in our lives; as a family we are all very excited about what lies ahead for 2013.”

Burberry Prorsum’s Pre-Fall 2013 has signature Burberry style with the interpretation of new trends. There are classic Burberry silhouettes and designs and some great fresh ideas as well. The well-tailored fitting clothes range from iconic Burberry trenches to stylish wool dresses, winter coats, darling jackets, and leg elongating pencil skirts.

The focus of the collection is silhouette and tailoring. Trenches and coats sit fittinglly on both models making for ultimately chic and stylish winter look. Structured and cropped jackets are paired with sleek pencil skirts or dresses or tailored pleat pants.

Color palette ranges from soft browns to bright red and oxblood that is so trendy this season which means it will probably linger for another year. But there are also prints and patterns in clothes as well as fun illustrations on men’s T-shirts.

Reptile and giraffe prints can be seen in women’s trenches while the men’s coats and tops come in abstract and same giraffe prints. There are also stripe patterns and heart-shaped prints in menswear.

The trends we saw this season can also be seen in this collection. Fur, leather, prints, military style are all mixed together. There are military style coats, fur coats, and leather trenches. Oxblood pieces in the collection are very well matched with the black, navy and dark purple colors.

The stand out are entirely printed coats and trenches, partly solid and printed outerwear pieces and structured dresses. For men there are suit trousers, fun T-shirts, printed shirts, and great outerwear in various styles from leather jackets to printed trenches.

The looks are accessorized with wedged ankle boots, reptile clutches, oversize bags and small round hats. There are also matching printed belts, matching printed bags, and medium lacquered and studded bags and clutches. There are also bags and clutches for men in prints and calfskin finish.
