The theme of the collection was the global warming or ‘the global cooling’ as Lagerfeld called it, and its effects on our lives. Male and female models had to walk on a wet surface of the runway sometimes sending little droplets of water to the front row where stars like Lindsay Lohan and Vanessa Paradis were sitting.

The huge chunks of ice on the stage were absolutely real as were the models strutting in head-to-toe coffee-colored yeti suits and shaggy snow boots. The line was more couture than ready-to-wear though I am sure it would have lots of fans living in normal climate.
The amount of fur amazed everyone but PETA activists should not call Lagerfeld bad names, the fur was fake.

The designer told The Telegraph:

It’s so good now, technical advances are so perfect you can hardly tell fake fur from the real thing. Fake is not chic – we have got a new Chanel tweed to stop copies – but fake fur is.”

Only best models were chosen to wear the luxurious pieces on the catwalk including Freja Beha Erichsen, Lara Stone, Abbey lee Kershaw, Coco Rocha, Sasha Pivovarva and others.

Brown tweeds, capes, bonnets, furry trousers, coats – all had a level of lavish elaboration usually reserved for haute eveningwear. Accessories were perfect. Jewelry was very similar to little pieces of ice, sparkling and mysterious.

It is a common fact that to stand out at the Oscars is always a very difficult thing. But some women know very well how to do it. And one of these is definitely Jennifer Lopez. The singer appeared on the red carpet wearing a sumptuous strapless gown by Armani Prive.

By the way, Armani creations were extremely popular. Amanda Seyfried also wore a dress by this designer and looked absolutely gorgeous.

Vera Farmiga chose a more colorful dress from Marchesa, a real red-carpet label. The actress looked perfect.

Anna Kendrick was the embodiment of youth and chic as she wore a gorgeous Elie Saab gown to the event.

Sandra Bullock, who was named the Best Actress, sported a fabulous Marchesa frock. She opted for a silver clutch to match her outfit.

Rachel McAdams looked uber feminine in a strapless flower-patterned dress by Elie Saab.

Mariah Carey opted for an elegant Valentino dress. The star was accompanied with her husband.

Penelope Cruz donned a ruby Donna Karan and looked wonderful in it from the waist up, but the drapes at her feet seemed too voluminous for the actress’s tiny frame.

Zoe Saldana looked funny in her lilac Givenchy haute couture dress, like a lantern on a Christmas tree.

Sarah Jessica Parker wore a cream-colored Chanel dress with silver flower detail in front. Looked pretty!

Diane Kruger also wore Chanel to the Oscars.

Demi Moore looked very womanly and sophisticated in her blush-pink ruffled frock by Atelier Versace.

Carey Mulligan’s dress by Prada looked great but her shoes were disappointing indeed.

Cameron Diaz looked fantastic in an Oscar de la Renta dress.

Kate Winslet looked beautiful in her simple outfit by Yves Saint Laurent. A nice clutch and a Tiffani necklace complemented her look.

The new star in Hollywood Gabourey Sidibe wore a blue Marchesa dress to the ceremony and looked very pretty!

Miley Cyrus didn’t look as a teenager at all in her Jenny Packham strapless dress.

Meryl Streep looked super elegant and fresh in a Chris March gown.

Faith Hill opted for a sexy black lace dress by Roberto Cavalli.

Tina Fey looked glamorous in a Michael Kors dress.

Sigourney Weaver looked good but not special and she obviously blended in the crowd in her red floor-sweeping gown.

However, Lily is very excited about her new life and especially the clothing label.

She said:

I’m doing a vintage clothes shop with my sister, it’s amazing stuff that would be really expensive but we’re renting it [out] for a fraction of the price, so girls can come and get dressed up for a night out and have a laugh.”

To launch Vintage at Goodwood with her designer friend Wayne Hemingway the British star put on a red vintage dress and a chic black shawl to cover herself. She looked fabulous in this outfit and really happy posing for the camera.

She said:

I’m helping Wayne out with this first of all and then I’m opening up a shop with my sister and a couple of other people and I’m really busy,’ she said. ‘I’m in the office every day, sourcing clothes and getting really excited about my new venture.”

I’ll begin with Kristen Stewart. She wasn’t the best-dressed and her look seemed unfinished but she is the star of Twilight, the saga I liked so much, so she is the first on my list. Kristen looked good in short white strapless Chanel dress and a pair of matching heels. I do think she looks better in jeans.

Kate Winslet couldn’t miss this exciting event and appeared on the red carpet looking elegant and classy. I liked her black dress with lacy insets very much!

Vera Farmiga looked brilliant in a white assymetrical Marchesa gown. The dress was so cute that Vera was an absolute stand out for me!

Another Twightlight and New Moon star Anna Kendrick wore a yellow Pucci dress to the party and looked lovely! The embroidery in front was beautiful.

Joely Richardson who arrived to support her mother showed off her beauty in a blue satin Katherine Walker gown with silver shoulder details. She matched her dress with a pair of black shoes and a pretty little clutch.

Claire Danes opted for a silver frock that looked a bit too elaborate in design. Jewelry pieces she wore to match the dress added glamour to her look.

Carey Mulligan dazzled in a flower-prited dress that revealed her shoulders. A pair of black sandals completed the attire.

Anne Marie Duff blended with the red carpet wearing a scarlet dress by Alberta Ferretti that covered her baby bump beautifully.

Kristin Scott Thomas went a simplier path and chose a black classy beaded dress by Louis Vuitton she looked fabulous in. As it was rather cold she took a fur boa to cover herself.

Audrey Tautou looked so much pretty in her pink frock by Lanvin.

Meredith Ostrom wore a black one-shoulder dress that looked ageing on her though was sumptuous.

Jamie Winston went for Marylin Monroe look in Alexander McQueen’s creation.

Karl Lagerfeld did his best to show the luxury he had created for us in his collection for the upcoming season. Simple but elegant outfits come in powder colors and seem to tell us that it’s not the brightness that looks classy.

The Chanel Haute Couture Spring 2010 collection is very feminine and romantic. Most of the pieces are airy and almost transparent like spring light clouds and tiny field flowers.

No black was used, just white, beige, pale pink, yellow and silver. Satin, chiffon, organza were the main fabrics while rosettes and embroidery were the preferred adornments.

The collection described as ‘neon baroque’ gives the impression of chic, elegance and sophistication. Some of outfits seem to be perfect wedding dresses. And the oversized bows pinned to models’ hair reminded us of ladies of past centuries who were lucky to wear these to balls.

Spring-Summer 2010 season sees lots of bracelets worn all over the arm, from wrists to forearms. And the diversity of styles and designs is huge.

Let me show you the bracelets I liked the most in designers’ collections.

John Galliano and Lanvin created very elaborate and chic pieces, with lots of beads, chains and gemstones.

Jean Paul Gaultier preferred plastic to other materials and made very extravagant bracelets which could be worn on forearms and elbows.

Chanel pieces are classy and sophisticated and will be perfect for evening outfits.

Bracelets from Karl Lagerfeld and Valentino are very unusual but look sumptuous.

Marc by Marc Jacobs offer us to wear simple pieces similar to toys we buy for babies.

Dolce&Gabbana items look luxurious. They are adorned with coins and black gemstones.

Giorgio Armani bracelets are elegant and classy, perfect for special occasions and chic garments.

Louis Vuitton want us to wear bright baubles.

Gucci and Missoni created simple metallic pieces for everyday wear.

Oscar de la Renta went a more traditional path and made universal-looking bracelets. Richard Nicoll, on the contrary, used less conventional shapes. He used fabric and beads to create his works of art.

Sparkling pieces were made by Dries Van Noten and Giambattista Valli.

Hermes and Anna Sui seem to have spent lots of time on accessories because the diversity of their bracelets is amazing.

The person whose records with the Sugababes are sold in millions of copies haggles over the price! What is it? Greediness? Passion? Economy?

The blonde admits she just can’t resist a bargain and always makes attempts to negotiate over the cost of her designer outfits.

She said:

If I see something I really love, I try to sweet-talk the sales staff to put it away for me, so I can get it at a discount price. I’m really into Chanel handbags. I’ve got six now and I’m still counting. They’re totally classic. My Stella McCartney blanket coat is a favourite. My boyfriend bought it for me several years ago. It was expensive, even at the sale price, but it was last forever. I wear it every winter.”

The beauty also mentioned her weakness for shoes. She told she could spend a whole day shopping for chic pairs of heels.

She commented:

I’ve got far more shoes than clothes. Shoes are my weak spot, especially Giuseppi Zanotti. When the sales are on, I like to make a whole day of it. I traipse up and down Bond Street and Regent Street in London. If I see something I like, I have to have it. I can’t stand getting home and thinking, ‘I should have bought that’.”

I’ve heard something like that lately… Yes, it was the girl from Shopaholic! She alwasys said she couldn’t refuse buying pieces.

And it’s interesting that not only Heidi suffers from the disease called ‘bargaining’. Fellow singer Amelle Berrabah also says she loves a bargain but she usually prefers to avoid the crowds and shop online.

She said:

I love a sale, but it’s best to go on the big department stores or shop on net-a-porter.com, where you have the choice of lots of different brands and you can shop around.”

The 37-year-old wears a classic Chanel suit and a fashion-forward Lanvin jumpsuit plus super-chic jewelry and fabulous shoes.

In the interview for the W magazine Jennifer reveals a lot about her family life and work.

On being a mom to her two daughters: The actress considers breast-feeding “the coziest feeling in the whole world” and finds it easy to bond with the other moms at Violet’s school. “You feel so close to them so quickly because you’re going through the same thing.” Jennifer cooks food for her children herself. “It’s a little over the top. And I tell myself, Just give her a jar of food and forget about it! Don’t be so precious! But it’s so easy—I just puree and freeze.”

On being a working mom: “I live my life at these two extremes. I’m either a full-time stay-at-home mom or a full-time actress.” But she understands she cannot be with her children all the time. She needs and wants to work. “It’s hard because I’ve taken so much time off already. But I have this internal battle between, I need to work, I need to work, I need to work and I need to be home with my kids. And the kids win.”

On possibly working with husband Ben Affleck: “I think he’s brilliant at what he does, but why rock the boat? It works between us pretty well the way it is. I don’t know if I want to go to work with him. I’d be like, ‘Okay already, you got the shot. Let’s go home!’”

On paparazzi interference: The situation is a bit better in Boston, where “there are fewer of them, and they hide behind things, so my kids aren’t aware of them, which makes all the difference in the world,” Garner says. But in L.A., “if I try to go to the supermarket, the police come. We talked forever about leaving Los Angeles, but anywhere you go some dodo is going to buy a camera and start following you.”

On her new film, Valentine‘s Day: “I got to work at home in L.A., which never happens, and it was a fun job that wasn’t all on me. There are a lot of things that made it an easy yes,” Garner says of her reasons for signing on to the movie, which she describes as “similar in feel and design to He’s Just Not That Into You. There’s nothing that’s not satisfying about it.”

Taylors tells about being an outisder at school and her double life as a result of this:

I would sit on the edge of class and watch people interact with each other. I’d watch guys flirt with cool girls and I would watch best friends talk, and I would go home and write about it. If you listen to my albums, it’s like reading my diary.”

Her classmates didn’t like the music she wrote and often reacted badly to her speaking about that:

I didn’t really have that many friends at school. Kids would heckle me: ‘Go sing that country beep.’ It just dawned on me that I had to love being different or else I was going to end up being dark and angry and frustrated by school. Sometimes I felt like I was some sort of spy because I would go to school during the day, and then, after school, I had this life that was completely different. I definitely was more nervous walking into my first day of freshman year in high school than I was walking up to record labels and handing them my CD. In school, I learned to stop talking about music because they didn’t like it when I did. I led a double life. I kind of started to live in fear when I would sing the national anthem at the 76ers game. If there was a write-up about it the next day in our local paper, I knew it was gonna be a bad day at school for me.”

But now Taylors isn’t afraid to express herself anymore. She writes everything she feels in her songs, including even names of people she used to like:

I don’t hesitate — people who have no idea that I have a crush on them won’t find out through me telling them, but they will find out when they hear their name in a song. There was this guy who opened a couple of shows for me on tour and I talked to him a couple of times, but he never knew that I liked him. So I wrote this song called “Hey Stephen,” and when my album came out, I sent him a text message: ‘Hey, Track 5.’ It was so funny. He sent me back a long email saying, ‘Oh, my God!’”
