At the Oscars stars tried to look as glamorous as possible wearing long sumptuous dresses, expensive jewelry and accessories. For 2010 Vanity Fair Oscar party held at Sunset Tower on Sunday (March 7) they went more modest and unpretentious though outfits still looked chic.
Kate Beckinsale looked gorgeous in a shimmering assymetrical dress complimented by Neil Lane diamond earrings and a large gold diamond platinum cocktail ring.

Katy Perry returned to her glamorous side. The I Kissed a Girl singer appeared on the red carpet wearing a perfect Zuhair Murad gown, H. Stern jewels, Judith Leiber clutch and Jimmy Choo shoes.

Kristen Stewart did her best to look good but dresses definitely don’t fit her. the young actress sported a midnight blue strapless dress by Monique L’Hullier.

Natalie Portman looked beautiful in her short metallic Lanvin dress, Tiffany jewels and Aldo shoes.

Of course you already know that there was a great party in Dubai dedicated to the Opening of The Palm Resort. Plenty of famous stars attended the grand celebration.
The $1.5 million hotel brought many people to the opening night from all over the world, and many people wanted to see what all the hype was about.
Kylie Minogue, Charlize Theron, Lindsay Lohan, Marie Kate Olsen, Mischa Barton were among the guests.
The most wonderful attire was worn by Charlize Theron.

She looked just stunning in her white halter neck gown.
The Grecian dress by Roberto Cavalli was accessorized by nice golden jewelry: wide bracelets and terrific chandelier earrings and bronze clutch. The only thing that surprised me was the footwear – black flip flops. They seem to me too casual for such a glamorous look.
The next starlet to discuss here is Kylie Minogue.

The girl was wearing a pink and black floral chiffon dress with a flowing train. She looked very elegant and pretty feminine. Cute classic jewelry pieces created a more sophisticated look.

Beyonce for InStyle magazine November 2008
US InStyle magazine presents issue with Beyonce on November 2008 cover. Beyonce talks about style and fashion.

Must-Have Accessory:
I’m not dressed unless I have earrings on, like big hoops. I’ve always worn big earrings. Off the red carpet, I don’t really feel comfortable with many rings and bracelets on. I love earrings though.”

Obsession with Chanel:
I am obsessed with vintage Chanel jewelry. I once bought all the Chanel pieces that were on display at an antiques store in New York.

Favorite Designers:
Alexander McQueen and Jean Paul Gaultier are two designers I love right now. Their clothes are feminine, sexy and modern. I just went to the Giuseppe Zanotti showroom, and he had the most spectacular shoes. It was like being in a candy store—I was obsessed with every shoe! Right now, I love anything with a high platform.”

Style Icons:
Charlize Theron is always beautiful and feminine. I love her couture looks and dramatic silhouette. Halle Berry is elegant and sophisticated. I love that in the seventies Cher and Diana Ross looked like superstars and never played it safe. When they were onstage, they gave you drama—and I love drama.”
Pre-Superstar Style:
Growing up, I was a tomboy. I refused to carry a purse and wouldn’t wear a dress. That was the eighties and it was all about the hip-hop influence—baggy jeans and big shirts. [Her mother, Tina Knowles] hated it! But then I started singing and ended up watching all of the footage of the Supremes and Tina Turner. And I thought to myself, ‘They’re so beautiful. I want to be like them.’”

Off-Camera Style:
I’m a lot more conservative in my personal life. But even when I’m dressed down, I wear a nice shirt, nice jeans and stilettos. Even when I go on vacation, where no one’s going to see me, I enjoy picking out new clothes, bathing suits and accessories. I do it for myself because I enjoy fashion. It makes me feel like me.”

Latest Look:
I was going to do the shorter hair [for her new album] that I had when I performed with Tina Turner at the Grammys earlier this year, which I loved. But I’ve decided to wear my hair straight instead. I’ve had so many different hairstyles, and I don’t want this project to be about my hair. With my makeup, I was doing a lot of liquid liner before. Now I’m into a gold smoky eye and natural-tone lip.”

Rag & Bone RTW Spring 2009

RAG & BONE presented collection for Spring-Summer 2009 at New York Fashion Week 2008 on September 5. Rag & Bone’s epicene sexiness does the brand a mainstay from season to season. The Rag & Bone Spring 2009 collection is based on youths in the late 1960s and ’70s who were trying to carve an originality for themselves, but make no mistake: Designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville had a very sharp vision when they sent their looks down the catwalk.

There also were harder-edged fashion styles with very skinny-leg pants — those were for men and women — covered in unprotected zippers and worn with cufflink belts. Marcus Wainwright and David Neville played with proportion.

Skinny pants and liquid leggings presented with oversized dresses and shirts, classic cropped jackets, tanks, and perfectly cut boyfriend blazers continue to play an integral role in the collection. Black and white with fresh strawberry popping is on the color front.

There were white cotton pique blazer and a black stretch one-shoulder dress, still kept that rebel vibe thanks to their shrunken silhouettes. A sheath dress combined with black leather and an English teahouse floral print looks great on swelte women.

As they explained in their notes to a crowd that included A-lister actress Charlize Theron, the designers were specifically focused on the working class of that time. People who were trying to break away from the class system and be like no one else before them.
