Ex-wife of Mick Jagger Jerry Hall, who started working in modeling business in the Seventies, has seen career resurgence recently as Karl Lagerfeld has chosen her for Chanel’s handbag campaign.
Inspired by Colette’s Chéri, the images will be based around the novel’s tale of a young handsome man and his relationship with a woman twice his age, whose part the fashion icon of the past is going to play.

Model Baptiste Giabiconi will star as Jerry’s toyboy. He has already played in Lagerfeld’s silent mini-film, which was screened during Chanel’s Paris-Moscow show.

Karl Lagerfeld has chosen many famous modes as well as celebrities for his campaigns. Among those were: Claudia Schiffer, Nicole Kidman, Keira Knightley and now it is Jerry Hall who will be the face of Chanel.
He is so wonderful,” Jerry Hall tells the Daily Telegraph. “It was the best experience I’ve had with a photographer for many years. I actually enjoyed myself. Well, I am past my prime, so it was a treat.”
And not only the face – the body, too. This bed sheet story will certainly be a success as modern love life has lost the time notion and short adventures prime.
I wonder if the audience will like Lagerfeld’s idea.

Claudia Schiffer is the face of Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2009 ad campaign.

Yves Saint Laurent took Claudia Schiffer positioning the supermodel, dressed in a tuxedo jacket, in front of the big “Y.” near Hollywood iconic hill. As I’ve written the ad campaign was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin under the direction of YSL Stefano Pilati.

Claudia’s “Y’s up” pose is slated for the cover of YSL’s manifesto that is the French fashion house’s seasonal newspaper and style ads flyer, which is to be handed out Valentine’s Day in 2009.
