Karl Lagerfeld is reported to have found the new face for Chanel handbag campaign. And you would be surprised to know that it is the British model Alice Dellal, who is best known for her half-shaved head and being a member of a controversial all-girl rock group Thrush Metal.

Alice Dellal is said to be going to promote Chanel Spring/ Summer 2012 handbag collection. According to the rumors she has attracted attention of Karl Lagerfeld during a recent photoshoot.

If rumors confirm to be true Alice Dellal will follow in the footsteps of such big names as Vanessa Paradis, Claudia Schiffer, Nicole Kidman and Keira Knightley as well as Blake Lively, Lily Allen, and Diane Kruger who all used to be models for Chanel.

Despite being a model Alice Dellal confesses she isn’t into fashion much:

I wish I was more into clothes. I don’t know the current designers. My style used to be a tame version of me and it’s getting more and more drastic, and is probably going to get really really weird towards the end. Be afraid.”

Alice Dellal isn’t the only person in her family who works in the industry. Her sister, Charlotte, designs shoes for Sienna Miller and Kate Moss under the name Charlotte Olympia.

Supermodel Cindy Crawford is on the two covers of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore for their September 2011 issue. Crawford, 45 looks stunning on both of the shot as well as in the rest of the photo shoot. One of the covers features Cindy Crawford wearing leather cutout dress and a red lipstick while the other one has the supermodel turning back at the camera wearing a sheer white blouse and a black skirt decorated with flowers.

Photographed by Simon Upton Cindy Crawford appears in the outfits from Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection alongside Bryan Randall. The editorial that’s called Lady and The Vamp portrays Crawford as a lady vamp who turns from good girl to bad wearing racy outfits.

Crawford has made an observation about being a model in today’s fashion industry:

I just saw the CoverGirl commercial with Taylor Swift and I thought, “Wow, it is so hard for models to get a job these days.

Since celebrities have debuted on covers of various fashion magazines models have become a rare cover choice for magazine editors. But the tendency seems to be reversing as the economy declines and it’s cheaper to hire models to do covers. Harper’s Bazaar is not the only magazine that decided to put a model on its cover. Vogue and Elle has put Kate Moss, Carmen Kass, Helena Cristensen, Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova and other models on its covers. Harper’s Bazaar features such models as Karlie Kloss, Eniko Mihalik, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Heidi Klum and others. The models return.

Claudia Schiffer, Helena Christensen and Eva Herzigova are known as supermodels of the nineties. But they make another comeback with their cover of September 2011 issue of Spanish Vogue. All three supermodels are dressed in Dolce & Gabbana star-printed dresses and are showing off their mild long legs in towering heels. The trio of supermodels who are in their late 30s and early 40s look great on the magazine cover shot by Tom Munro.

Supermodels get their own separate spreads in the magazine each named with the models’ names and shot by different photographers. Helena Christensen poses in a series of shots by Miguel Reveriego wearing some hot pants, bras and open button denim shirts. Though the outfits don’t look quite wearable.

Eva Herzigova poses in a series of shots by Paola Kudacki with a head of curls in some classy outfits. The 38 year-old supermodel wears almost no makeup and looks beautiful in her photo spread “Eva”.

Claudia Schiffer dons wide-brim hats, fur, and dresses looking stunning in her black and white photo set by Tom Munro.

The fashion insiders say that the models are making comeback to fashion magazine covers  because the economy of today doesn’t let mags spend more money on inviting a celebrity. So don’t expect to see only celebrities on fashion magazine covers this September. The faces you will also see are those of Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Natalia Vodianova, Heidi Klum, and Karlie Kloss.

Cindy Crawford has spoken about the industry changes that had less and less job opportunities for models these days as celebrities become faces of collections, brands, and campaigns. This is one of the most unattractive Chanel campaigns from Karl Lagerfeld I have ever seen. Claudia Schiffer looks boring on these images. But sunglasses are lovely, especially the frames decorated with chain woven with lambskin leather.

Karl Lagerfeld decided to make Chanel Eyewear very special for Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012. He used the signature element of Chanel – the chain – and put it on a range of sunglasses. The result is amazing. I have never seen anything like this before.

I understand that sunglasses are amazing and they will sell anyway but why not do a better campaign? A livelier and more stylish one? Those flower headpieces look ridiculous on a woman like Claudia Schiffer.

As you know Claudia Schiffer took four months off to spend time with her newly-born daughter. But as it turns out the woman hasn’t been just relaxing with her family. She is pretty busy with her upcoming womenswear range.

According to Claudia the fashion line is to be launched next month and it is for Winter 2011. Can’t wait!!!

The supermodel, who is expecting her third baby with husband Matthew Vaughn, claims she doesn’t wear tight clothes when she’s pregnant. She prefers to buy normal garments and have them altered so they don’t cling to her growing body.

She said:

I’m not the sort of person who likes to wear tight clothes when I’m pregnant, but I’m not a fan of maternity dresses either, so my advice would be to get things a few sizes bigger and have them tailored to fit.”

Talking on how to keep the figure beautiful she says creams help her a lot as well as healthy eating.

She said:

I do like to put a lot of cream on my tummy, as long it’s natural. I think it really works to help stretch marks and make the skin really nice and soft.”

Kristen Stewart was one of those who attended this event. The actress wore a Pucci Origami Strapless Wool Dress that looked good on her. Kristen felt happy at the ceremony as she was named the Woman of the Year.

Naomi Campbell looked fantastic in Alexander McQueen’s dress and a pair of perfect black heels. The supermodel received the Outstanding Contribution award for all her charity job.

Leona Lewis looked classy in a black frock complimented with a black hat, lace fingerless gloves and beige shoes. The attire was gorgeous but it seems to me Leona looks older in it.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen looked beautiful and trendy in their outfits probably created by themselves.

Carey Mulligan didn’t sport a dress on the red carpet but appeared wearing a black pencil skirt and a blue blouse with a black belt.

Sisters Kylie and Dannii Minogue were together at the party. Kylie looked fabulous in her strapless LBD. Dannii rocked a yellow one-shoulder gown that covered her baby bump beautifully.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley opted for a red sexy frock that flattered her figure a lot.

Donna Ari went for a chic sparkling black dress, a yellow clutch and a pair of silver shoes.

Sophie Ellis Bextor looked stunning in her navy Grecial-style dress.

The women that didn’t impress me with their fashion choices for the evening were Daisy Lowe who looked horrible in her Miu Miu dress with cut-outs, Claudia Schiffer in her shapeless total black dress and Nicola Roberts who chose a bright pink outfit that was too short.

Karl Lagerfeld did his best to show the luxury he had created for us in his collection for the upcoming season. Simple but elegant outfits come in powder colors and seem to tell us that it’s not the brightness that looks classy.

The 39-year-old beauty claims she still gets a thrill out of walking the runway.

She said:

I still love my day job. When I get asked, if I’m in the right part of the world then I love to do it. I like the adrenaline rush and the live aspect of it. It’s nice when it’s well received and I like helping out the designers if they want me there.”

Besides being busy with her modelling work, Naomi has been working hard on her charity ventures. She is said to be currently putting the final touches to the Fashion For Relief show, that will raise money for mothers and babies of Haiti.

She told vogue.com:

I don’t want to tell you yet who’ll be in the show, I like to keep the element of surprise – it’ll be great, unexpected people. People keep coming to the events because they know they’ll definitely get their money’s worth.”

Although the model doesn’t reveal much about the upoming show we know that such designers as Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, Alice Temperley and Stella McCartney will definitely show their creations during the event.
