Hermes surpassed all our expectation with their Fall 2009 collection on Paris Fashion Week.

It was an absolute furor! Lots of propellers turning in the background, accompanied by soundtracks from Casablanca created necessary atmosphere for the presentation of aviator-inspired line by Jean Paul Gaultier for Autumn/Winter 2009-2010.

The luxury of rich materials including leather (that is a trend this season!), furs, suede, cashmere, knits, flannel, satin and other fabrics did its work and the garments presented were warmly approved by the fashion experts.

The color palette was rather dark and restrained to black, fuchsia, grey, violet, and brown. Though such moderation in color can be explained by the peculiarity of the motif – I have never seen a pilot wearing something bright!

The Hermes Fall 2009 range included long floor sweeping evening gowns, knitwear, long sheepskin or leather coats with fur trimming, leather military-style raincoats, hooded trench coats, satin or leather trousers, warm vests and gilets, classic ties, bomber jackets, knee-length dresses, overalls, cardigans, long bell-shaped skirts, leather leggings and lots of other items.

I was amazed by the headwear each model was wearing. Pieces included were pilot hats with special glasses or leather bandannas. No one before Hermes had ever used such designs. Pretty unusual, isn’t it?

If we talk about shoes I would say nothing was special or extraordinary this time – usual sandals, lace-up shoes, leather or suede thigh-high boots, and pretty high-heeled ankle boots.

Accessories tended to soften some too strict or sharp outfits.

Among these were gloves, presented in plenty of designs and materials, handbags were nice little small clutches or big leather totes, and of course belts – they were made in all styles imaginable!

Paul Smith created the thrilling image of an enigmatic woman using the silk, mousseline, pleats and flounces.

Vivienne Westwood’s structural rain coat is in Vivienne’s vision. It’s complicated, strange and sexy! Appropriate for the red carpet and office day as well.

Chloe take us back to childhood with the flower prints and soft fabrics: flannel, cotton – fingering for the romantic and sentimental girls. MaxMara developed the collection of one-color & colorful ensembles with plain straight lines and knees-up-length.

But in my opinion glam trend leaders this season are D&G, Oscar de la Renta and Versace. They combined greatly the sense of modesty, complexity, elegance and new fashion waves.

Short trench from Emanuel Ungaro impresses much or in other words nothing-excessive. Calvin Klein presents the line of light colors and structural lines for Spring 2009, so does Ralph Lauren.

Gianfranco Ferre offers us the pleasing elegant trapezium coat in a grey palette that is for everyday and special events! “Flowing” coats and rain-coats are tremendously trendy Spring 2009 season. Giorgio Armani’s silhouette is exactly a flowing one. Pastel shades of his Spring line suits look great at the warm sunny day! Nina Ricci is the adapter for extraordinary trenches for extravagant ladies. The half-trench is half-dress looks terrific with orange and complicated light pink and grey hues.

Parka

There are various types of parkas: sporty, casual or classical, that is possible to be worn to the theatre or for a walk with friends.
