Now let’s speak about fashion and style of AMA 2009 attendees. By the way, the event was held at L.A.’s Nokia Theatre yesterday (November 22).

My top pick is of course Rihanna in a strapless Marchesa gown with sexy floral cut-outs. The dress is truly special. It comes in an unusual shape and is black outside while being white on the inside. Fabulous white shoes and simple jewelry completed the attire.

What also deserves your attention here is Rihanna’s makeup. I think it’s crazy, not inspiring as the star might have hoped.

I love Versace and that’s why Shakira and her bright yellow strapless mini is the second on my list. Gorgeous figure plus absolutely marvellous frock and accessories make the 32-year-old beauty one of the best-looking on the red carpet.

Alicia Keys is the third with a hot blue dress embellished with gemstones.

She opted for beautiful blue shoes of the same hue, a tiny clutch and a set of sparkling jewelry to match the apparel.

Vivienne Westwood’s fan, Leona Lewis, comes next.

The dress she wore to the event was very like in style of the designer – royal luxury mixed with eccentric form in addition to simplicity of the idea. Robert Anthony ring fought for the attention of its own.

Nicole Kidman – embodiment of femininity – was dressed in a floor-sweeping one-shoulder gown. The pink dress was richly decorated with scales-like grey frills.

Black Eyed Peas soloist Fergie looked glamorous in a strapless glitzy gown by Georgio Armani Prive. And perfect black pumps to go with the dress.

The next four girls I’m going to talk about wore black to the red carpet. Colbie Caillat donned a sumptuous dress with a long train which she accessorised with black shoes and a white clutch.

Toni Braxton chose a gown with a deep decollete and a long slit. Wasn’t that too much to show?

Mary J.Blige goes in quite a contrast with Toni and shows nothing much. Her option is a floor-length body-fitting dress with a couple of knots to add sophistication. I like her wide bracelet and earings too.

Keri Hilson wasn’t that covered-up. She prefered a mini sparkling dress, a pair of chic suede shoes and a small exquisite clutch for the evening.

Christina Aguilera hosted the event. She was very beautiful on red carpet and changes many outfits during the awards ceremony.

The 27-year old songtress sang a 7-minute medley including: Beautiful, Keeps Getting Better, Dirrty, Fighter, Genie in a Bottle.

Christina is always about the drama, and wore plunging neckline, sequins, lace, and floral chiffon detailing. Her silver gown was great.

The 40-year-old Hawaiian and Dancing With The Stars’s Carrie Ann Inaba wore an Alberto Makali dress, jewelry by Safia, shoes by Report and bag by Mary Norton.

Ashley Tisdale graced the red carpet at the Nokia Theatre for the 2008 American Music Awards and looked hot in a silver and black shining dress paired with black heels. Her taupe organza frock looked great with an artistically beaded lace overlay. Her wrists were stacked with bracelets, I loved her funky earrings.

Young actress and songstress Demi Lovato dressed in nice white dress by Gustavo Cadile with black belt and black pumps. She accessorised it with beutiful silver earrings and white clutch.

Leona Lewis prefered to dress a silver short gown with ruffles and heels and clutch of the same colors. She looked fresh and so pretty!

And rock girl P!nk looked very glamourous and fab. Her style reminds of a beutiful mermaid. She wore a long silver and black dress by  Vivienne Westwood. It’s pretty fancy but I guess anything goes at the American Music Awards. The asymmetrical patchwork detailing is pretty rad and it matches P!nk’s style perfectly. I like her earrings!

Jordin Sparks was in bright yellow short dress which emphasized her tempting figure.  The American Idol alum brightened up the evening with her yellow chiffon frock, silver metallic sandals, red extensions, and fab smile. Colbie Caillat was bright too in her lettuce green outfit.

And the queen was Alicia Keys in her dark blue long one shoulder gown embroidered with crystals. Her bracelet, silver bindi and large earrings went very well with the dress.

Ali Landry won the audience in bright pink dress and radiant smile. Her dress by Ina Soltani was full of ruffles. The actress’s gown was paired with a black belt and matching platform shoes.

An arm bangle and black resin earrings completed her sexy and flirty look.

As for me Rihanna could dress something more beautiful than this white rag. But she accessoriezed the gown with nice jewelry and put sexy makeup on.

Teen celeb Shailene Woodley is known for her role in the ABC Family series “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” in which she stars as Amy Juergens. She looks amazing and very simple.

All girls from Pussycat Dolls looked well and sexy as usually.

I love this dress! And all this view of Taylor Swift. She is amazing and it’s true. Silver gown, grey pumps and beutisul hairdo were hot.

Pop princess Miley Cyrus opted for something short, sparkly, and with a twist of chic. Appreciate that black chiffon overlay. She dressed the gown with classic satin pumps and kept her jewelery to a minimum.
