Z Spoke collection designed by Zac Posen is interesting to look at. Modeled by two beauties, one of whom is Crystal Renn (Check out Crystal Renn’s bio and photos), the range is represented in a very emotional way. Girls strike unusual and lively poses and by doing that attract our attention to both themselves and the clothes they are wearing.

Garments presented in Z Spoke collection look quite expensive and stylish. They come in lovely colors including red, burgundy, grey, blue, white and black. Evening gowns are chic and work best to accentuate women’s curves. Cocktail dresses are more demure in design but look sexy and elegant. The black tight-fitting one is totally fabulous.

Jackets from Z Spoke by Zac Posen collection are quite luxurious. Cropped, classic-length and even those of longer styles are fantastic to team with dresses.

Vogue Japan Editor at Large Anna Dello Russo has made a move that now will be scrutinized by the fashion onlookers around the world now. In the behind-the-scenes video the stylist tapes Crystal Renn‘s eyes before applying makeup. Why? It didn’t make Crystal Renn look particularly Asian but, on the other hand it does have that connotation, at least from the side. People got offended but well is it the only reason to taping one’s eyes? Tape was used by actresses before facelifts emerged to give them a younger look or more feline eyes. So maybe it’s not what it looks like?

I think Crystal Renn is a great model and I do like some pieces from Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection that got a spread in Vogue Japan October 2011 issue. The spread looks great and Renn shows off some masculine and feminine outfits and looks amazing.

Anna Dello Russo said she loved Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 2011/2012 collection and it shows. Renn dons tuxedos, star-printed shirts and bejeweled wear on the photo set all from the designers’ latest collection. Though the tuxedo pants do look comical on Crystal Renn‘s frame.

In the beauty story “Call Her Diva” Renn sports bright colorful frocks and no less colorful makeup with fierce winged eyeliner topped with varying electric colors. Her hair styled in a bouffant 60′s style and she wears bright chunky jewelry and fur.

Let’s just remember Gisele Bundchen in Devil Wears Prada, Rosie in Tranformers, Sasha Pivovarova played a role in upcoming movie In Time (To be released on Oct.28) and Daria Strokous made an appearance in upcoming thriller Contagion (Out on September 9). Besides, Miranda Kerr is rumored to be cast for a movie by Harvey Weinstein and Crystal Renn also wanted to add acting experience to her resume (She’s model and a writer.) Lara Stone is the latest of models who expressed intentions to become an actress, too. Lara says singing isn’t for her but acting might be interesting.

In an interview for Vogue UK she revealed:

I would love to be in Zoolander 2. I’d be so good at that ‘Blue Steel’ pose. I think I’d enjoy doing that, it’d be funny. I’d like to try acting if the right part came along, but I’m not actively looking — I’m pretty busy at the moment. I definitely could never go into singing at all ever though, unless it was for a huge joke. I don’t even sing in the shower. Actually the other day I was in the shower and I didn’t realise my husband was in, and I sang away to myself. I got out and he gave me the most disdainful look.”

So, who’s next? I think Coco Rocha will be a really good actress. She can express different emotions wonderfully and every shoot she does is like a little performance. I do hope she’s considering to try acting. Freja Beha Erichson can be an interesting movie personality. And I would love to see Lily Donaldson in a film.

Zac Posen asked only five models to model his Pre-Fall 2011 collection: Crystal Renn, Leigh Lezark, Hilary Rhoda, Ruby Aldridge, and Anna Cleveland. And the girls did their best to showcase beautiful form-fitting cocktail dresses, floor-sweeping gowns, feminine coats with lazer-cut hemlines, high-waisted skirts, stylish jackets, pantsuits and chic fur coats.

While being very beautiful the collection is not that sophisticated. But it is rather versatile which is good for those of us who prefer adding fashion staples into wardrobes rather than statement pieces. Zac Posen chose to make items that will sell well. A wise decision.

Beth Ditto appeared at the catwalk in a laser-cut silver dress with plenty of the strips rippling over her body. She looked very confident and proud of herself. As Jean Paul Gaultier Spring/ Summer 2011 show went on other models followed including Crystal Renn, Natasha Poly, Coco Rocha and Sasha Pivovarova.

Clothing was designed fantastically. Despite the fact I do not usually like what Jean Paul Gaultier makes  I did love the Spring/ Summer 2011 collection. Lots of outfits were pretty wearable, and I can even say you don’t need much imagination to look cool in these.

Jean Paul Gaultier revived the strong shoulders on jackets which looked amazing. Lots of sheer fabrics, lace and corsets looked very sexy while the floral-printed dress with a puffy skirt was a really feminine piece.  And I absolutely admired the two-colored red-and-black shoes.

Dressed in expensive designer clothing and luxury jewelry Crystal is photographed with her hands dirty with sauce. She touches the food with her fingers and it doesn’t look very pleasant.

Probably the photos were supposed to look sexy, but they definitely don’t look tempting. Actually they make me sick. Why did Crystal agree to do such a pictorial???

London Fog is the world-known U.S. rainwear label that has been producing waterproof garments for over 87 years. To promote their Fall 2010 collection they invited Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks who seems to be the embodiment of beauty and femininity. The choice of the model for the campaign can be explained by the fact the brand has embraced the retro image this seaon. And who can do retro better than Christina Hendricks?

Christina Hendricks follows in the footsteps of Gisele Bundchen who was the face of London Fog last year but she definitely pictured a different image.

On the photographs Christina Hendricks looks perfect – so stylish, pretty and luxurious. Behind-the-scenes pictures show how her make-up and the beehive-style up-do were created.

Talking about the London Fog label Christina Hendricks mentions that trench coat is an iconic piece that is good for both men and women.

She said: ‘

The trench is such an iconic shape for men and women. It works for anyone – it worked in the 1960s and it works now.’

Commenting on the sexiest way to wear a trench coat Christina mentions that nothing under the coat is the best. Then she adds: ‘…but not if you want to walk out into the real world and not get arrested,’ she added.

Of course this is not the Chanel Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011 Campaign but it is a big step towards making fashion good for everyone. Nevertheless, Karl didn’t go far and Crystal Renn is only shot from her shoulders up. By contrast her male partner in the ad, Baptiste Giabriconi, is shown with his beautiful torso clearly visible.

Still it is a great victory for Crystal who feels priviledged to be working for Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld in particular.

She said:

Working with Chanel has been my dream forever. As long as I’ve been working as a model I’ve been thinking about Chanel and working towards Chanel and this campaign is the proudest moment of my life.’

This isn’t the first time Crystal Renn has worked for the label. She walked the red carpet for Resort 2011 collection along with Georgia May Jagger, Karolina Kurkova and lots of other models in St Tropez.

Held in Saint Tropez town Chanel show was groundbreaking. First, because it included over 80 looks both male and female. And second, because it featured plus-size model Crystal Renn that was a precedent fashion house never even admitted to happen.

Modeling expert and ANTM judge André Leon Talley on Chanel’s resort show said:

[Karl] Lagerfeld had cast the show with a slightly more curvaceous model named Crystal Renn, not seen on any Chanel catwalk before. This in itself was groundbreaking for the house, but there was also the return of personality models encouraged to be themselves instead of robotic look-alikes.”

What caused all these new things we don’t know, but the show was fantastic. Natasha Poly, Anja Rubik, Karolina Kurkova, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Freja Beha Erichsen, Georgia May Jagger and other world-famous beauties strutted down the runway barefooted and wearing really chic seventies-inspired diaphanous caftans, long crocheted dresses, ruffle-lapelled silk jersey trouser suits, and patchwork denim skirts. Many of the outfits left girls’ midriffs exposed while some were almost tarsparent and swimwear beneath looked very sexy.

The place for the show was chosen by Karl Lagerfeld.

He said:

I spent many years of my life here. I know Saint-Tropez like I know Paris. The collection is very casual, very down-to-earth.”

This time it’s Crystal Renn who opens up a new page with the photo shoot for V magazine. She is photographed together with the rising star Jacquelyn Jablonski.

The girls are both 5ft 9in tall and have long straight black hair but that’s all that is similar between them. Jacquelyn is 17 and very skinny, just like any other conventional model of nowadays. And Crystal, 23, is a famous plus-size model.

The shoot is intended to show people that plump girls can look as beautiful and hot as thin ones wearing the same clothes.

As it turned out Renn, who is a curvy size 16, looks as nice and sexy as Miss Jablonski. Both girls wear tribal-inspired outfits by high-fashion designers including Ralph Lauren, Versace and Dolce & Gabbana.

The pictures which were taken by top fashion photographer Terry Richardson, are the latest in a series of campaigns for designers and magazines to use models of different ages and body shapes.

In September we all saw British designer Mark Fast showcasing his creations on skinny models together with ones of a healthier size. The show caused a lot of controversy.

Crystal Renn tries to promote the idea of using curvier models at catwalks and making larger sizes of clothes. She has written a book detailing her own battle with the modelling industry, and the presssure to be thin. The book has already been received warmly by the public. It is entitled Hungry: A Young Model’s Story of Appetite, Ambition and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves.

Current sample sizes that models are all expected to fit into are ridiculous – a US size zero or British size 4 is the standard. They should go up to a British size 16. I’m not saying all models should be size 16, but bigger dresses can be pinned and adjusted, while tiny size zero clothes can’t really be changed. It means all these models starve themselves, like I did, to fit them.’

Recent events prove Renn’s idea is to be considered. This year two models have died from anorexia. Something has to be changed.

But zero size rein is difficult to destroy. Just last month Kate Moss added more fuel to the debate saying her motto is: ‘Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.’ Besides, this week Selfridges, a huge retailer in Britain, dropped plus-size fashion line Marina Rinaldi.

Well, being skinny myself it’s really hard for me to say something againt zero size models, but Renn does look good. What do you think about the shoot and the zero-plus-size-controversy?
