She is only 17 but has already achieved a lot. However, this doesn’t seem to have affected her perceptions in any way. Dakota Fanning, who covers the UK edition of Elle (February 2012 one), just doesn’t let the outer world get into her inner one. She is confident enough to understand who she is and what she wants (something many people don’t understand even in their 40s) and she is open enough to let us know that.

Dakota Fanning, who also covers the February 2012 issue of Cosmopolitan, looks very feminine and cute posing for both the front page and the inside pictorial of Elle magazine. In the interview for Elle February 2012 Dakota Fanning speaks a lot about herself and sister Elle, acting and being famous as well as her attitude to physical appearances topic.

Dakota Fanning on being 17 years old: “I feel like I’ve lived a long time, but then I realize, ‘Oh, I’m actually only 17.’ I don’t think there should be an age limit on an interest, do you know what I mean?”

Dakota Fanning on her dislike of attention to everything outside of her acting: “I just want to be an actress. I don’t really do anything attention-grabbing. Famous just sounds so pretentious. Who am I to call myself that word?”

Dakota Fanning on all talks about her physical appearance: “People are always talking about this person who looks great and that person who doesn’t. It’s there, if you let it in. I let it in to an extent. I just don’t let it affect the choices I make.”

Dakota Fanning on her younger sister Elle: “She is incredibly free-spirited and totally wears her heart on her sleeve, you know exactly what she is thinking by taking one look at her. She’s just incredibly… I don’t know, I wish I could be more like her sometimes.”

Dakota Fanning on the difference between her and Elle: “We see ourselves as to completely different entities. I mean, we don’t even look alike.”

The Fanning sisters look amazing on the cover of W Magazine December 2011 issue. Elle and Dakota pose together for a number of photographs inside the glossy. No bare bodies or provocative clothing but the images are as attractive as few can be. At least for me. To be sincere I was literally mesmerized with the photography.

The teenage stars sparkle on the W Magazine cover. Both are wearing dresses with luxurious golden embroidery and both look totally glamorous.

Several other pictures of Elle and Dakota Fanning feature them together. One pic shows us the two embraced, with lovely hats on their heads (Are those hats by Chanel?). On another Elle is whispering something very intriguing into her big sister’s ear. And the last demonstrates us a cute photo of the younger girl putting on lipstick on her elder sibling.

Elle and Dakota Fanning have also provided some interesting information for us to get to know them better. While Dakota was more serious and talked about her career and college, Elle opened up about boys and relationship with her sister.

Elle Fanning on relationship with Dakota: “She is a nice older sister. But it’s not like we always get along. Now that she’s going to college, it’s different. I went into her room at home in California, and all her clothes were gone! Her closet was empty! I don’t get to go in there and steal clothes anymore. It’s really strange. It’s sort of like she’s off making a movie, but this time she’s not coming back.”

Elle Fanning on her semi-love scene in Super 8: “I didn’t have to kiss him. But it was a boy-girl scene, and we had to like each other in the movie. All the other boys made fun of us because we had to like each other.”

Elle Fanning on her ballet classes: “Yes, five days a week. That’s something I always try to keep on my schedule. I would love to do a musical! Dakota did The Runaways, so she got to sing in that one.”

Elle Fanning on what she likes watching: Sometimes. We watch a lot of reality TV. My sister and I record Big Brother. We’re obsessed! And we love old game shows like Password and the original Family Feud. Also, me and my sister watch Criminal Minds. We record every episode, and we watch it every single night.”

Dakota Fanning on why she decided to go to college instead of focusing on career: “For the same reasons I wanted to go to a high school: You hear people say, ‘Oh, when I was in high school’ or ‘When I was in college.’ That defines a lot of who people are, and I didn’t want to miss out on that.”

Dakota Fanning on why she lives with her mother now: “No roommates. Because I’m only 17, my mom is staying with me in my apartment for a little bit. She’s teaching me how to wash clothes and such. But I’m so excited to be on my own. In my house in L.A., we all feel that everything is everybody’s, and so doors are never really closed. My sister and I share a bathroom, and when you have a sibling, nothing is actually your own. I’ve never really had anything or any place that was just mine.”

Dakota Fanning on being famous: “It’s all I’ve ever experienced, and it’s what I’m used to. When you’re 6 years old, which is when I started, I think you start forming how you think about things. I’ve dealt with being known for so long that it’s just kind of normal to me. And that attention comes with what I love to do, which is act.”

Dakota Fanning on how she deals with people who know she is a star: “I don’t know if I’ve ever gotten any formal advice, but I’ve always felt that you should never forget that you’re just a person. Even though you’re not like everyone else, you are just like everyone else. For instance, I met someone the other day, and they said, ‘Hi, I’m so-and-so.’ I said, ‘Hi, I’m Dakota.’ And they’re like, ‘Yeah, I know.’ But I can’t lose the fact that I still need to introduce myself to people even though they might already know my name or who I am. Oh, yeah, I guess you already know my name, but I’m going to say it anyway.”

Dakota Fanning on why she does acting: “I never have. It’s the only thing I feel like I know how to do well. I don’t really play any sports. [Laughs.] Maybe in college I’ll find something else to do if this doesn’t work out. But I’ve never wanted to do anything else.”

Marc Jacobs’ perfume campaign has finally been banned. Even at the time it was first released I believed this would happen. The designer’s idea of ‘contemporary Lolita’ was initially doomed to failure. Yes, Dakota Fanning, who at 17 years old looks like she is 15, is probably the perfect Nabokov’s Lolita (Vladimir Nabokov’s 12-year-old character in the controversial novel Lolita) and her role in The Runaways just adds highlight to it but in our society when children are oversexualized this is totally unacceptable.

Commenting on Oh Lola fragrance campaign Marc Jacobs said referring to the film:

Dakota was in it, and I knew she could be this contemporary Lolita, seductive yet sweet.”

However, and thanks God, some people didn’t take it and applied to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) which banned the campaign featuring Dakota Fanning. They explained the decision:

We considered that the length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality. Because of that, along with her appearance, we considered the ad could be seen to sexualize a child. We therefore concluded that the ad was irresponsible and was likely to cause serious offence.”

The modeling agency IMG spotted the girl at the age of 14. Since that time Taylor Momsem has done campaigns for Madonna’s Material Girl collection as well as the British clothes chain New Look.

Now being just 17, Taylor Momsem loses the job with one of the best modeling agencies that also work with Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen. And all this due to Taylor’s controversial behavior. By the way, her actions have already become the reason she was dropped from Gossip Girl. But she definitely doesn’t want to change.

Instead of Taylor Momsem Dakota Fanning has signed up with IMG. And she will definitely be a better choice.

Talking about her way of dressing Taylor Momsem said:

I dress for myself. Clearly, it’s provocative, but it makes me feel good. And if the only reason it makes someone uncomfortable is because I’m 17, then that person’s a scumbag because it shouldn’t matter. I really just put on what’s clean. The easiest thing to find in the morning because I’m usually running late. It’s just turned into style – I just don’t bother, I’m just too lazy.”

The only person who openly revealed her regret on what has happened was Taylor’s GG on-screen mother Kelly Rutherford.

She told HollywoodLife.com:

I think she’s young and is exploring her world and she’s exploring being an artist. I think it’s important to be fully expressed. She’s intelligent and she’s beautiful and it’s not as easy as everyone thinks it is for her, to be doing what she’s doing especially at her age and with her talent.”

Kristen Stewart disappointed me a lot with her dress again but that’s Ok, we have to put up with the fact she has no great fashion sense. The 20-year-old actress wore a white one-sleeve embroidered wool mini dress from Elie Saab. (See Kristen’s best and worst ever hairstyles!)

The next girl who also frustrated me with her dress choice was Ashley Greene. The actress who played Alice Cullen in the saga opted for a light blue shapeless Alexis Mabille Couture dress. She looked good but definitely not her best! (All Ashley’s hairstyles here.)

On the contrary, Anna Kendrick looked perfect in a frilly bronze strapless mini dress.

One of the cutiest and most feminine frocks on the red carpet was rocked by a hot blondie Dakota Fanning. The actress went for a beige lace one-shoulder cocktail dress by Elie Saab.

Elizabeth Reaser attracted attention with her super-short lace mini dress and sky-high Christian Louboutins.

Nikki Reed chose a blue feathered Marchesa dress for the premiere of The Twilight saga: Eclipse in Los Angeles. It was a wise decision as Marchesa has never failed to make women look stunning.

Bryce Dallas Howard looked beautiful in a yellow Christian Dior gown.

Jennifer Love Hewitt exposed a lot of keg in a pretty LBD and golden shoes.

Julia Jones was all smiley at the event. She wore a gorgeous Marchesa dress, Brian Atwood pumps, Judith Leiber clutch and Chopard jewels.

Victoria’s Secret model Marisa Miller sported a sparkling electric blue dress and black pumps.

Pete Facinelli was accompanied by his wife Jennie Garth on the red carpet. Both looked great!

And of course, the evening wouldn’t be so intersting if Kardashians didn’t arrive. These girls are always up for publicity.

With every new premiere of The Twilight saga I think that the craziness has reached its top and the next part of the story will not be as expected and praised. But each time I’m mistaken and, you know, I like that, because I’m a huge fan of the movies myself!

Ashley Greene looks like a princess in Oscar de la Renta dress and Christian Louboutin shoes. The actress has recently posed for Women’s Health July 2010 showing off her toned body. She gave a short interview for the magazine telling she would like to have more feminine curves rather than a child’s body.

Dakota Fanning and Bryce Dallas Howard wore sumptuous red dresses and red lipstiick. Both looked very glamorous.

To tell you the truth, I can’t wait watching Eclipse coming out on June 30. The Twilight saga that is number 1 in my collection of favorite films is getting more and more interesting and judging by trailers Eclipse is going to be the best of the three films.

The ceremony was held at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City on Monday (June 7). Everything was just fantastic: the light, the music and the stars arriving one by one to the event. And then it all began.

The winners heard their names and walked to the stage to get their award. Some were happy and smiling, others seemed to be surprised and a bit embarassed.

Marc Jacobs was named the Womenswear Designer of the Year while Marcus Wainwright and David Neville for Rag & Bone got the prize as Menswear Designers of the Year.

Alexander Wang got the Swarovski Award for Accessories and his colleage Jason Wu received the Swarovski Award for Womenswear. Swarovski Award for Menswear was given to Richard Chai.

Alexis Bittar was honored as Accessory Designer of the Year. And the last but one of the most prestigious, Popular Vote Award, was presented to Ralph Lauren.

Despite the fact all the statues were given to men, plenty of famous ladies attended the ceremony of 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards. Majority of these you can see here. I will not comment on their outfits and give you the chance to express your opinions!
