Winter is a nice, beautiful season but there are certain things that irritate us about it.
It is of course the temperature and lack of colours. Everything looks so monotonous… grey, faded and drab. White snow looks perfect but sooner or later you get bored of it.
That is why it is so important to choose color palette for your winter clothes.
It should cheer you up, comfort and give positive emotions. Fashion for winter 2009 is rather contradictory in this respect. Black and grey are the hottest trend colours, though one can hardly describe them as optimistic or invigorating.
Here are ten colours that will be popular this winter:
Black
No wonder it is again in fashion. Designers love it and we do either. It seems to be comfortable, practical, noble, and what is even more important - black creates a leaner image of us.
Besides, it goes well with all closing items we have in the wardrobe. Black garments do not usually become old-fashioned; in case they do you can wear them as vintage ones.
Zac Pozen, Sandler, Chanel, Rad Hourani
The peculiarity of fashion for black in this season is that every item of our outfit should be black – headwear, a scarf, a blouse, a skirt or trousers, a coat or a jacket, tights (black opaque tights are a hot winter trend) and of course footwear (shoes or boots).
Accessorize your look with black gloves and a bag of the same colour.
Black and white
This season the combination of black and white takes on special significance. These tints are vastly included into office and business style outfits and evening wear as well.
Temperley, Julien MacDonald, Naeem Khan, Jens Laugesen
It looks elegant and is rather practical because you can wear the garments of this colour mix for various occasions accessorizing your looks with various bags and jewellery.

It’s not clear if it’s rumor or truth, but French fashion house Christian Dior has signed Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard to be a new face of the ever popular and iconic Lady Dior bag, famously carried by the late Princess Diana, Princess of Wales.
The ads with Marion Cotillard, the Academy Award winning actress for the French movie Le Vie en Rose, will be presented within the year.
Monica Bellucci, Diane Kruger and the First Lady of France, Carla Bruni and others were featured in the Dior campaign.
This handbags have been spotted on the arm of some of the world’s most beautiful and fashionable celebrities including Dita Von Teese and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Also Charlize Theron has worked with the Frenth fashion house for several years for their perfume campaigns, while sexy supermodel Gisele Bundchen is currently working on the company’s spring 2009 clothing campaign ads.
Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen has signed another modeling contract, which begins the ball rolling for the Spring 2009 campaigns.
She is a face of Max Factor and promotes Ipanema plastic eco-sandals.
Gisele will be the face of Dior for Spring 2009 as it was reported on her own blog earlier. Gisele was in the Dior Spring and Autumn 2004 ads made by Nick Knight.
According to her blog, Gisele flew to Paris for the photoshoot. She takes over from Daria Werbowy who is at present appearing in the Autumn ads.
Dior certainly decided to shell out the big bucks for a trading face this season to embolden customers to shop, because every girl wants to be entirely like Gisele.
The former lingerie model, Eva Herzigova is appearing in a sequence of ads for Dom Perignon’s new 1996 Rose Vintage by Karl Lagerfeld.
The 35-year-old supermodel, best known for her iconic Wonderbra billboard adverts, living rooms around what looks like a elegant and rich hotel suite in the campaign.
She looks just as fab in the new ads for Dom Perignon, knocking back champagne and posing in ornate undies.
The idea of advertising campaign a simple story about a beautiful, young blonde woman who gets the biggest room in a luxury hotel. There is a bottle of champagne, lots of clothes featured in the ad.
She makes a shopping merriment trip to Dior and back to the hotel, sips even more Dom Perignon while admiring her clothes until she finally invites herself in a young man’s room, right next door to her apartment, ending up in his bed.
Eva is modern, stylish, beautiful and so romantic!

Viviana Pannell displayed the latest designs from her Basquesse label. As she promised a show was full of “spectacular couture gowns made in crystal beaded fabrics” which are “only dreamed of.”
Her new collection of high end daywear, evening and bridal gowns consists of a standout leather jacket with a high ruffle collar and four made to standard “couture” gowns that designer made and suited especially for four Wellington models, who arrived in Auckland to present the line.
The elegant materials - Italian brocades and rich silks, which came from the same supplier to Dior and Elie Saab, also did a lot of the talking.
Their supplier contacted me, I don’t know how he found me or why, but he offered to sell me his wares and we’re really excited because we have been looking for exclusivity in fabrics. They are exclusive to Basquesse in New Zealand and Australia, and some of the fabrics I have selected are exclusive to us worldwide,” Pannell said.
Fall/Winter 2008 designer collections have presented us with some new tendencies. One of the ever new trends is, of course, classic. Classic never gets old. Designers can rediscover it every new season and it will anyway look totally irresistible and beautiful. Details add new chic and charm but generally don’t radically change the tendencies.
So classic style hits the balance between extravagance and casual style, it might be a starting point for some designers and a stumbling block for others. Classic makes you follow its rules but is at the same time flexible enough to absorb brand new tendencies. So, shortly, classic never gets old.
So as for main autumn/winter 2008-2009 tendencies, they were presented during Milan, London and Paris Fashion Weeks earlier this year, and the tendencies surely include classic style with retro chic and charm of the ‘60s.
Chanel is fabulous as always. Classic hues – gray, white, black, lavender and blue – were presented in short skirts, long jackets with fringing, voluminous sleeves, pleated and corrugated folds, voluminous sweaters.
Traditional Chanel accessories like cameos, flower brooches, gloves, and belts were seen on the catwalk alongside this season’s new must-have, chains.
Dior catwalk show brought us back to early ‘60s – short sleeves, voluminous skirts, trapezium shape dresses along with cute and stylish hats, sunglasses, gloves and handbags that truly revived the spirit of the ‘60s.
The fashion house used satin, chiffon, silk, shantung to create the designs. Dior’s collection is more colorful than that of Chanel.
One could see pistachio green, crimson, turquoise blue, and purple outfits on the runway. The collection was really feminine and really retro, which was undoubtedly one of its advantages. We just loved the hats.
Valentino’s consummate mastery to create high fashion has always been praised. This fall the fashion house sticks to the 1960s classic using bright colors and elegant feminine style. Pastel pink, coffee-colored, blue, radiant white, different shades of gray stressed the styles but at the same time didn’t distract attention from the designs.
Models were sporting tulip dresses, see-through small collar elegant blouses, bell shaped sleeveless silk gowns, dresses and skirts with asymmetric fasteners, lots of ruches and big bows.
Some of the dresses and suits were decorated with really big buttons of some matching color. The collection was well balanced in its reference to form and content and was filled with genuine Valentino spirit, though some said the show missed famous Valentino’s red garments.
Fall/Winter 2008 classic is harmony of volume and slender lines. One can see it in every cloth item presented at runway shows. Trousers are part of the tendency. They can be made superslim like leggings or treggings or bell-bottomed high-waisted ones. Elegance is what actually matters.
Elegance reins this fall and winter. Even in power dressing, which is back on the fashion agenda this season. No scaffold like shoulder pads or block colour suits, power dressing gets to be more feminine, aesthetic and even sexy this time around. Subtly structured suits, tailored dresses that accentuate the female form, bold jewellery and the return of dressing up is the look for this season’s woman in control.
The time doesn’t stop. August is the last summer month and autumn will come.

Are sunglasses only nice accessories?? No, they need for your eye’s health. It is important to protect your eyes against damage from the sun.
When you hit the sunglass racks, remember that lens color (dark or mirrored) doesn’t necessarily mean better protection from UV rays. In fact, dark lenses have the potential to distort colors, even the red and green on traffic lights. The darker the lenses, the greater the chance your pupils (dark part of the eye) will dilate and let in more damaging UV light. That said, it might be best to consider amber, neutral gray, brown or green colored lenses.

When it comes to polarized lenses, they do have the potential to minimize glare, but by themselves, don’t block UV rays. No matter what the color lens or whether or not they are polarized, the most important
