Dita Von Teese wears clothes that can make her feel more confident. The queen of lingerie has confessed that clothes have always played an important role in her life and still do.

She said:
I used clothes as a way to counteract my extreme shyness when I was younger. I wore a lot of extravagant vintage hats, which can make people somewhat intimidated. I think people will only approach if they have something very, very interesting to say to the girl in the outrageous hat.”
The burlesque dancer has never wanted to be an ordinary girl and clothes helped her to create the new, more attractive image for her.
She said:
I always felt like a very ordinary looking girl, and I found that dressing in a unique way made me feel less ordinary and more glamorous.”
Dita who prefers mostly vintage-styled outfits says she is impressed with the fashion sense of pop star Lady Gaga.
She commented:
Great style icons aren’t afraid of being the subject of a little ridicule here and there. I love it! I am impressed with Lady Gaga right now. She is proving to be a really eccentric dresser.”

Joan Collins says most modern stars look bad, even “sloppy”.
The 76-year-old actress, who has always been known for her perfect sense of style and appearance feel really frustrated about the fact young actresses and other celebrities do not care much of how they look in public and can choose to wear too casual styles in everyday life.

Sadly, I’m hardly pressed to come up with a list of current stylish movie stars when they’re not red-carpet ready. That is usually an illusion soon shattered by candid pictures of the red-carpet star looking awful the next day, coping with airport paparazzi or a fractious infant. Perhaps those beauties of the golden age of Hollywood were so totally protected and cosseted by the studio system that they never had to contend with the prying eyes of the constant paparazzi and the continual invasion of their privacy.”
She commented:
Of course, styles have changed radically. No one wants to look like Pola Negri or Gloria Swanson ant more. Their overly make-up, overdone clothes and hair may have been what our grandmothers or great-grandmothers admired, but today they would be simply laughable.”
However, the Hollywood actress believes the situation can change if women try to look better. But according to Joan there are still beauties who make the most of their looks.
The list of those includes big names, like Dita Von Teese, Nicole Kidman and some others.
She said:
There are many exceptions. Dita Von Teese looks incredible with her black hair, her hourglass figure and red lips, as do the beauteous Beyonce Knowles and the stunning Nicole Kidman and Angelina Jolie.

When we say “stylish” we actually mean “well-dressed”. How many modern stars can we call stylish?

Lots. But who of them are style icons? The question is difficult to answer as almost none of them can be compared to Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo, Sophia Loren or Audrey Hepburn in their ability to combine garments keeping the same style all the time.

Personal style can hardly be seen nowadays. Personal style can turn a woman into a goddess with the help of a wardrobe only.
And as time and life experience shows, not every woman can become a goddess. But one has to try, try hard! After all, isn’t that the most favorite women’s game to cope with financial worries somehow and despite everything surprise people with their looks during a celebration or other special occasions?
In search of a style
Personal style is something visible at the first sight. It is more important than any fashion trends and ready images.

Ordinary women try to imitate styles of popular divas but does it really worth doing? There are just a few of celebs who really have their style to show.
Let’s start from Madonna who’s considered a queen of pop music.
In 2000 she was recorded into Guinness’s book for creation of 85 images during her career: from a vicious angel in her music video Like a Virgin to a cute demon from her Ray of Light tour.
It is great and notable of course, but I doubt that our kids will know how to describe Madonna’s style.

So, what’s Madonna’s style? It’s a set of highly fashionable items. Madge changes her images like gloves. She is new for each new tour: from cowboy simplicity to a vintage chic.
Madonna will always be a fashion icon but she will never be a style icon unfortunately.

The 36-year-old burlesque beauty says:
When I was young, I was given advice for becoming rich and famous. I did neither. There are many women who want to be actresses or models, but nobody wants to be a great stripper. What I wanted was not to be like everyone else, so I said I want to be a stripper.”

Dita on her collection of lingerie:
I’m a crazy girl with an obsession for lingerie. It is not a question of seduction, but of femininity, which is very different.
Through fashion, you can be a flirt.”

Dita Von Teese presented her new Wonderbra line from a powerful basis – a giant padded sequined bra.

The DailyMail reports that Dita Von Teese Wonderbra line is a mix of vintage underwear with shapes from the 1950s and fabrics from the 1940s.
The “Wonderbra by Dita Von Teese” line includes garter belts, panties, suspenders, thongs and, of course, bras inspired by old Hollywood glamour. Also the collection includes a mixture of suspenders, which Von Teese says are so comfortable that she wears them every day.

She said:
Every woman needs a little moment of beauty to have for herself.
Underwear isn’t just something that you put on for your lover – you wear it for you.” “It’s not about seducing men, it’s about embracing womanhood.”

At the press launch in London’s Covent Garden Dita Von Teese posed for photographers swinging on a giant
model of one of her bras wearing a peach dress and ultra-high heels.
My first job when I was 15 years old was working in a lingerie store,” she told Reuters. “I worked there for many years and my obsession and love of lingerie is really what made me become a pinup model and burlesque dancer.”
The collection is available in Europe starting Sept. 23.
You can see the Wonderbra film The Science of Sexy features Dita VonTeese playing the role of Heather, a mousey blonde scientist who uncovers the “sexy” gene. A Wonderbra materialises before her eyes and changes her into the alluring Dita Von Teese persona she is best known for.
