Ashley Greene has long been praised for her style, so it was just a matter of time that she landed a fashion campaign. Yesterday DKNY announced her to be their new face.

Ashley Greene, the new DKNY Ambassador, is very excited about what happened:

Although personally I prefer elegance and sophistication when it comes to fashion sometimes simplicity and comfort are what we actually need. And there was a lot of that in DKNY Spring/ Summer 2012 collection showcased during New York Fashion Week.

Donna Karan opted for simple flowing silhouettes, light fabrics and beautiful accessories. Shirt-dresses looked feminine while summery short suits and sleeveless jacket-inspired dress reminded that women’s and men’s fashion tend to merge in our days.

The colors in DKNY Spring/ Summer 2012 collection were lovely: from neutral black and white to vivid blue, red and pink. Prints were also present– florals that were smudged to the extent one would take them for animal prints.

Every look in her in DKNY Spring/ Summer 2012 collection Donna Karan finished with a wide-brimmed hat. These hats when monotone looked classy but when colorblocked added the necessary accent to outfits.

If before only vintage-clothing-lovers like Alexa Chung and Carey Mulligan wore peter pan collars, now everyone from Hailee Steinfeld to Michelle Williams are spotted wearing the trendy piece, and not just on the daily basis but also to glam events and photo shoots for glossy magazines.

Peter pan collars are widely presented in Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 collections by Giambattista Vally, DKNY, Louis Vuitton and other brands and designers. Besides, they come in a great variety, from prim collars to oversized and even detachable.

Peter pan collars can look simple and make outfits cute and feminine, or be glamorous if they come embellished with sequins, beads or stones.

Cute frilled mini dresses, midi-length frocks, trousers cut at the ankle, and fantastic scarves used as tops, dresses and normal scarves wrapped around models’ necks – all these are beautiful and feminine. Besides, lots of attention was given to the white blouse, that very versatile item we all wear from time to time because it looks formal and elegant.

From the details that I noticed as innovative were the grosgrain ribbons used as belts and tied into perfect bows. Good idea, very good. The shoes are wonderful though they aren’t actually new in design. They are just pleasant to look at.

There is no way they can be torn away from each other as together they look like a one single piece of DKNY fashion and chic.

Dressed in pretty and stylish items girls look great. Each picture features models wearing a certain type of clothing. For example, on one of the photos you can see them sporting classic garments: a trenchcoat, a coctail dress, black trousers, white jacket, etc – as if all the girls were at an office meeting now.

Lingerie on the outside

Sexy bustier and bra tops are not to be worn underneath our clothes any more. They are our clothes!

The trend was spotted at Stella McCartney, Fendi, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Jean Paul Gaultier, Isaac Mizrahi shows.

Knotting and draping

Nothing complicated. The role model to be copied is Ancient Greek clothes. Fits perfectly and glosses any shortcomings over. Im totally into Burberry’s dresses!

Legs in shorts

Summer is a perfect season to show the strongest weapon of all women- legs. It is high time to use it. Watch out, guys! It’s up to you which one to choose tap pants from Cynthia Rowley or some micro shorts by Balmain ,short shorts and boy shorts by Blumarine or hotpants from Mark Jacobs.  You’ll hot in any of them!

Sheer

Light see-through dresses and blouses are a good way to turn up the heat this spring. They are so sexy but never vulgar. So don’t be afraid to choose some chiffon dress for a party like Vera Wang’s or the tiny one by Versace.

Blazer

Top the feminine dress with an austere blazer. Pair the pantsuit with some high heals-  elegance is our strength, girls!

I so love Ralph Lauren’s suits and boyfriend blazers by Pringle of Scotland! Don’t you also?

Prints, and moreover patterned pants!

This summer is so rich in prints even our trousers are no longer to be block color. Some sweet patterned pants were spotted at Matthew Williamson and Luella, DKNY, Etro, Balenciaga , Anna Sui’s fashion shows.

There is a huge variety of print patterns to wear: stripes, florals, graphic prints and abstract shapes.In any of them  you’ll look fashionable.

Touch of sparkle

The trend that is built to last. The only rule: try to be chic not showy

Belts

Show off your curls and accentuate it with a skinny (like Pringle of Scotland and Paul Smith) or wide leather belts (Oscar de la Renta and Gucci). Every fashionista knows the right way to wear them!

Jumpsuits

Jumpsuits keep abandoning runways and our lives too! I would say more: jupsuits are must-haves this summer!  They are so easy to wear. Pair your jumpsuit with some big accessories and you won’t leave a party unnoticed.  The one like Vera Wang’s will do the thing!

Nudity and ice-cream colors

The vast majority of shows opened up with all shades of nude, peach and lavender colors (Donna Karan, Versace, Burberry, Miu Miu)

While some people might be scared that wearing nude will make them look pale or washed out, this can be a colour that anyone can embrace.

White

White is definitely a summer color. Laconic clear lines and the noblest color together will give you tremendous effect.

So hit the ivory coast with an all-white palette of romantic and immaculate looks in everything from softly tailored pantsuits(Gucci) to whipped-up, airy little dresses like Cacharel’s.

There are four pictures that feature eight models wearing outfits from Spring-Summer 2010 range. Each photo presents clothes of a certain style and coloring. The first one shows pretty coctail dresses, classy suits, fabulous shoes and lovely handbags. The flower patern is going to be hot this season.

At the second picture we see garments of steet style, those one would like to wear every day. They are comfortable and look good.

The third photo shows girls wearing draped blouses in style of a Grecian Goddess. I can’t say I like those but still the picture looks nice.

And the last pic demonstrates romantic and feminne garments: white blouses of all possible styles, and short skirts and cutoffs of pastel tones.

So, it comes as no surprise that she finaly agreed to collaborate with the chain retailers to create her own fashion range.

The 26-year-old said:

I was being offered so many collaborations for a long time, but I held off. I thought it was quite a ‘sellout’ thing to do.”

Alexa isn’t going to be just a spokesperson for the line.

The brand’s chairman Millard Drexler told WWD:

There is no grand scheme to this, and we still don’t want to hire a celebrity spokesperson.It’s just that Alexa is totally cool. It’s not the way she looks or dresses. It’s the way she is.”

The upcoming range is to be inspired by Alexa’s personal style. It will include dungaree dresses, high-waisted skinny jeans, polka dot tea dresses and oversized wool jackets.

Why her wardrobe choices are so important? Because last year Alexa was named the most stylish woman by Vogue!

Donna Karan named her new Spring/Summer 2010 line a “City in Bloom” and collection played pastels off a multitude of floral, consist of amazing small peonies and spray of floral-camo and bright prints that were definitely less so.

Navy silk was adorned with floral prints and sequins, or monochromatic dresses shaped red graphic rose prints, also there were sash-waisted romper suits, black-and-white scribble-blossom skirt suit.

Interesting idea as cycling shorts keek off from under the pair of tailored shorts or mini-skirt and flexible silk blazers and oversized boyfriend jackets were dressed with dailywear cuffed shorts or preppie tapered trousers made of chino.

Models were chic and sporty, walked in urban neutrals and bold, bright colors.

Collection is the best variant for casual wear and office style for next S/S 2010!
