We have been waiting for this for over 7 years and finally Atelier Versace has returned to Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. The return was triumphal. 16 models were standing on the stage showcasing the fantastic designs which Donatella was clearly very proud of.

The principle Donatella Versace used to create her couture dresses was still the same – to make dresses as tight as possible to accentuate the beauty of a woman’s figure. The corseted items came with sheer panels, gold metal insets, beads and plastic paillettes. The designer’s attention to details was incredible.

The color scheme of Versace Couture collection is not limited to grey only. It also includes bright red and yellow, green and gold.

Some dresses in Versace Couture collection come super short – in signature length for Versace – while others are floor-sweeping. There are also sexy bodysuits topped by jackets in the matching color.

The footwear in Versace Couture range looks even more interesting than the dresses. The shoes themselves are classic and elegant coming in the grey hue. But they are occasionally finished with special details reminding us of gaiters which make the shoes look sexy and unusual sometimes transforming them into thigh-high boots.

Normally models start their careers at an early age of 13 to 15 but Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s daughter Kaia is a different case. She is just 10 years old but has already been invited to star in Versace campaign.

Kaia has made her modeling debut from an iconic Versace brand and that’s the start others can only dream of. The girl looks very pretty posing in a cropped leather jacket, a white top, and a short skirt featuring the brand’s signature print. Her footwear disappoints hugely though. A pair of weird-looking sandals comes with socks in the matching color.

Kaia does not represent adult’s line (No controversy is planned!). Instead, she strikes a pose for the new, and first in its type, Young Versace campaign which is designed for children from up to 12 years old to wear.

Of course Kaia couldn’t work without her mother’s permission and presence at the site. The supermodel, who used to work with both Gianni and Donatella Versace, said she felt very proud of her daughter.

Cindy Crawford said:

I’m so thrilled that Kaia was chosen to be part of the first Young Versace Campaign. I have so many fond memories of the times I spent with Gianni and Donatella. There is something so very special about the House of Versace. I am so proud of her.”

Donatella Versace also commented on Kaia’s work:

Like her mother, Kaia has a very special gift. The camera really, really loves her.”

It’s horrible to write about this but Donatella Versace doesn’t think real women are good enough for wearing her clothes… This conclusion I’ve made after reading the news that she didn’t approve real women for modeling her designs for H&M.

As you know Donatella Versace has recently launched an affordable collection for a high street store H&M which is a great success with customers. But some displeasing information about the photoshoot has emerged today. It is reported that the Daily News arranged a shoot for real NYC women to model pieces from Versace for H&M line but out of three best photos only one was approved by Donatella. The explanation was simple – the woman didn’t “fit [Versace’s] branding.”

Well, unfortunately or fortunately we are not all waif-models who usually demonstrate Versace clothing but we love the brand and we want to wear it. Why saying things like that? Who is that collection intended for then, if not us?

P.S. H&M deny the rumors they we also behind taht denial. They name all teh situation just a ‘misunderstanding.’ They commented:

We are very surprised by the NY Daily news article and do not understand how they came to this conclusion. We can only explain it as a misunderstanding and a series of miscommunication. H&M is a democratic fashion brand and it is not our policy to decide models for fashion features in media. Both H&M and Versace have, over many years, cast from a wide and diverse pool, not only of models, but of celebrities and personalities reflective of all ethnicities, gender, ages and sizes.

If yesterday all fashion bloggers were speaking about how amazing Lady Gaga and Selena Gomez were at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards, today we all are talking about Jennifer Lopez, who looked fabulous at the US version of 2011 Glamour Women of the Year.

The ceremony, that was held at Carnegie Hall in New York City, honored women who have achieved the most in 2011. These achievements include serious things like ovarian cancer research and discovering a supernova as well as more entertainment ones.

Jennifer Lopez was the star of the night. She was named the Woman of the Year and received her accolade from designer Donatella Versace, who created the dress Lopez was wearing. The style advice JLo gave to other ladies was simple: “My grandma taught me, always go out looking nice, because people like that.” How wise!

Lea Michele looked shining at the 2011 Glamour Women of the Year. She received The Diva Next Door award from her Glee co-star Jonathan Groff. The actress wore a wonderful Jenny Packham dress that she paired with Sergio Rossi shoes, and Tiffany & Co jewels. Jimmy Choo handbag finished the look.

Jessica Alba appeared at the 2011 Glamour Women of the Year to present designer Tory Burch with The Fashion Force award. To double Burch’s pleasure Alba wore a sparkling dress from her collection.

Emma Stone was also in attendance at the 2011 Glamour Women of the Year event. She was invited to present the 21 Years, 21 Young Women award to twenty-one extraordinary ladies who dedicated their lives to making a difference in the world. Emma looked terrific in a yellow Lanvin dress.

Jennifer Aniston arrived to the 2011 Glamour Women of the Year with a great purpose. She was to give The Queen of the Night award to her friend Chelsea Handler. Jennifer went black for the occasion. Her fashion options for the big day were: a Versace dress, Celine shoes, and Fred Leighton jewels.

Versace Spring/ Summer 2012 collection was all about the sea life. It featured lovely colors of turquoise, sea green, grey, and aqua. Prints which looked really fabulous showed sea shells and scallops. And the girls all looked like sea goddesses with their beautiful hair cascading as if it was floated on water.

Versace Spring/ Summer 2012 collection comprised brand’s signature minidresses and amazing floor length gowns as well as bandeau tops paired with bloomer shorts and jackets. Shoes were all platformed and adorned with flower-shaper details.

The Couture Fall 2011 show was amazing though. Deemed lights, visual illusion of rain that has just fallen, and total glam of the beginning of the 20th century created the atmosphere of something very interesting to take place. And probably the idea was good as well because Karl Lagerfeld tried to show the full life story of legendary Coco Chanel.

The clothing showcased during Chanel Couture Fall 2011 fashion show was actually rather wearable. Tweed and velvet skirt suits trimmed with fur, embroidered and embellished with beads looked a bit dull but they had that attractive vintage feel we like. Besides, they are classic and can be perfect for many occasions.

Leather knee-high boots from Chanel Couture Fall 2011 collection looked lovely but those which looked like made of plastic weren’t good at all. And the fingerless gloves didn’t fit in the range. They would probably look more stylish if worn with something different from what Lagerfeld dressed his models in.

The diffusion line of Versace for H&H will launch this autumn, in November, and will be available in all H&M stores. It will include 40 pieces for women and 20 for men which will be very reasonably priced – from £50 ($81) to £70 ($114) for dresses and £10 ($16) for accessories.

Donatella Versace, who once told she would never do a diffusion line, has changed her mind. She said:

I am thrilled to be collaborating with H&M and to have the opportunity of reaching their wide audience. The collection will be quintessential Versace, perfect for H&M and Versace fans everywhere.”

Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M commented on the collaboration:

Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times, and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and flamboyant – everything Versace stands for. Donatella Versace is sharing with us iconic designs from the archives. This is such a celebratory collaboration and is perfect for the party season.”

Riccardo Tisci commented:

I feel sorry for John. But for this moment I am leaving aside all the gossip of “I am going here, I am going there,” because there is a lot of gossip circulating and there always will be. I will tell you, in this moment, I am very happy at Givenchy and it is a moment in which I am bringing the game to the next level. So I tell you, I feel at home. It’s as if it were my son. I don’t know how to explain it. It would be very difficult for me to leave.”

Talking to Donatella Versace Riccardo Tisci told her it was Gianni Versace that since early age was great inspiration for him. He also mentioned he would love to dress Donatella as he believed she was ‘so much of a Givenchy woman’.

Riccardo Tisci said:

Donatella, you are so much of a Givenchy woman! I say it because I want the world to know. For me, aesthetically, you represent what the Italian woman is. There is always the American rock thing, the aristocratic, above-the-rest British manner, but Italy is at the heart of it. In fact, you and I have tried several times to do projects together. I would really love to see you dressed in Givenchy.”

Riccardo Tisci on his family, life and fashion: “My great strength, which I very much believe in, is family. For me, family doesn’t simply mean components of DNA. I mean family in the sense of siblings. My mom and my sisters are the energy and inspiration in my life. For me, fashion is a job. I love it. It’s my passion. But the most important thing for me in general is life. I was lucky. From the time I was a little, I was always surrounded by women, and I am very attracted to the feminine world, because I love the strength and romanticism, which in the end, you can find in my style.”

Riccardo Tisci on influence of Versace brand on him: “It was the late ’70s and the ’80s, which was a certain moment of Versace—especially for me with a sister who worked at a hair salon and brought home fashionmagazines on Saturdays. Of course, Versace is, in my opinion, still the flag of Italy; it represents Italy. It meant the arrival of top models, of celebrities, Gianni, Donatella, all the things that made me dream. Those early visions make a big impression.”

Riccardo Tisci on vulgarity: “I hate vulgarity. I hate vulgarity even though it attracts me—and it attracts me very much. I love all that is transgressive or vulgar. But in my opinion, it has to reach a limit that is always a little surreal and never becomes in your face. I say to you sincerely that what I very much admire about the Versace maison, and what I am still trying to learn to do myself as I am still young, is that from day one until today, Versace is the peak of sexy but never crosses that red line into the vulgar. Many other brands that have tried to outdo Versace have crossed that line. But I think that’s what you and I have in common, Donatella, that careful balance. It makes me proud to be an Italian. In the end, I am proud to do what I do.”

Riccardo Tisci on having someone to give opinions about his creations: “It’s super-essential. Even though I don’t have a very big team, for me, the word muse may be démodé or not. I adore it, but I am also one, in my delirium, to be quite classical. For a designer—especially a male designer—he absolutely has to have that female voice by his side, which he listens to, he filters, he digests. It’s a huge need, because when you see through the eyes of a man, you see a woman a certain way, and how they have little tricks of their own. And like I said before, my luck has always been how I’ve had a family of women around me, and I have women who are very close to me now—for example, Mariacarla [Boscono], Carine Roitfeld, Marina Abramovic. I have different women whom I adore and value. Everyone thinks that for many years Carine Roitfeld was my stylist, which is not true. Carine was like Mariacarla to me. Yes, there are some people whom I esteem and want their opinion first, but that’s my way. Maybe that’s because I’m 36 years old, and in a while, I will slightly let go. It is difficult for me to delegate. In the end, I do have two or three people on my team who I listen to.”

Riccardo Tisci on his favorite music that provokes emotions in him: “At the moment, I am fixated on Nicki Minaj and Antony and the Johnsons, but I’m also one who changes around in music a lot. I love the conceptual aspect of Antony Hegarty or the voices of those back in the day like Lil’ Kim, Missy Elliott, Ciara. I love what evokes emotion in me. We are Italian. We are all little tribes—not only in fashion, but also in music—in everything, basically. I am close friends with Marina Abamovic´ , so I love strong, very aggressive political art. She is like a mom who wants to adopt me. I love that whole world but I also love hip-hop and R&B. People always say, “You are dark, you make dark dresses. You probably only love The Cure or Diamanda Galás.” I love Diamanda Galás, but I also love Madonna, Beyoncé, and Courtney Love. They are all from different worlds, but they all evoke emotions in me. I am someone who needs emotions and needs to transmit them. If that weren’t the case, I’d be better off changing professions.”

Riccardo Tisci on couture fashion: “When I started, everyone said couture was finished and I was so scared. Actually I was more terrorized than scared. I was arriving from a provincial area of Italy. They called me in to do Givenchy and I just thought, Wow. The first thing I did was sign my name. But I have to be sincere, I did that because my mom was leaving our family home and that thought really upset me. In a way, I didn’t even think . . . It could have been Givenchy, it could have been anywhere, but the fact of thinking of my mother in a home for the elderly . . . I don’t have anything against homes for the elderly, but my mom, after having nine children, after all the sacrifices, living in an apartment—it gave me anxiety. Being the only male in the family, I said, “No I can’t let this happen.” Therefore I signed, because I wanted to buy a house for my mom. I started at Givenchy and the whole fashion world was saying, “Couture is finished.” No, couture is not finished. Couture has changed—thank goodness.”

Riccardo Tisci on on his romantic side: “In spite of the fact that everyone thinks I am very much a Rottweiler—that I am very dark and everything—I have a side that is very romantic that I show to very few people.”

Riccardo Tisci on being inspired by Gianni Versace when creating his FW 2011/ 2012 collection: “Most little children’s obsessions are robots and Barbie dolls. My obsession as a kid was the Versace house. I used to save up my pocket money to buy Versus shirts. I was that obsessed! I still am today such a big fan. In fact, the only fashion show that I went to in my life was for Versace, when I went to the men’s show, and it gave me great pleasure that you invited me. If I am in fashion, it is really due to very few designers that I admire—not because I don’t like the rest, or that the rest are not beautiful, but because I am very selective. I adore Versace.”

Riccardo Tisci on how hard it was to find his own Givenchy woman: “When I arrived here at Givenchy, there was a lot of confusion. Before me, there had been some great geniuses—John Galliano and Alexander McQueen are great masters. They marked history. But when I came in after Julien Macdonald, it was also a bit of a mess, because not even I could understand what the true identity of Givenchy was. Everyone thinks that it’s only Audrey Hepburn, but there is a whole other world behind it. So in the end, I closed all the doors and didn’t let anyone in so I could find it for myself.”

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Color Trend #1: Soft colors. It is essential to remember that in autumn and winter colors shouldn’t be as bright as they are in spring and summer. But it in no way means you have to go black, grey and brown. You can choose any color you like but make sure it is more subdued rather than flashy. Or you can opt for soft hues including lavender, cantaloupe, spindrift, or honeydew.

Missoni Fall/Winter 2011/ 2012 collection is the best demonstration of the delicate color scheme. Even pieces which are made to be androgynous look feminine in these tones.

Garments in soft colors are stylish and elegant. They look sexy without being too aggressive.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Color Trend #2: Mood-improving bright details. If you think soft hues are dull there is another great color trend for you to choose – bright details. Add bright accessories to you look, like scarves, bags or hats, find a great-looking pair of boots, or go for one vibrant item that will become the focus of your attire. Be smart to keep the balance. Too many vivid colors in one look in summer is playful and interesting, but in winter it looks vulgar.

Keep wearing your lemon pieces (You have bought a few for Spring/ Summer 2011, right?) as this color is still hot. Or go for deeper tones.

Orange color trend is timely as well but be careful with it. Stay away from total orange look unless it is the only thing which can make you feel good. Orange is cool when you know how to make it look cool.

Magenta is very beautiful but as with orange there is quiet a fine line between looking fantastic and tasteless wearing it. Be wise.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Color Trend #3: Burgundy. If you want color but believe orange, lemon and magenta are too much for you try burgundy. It looks good on almost anyone and adds glamour to the appearance. This color is luxurious and there is hardly a way to spoil your look with it.

Grape can be an alternative for burgundy. Burberry grape looks the best.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Color Trend #4: Shiny colors. For special event you might want something shining. Go for it! Special events need special dressing. But keep a few rules of wearing sparkling clothing in mind to stay in style.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Color Trend #5: Midnight blue. Midnight blue is always safe no matter where you go: office, party, shopping, etc. Play with it, experiment and surprise your friends!

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Color Trend #6: Neutral colors. These colors are always fashionable and designers seem to never get tired of creating pieces in neutral hues. It’s simple: neutrals can stay with you forever, they are versatile and can be easily combined with other pieces, both neutral or bright.

Black is the best neutral. It’s slimming, elegant and chic. No one can make a mistake by wearing black. LBD is the great example of this color’s versatility.

White plays a spectacular contrast with black as with plenty of other hues. And it looks so sweet without any other colors.

If white looks wonderful but is very unpractical in terms of wearing stone lacks the latter and celebrates the first. Accessorize your stone garments and look best in those.

Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 Color Trend #7: Prints. In Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 season prints play a significant role. They dilute the monotone scheme and leave a great field for experiment. The safest option is to combine printed items with monotone ones. However, if you are confident about your styling skills you might want to try to coordinate various patterns in one look. Betsey Johnson offers us to combine leopard and plaid. And she even mixes leopard and python.

Leopard and python prints have been trendy for many seasons in succession. And we are actually a bit too tired of these but designers believe they can stay with us for at least one more fashion period – Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012.

Plaid is classic which you can update with modern colors.

Versace bags look fantastic featuring this wonderful print on blue, red and beige background. Most of the pieces come with long shoulder straps but can be worn as clutches as well.

Shoes from Versace Spring/ Summer 2011 range look nice. Some of the styles come patterned while others are monotone but adorned with rivets.

Sunglasses are too bright for me, but generally look great. It’s just a matter of taste.
