Korean-American fashion designer Doo-Ri Chung wants to launch a lower-priced fashion line, which will be her second collection.
The line will be presented next year and will demonstrate many of her signatures: the jersey, the draping, patterns, cuts and the feminine silhouettes — in fabrics suitable for every one for every day.

The raw will not be labeled Doo.Ri, though the designer is still deciding on a name.
I have been thinking about this for a really long time,” Chung said, “Within my own collection there is a great need to have a wider price range. A second line allows me to do that.”
She thanks Stella Ishii, president of The News showroom, for emboldening her to create the collection.
The collection will be carried by The News, and released for fall distribution.
Dresses from her first wholesale range from $395 to $895, tops from $250 to $675. But dresses from the new line will be sold at a price ranging from $170 to $200 and tops from $80 to $119, outerwear from $425 to $825, and knitwear from $275 to $825.
We are really hoping we can reach a broader range of stores,” Chung said. “I can’t really sell my main collection to a lot of wonderful stores. At that price point, your distribution can be completely broadened.”
The line will also feature leather jackets, leather leggings, silk screened T-shirts, silk-screened tees and jersey dresses. Jersey outerwear will cost $200 to $325, and leather jackets will be sold for $475.
Many designers are launching their second collections. Thakoon is launching a new abstract line called Thakoon Addition, which will offer less costly takes on some of the designer’s signature tune designs. Tops will sell for around $495, and dresses will go for $825.

Every time I tired to bring them into the main collection, I feel that there is a disconnect. This was a great outlet for me, with clothes that my friends could wear to work or on weekends” Chung tells WWD.
Tuleh’s Bryan Bradley is also launching a lower-priced line called Bryan Bradley in 2009.
Zac Posen wants to launch a secondary collection with a to-be-determined launch date.
