At the Oscars stars tried to look as glamorous as possible wearing long sumptuous dresses, expensive jewelry and accessories. For 2010 Vanity Fair Oscar party held at Sunset Tower on Sunday (March 7) they went more modest and unpretentious though outfits still looked chic.
Kate Beckinsale looked gorgeous in a shimmering assymetrical dress complimented by Neil Lane diamond earrings and a large gold diamond platinum cocktail ring.

Katy Perry returned to her glamorous side. The I Kissed a Girl singer appeared on the red carpet wearing a perfect Zuhair Murad gown, H. Stern jewels, Judith Leiber clutch and Jimmy Choo shoes.

Kristen Stewart did her best to look good but dresses definitely don’t fit her. the young actress sported a midnight blue strapless dress by Monique L’Hullier.

Natalie Portman looked beautiful in her short metallic Lanvin dress, Tiffany jewels and Aldo shoes.

Every glam event is a chance to show off oneself and often our stars use this rare opportunity to attract attention. The Oscar ceremony is one of the most expected, not only because we all want to know which films are considered the best but also to see what most glamorous women wear to it.
It is a common fact that to stand out at the Oscars is always a very difficult thing. But some women know very well how to do it. And one of these is definitely Jennifer Lopez. The singer appeared on the red carpet wearing a sumptuous strapless gown by Armani Prive.

By the way, Armani creations were extremely popular. Amanda Seyfried also wore a dress by this designer and looked absolutely gorgeous.

Vera Farmiga chose a more colorful dress from Marchesa, a real red-carpet label. The actress looked perfect.

Anna Kendrick was the embodiment of youth and chic as she wore a gorgeous Elie Saab gown to the event.

Sandra Bullock, who was named the Best Actress, sported a fabulous Marchesa frock. She opted for a silver clutch to match her outfit.

It turns out Victoria Beckham’s dresses become more and more popular. Elle Macpherson, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Trudie Styler and now Sarah Jessica Parker opt for VB frocks to wear at glamorous events. Isn’t that the proof Posh has a designing talent and she finally found her niche?

Sarah Jessica Parker was invited as a guest to the ceremony to witness President Obama presenting the National Medal of Arts and National Humanities in Washington. It was a great honour for the actress and she was very particular when choosing the outfit for the event. She obviously made the right choice. The dress looked beautiful, stylish and very elegant on her!

It must be difficult to appear at a few events that follow one after the other. But some of our favorite celebrities did have to, as on Sunday they celebrated BAFTA 2010 and yesterday (February 22) Elle Style awards 2010 were held in London.

Kristen Stewart was one of those who attended this event. The actress wore a Pucci Origami Strapless Wool Dress that looked good on her. Kristen felt happy at the ceremony as she was named the Woman of the Year.

Naomi Campbell looked fantastic in Alexander McQueen’s dress and a pair of perfect black heels. The supermodel received the Outstanding Contribution award for all her charity job.

Leona Lewis looked classy in a black frock complimented with a black hat, lace fingerless gloves and beige shoes. The attire was gorgeous but it seems to me Leona looks older in it.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen looked beautiful and trendy in their outfits probably created by themselves.

It was a big event yesterday (February 21) – British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTA) 2010 – held at the Royal Opera House in London, England. Lots of celebrities attended it and some got their trophies. (Read the list of winners!) But everyone looked beautiful. And my task now is to show you the dresses I liked the most on the red carpet.
I’ll begin with Kristen Stewart. She wasn’t the best-dressed and her look seemed unfinished but she is the star of Twilight, the saga I liked so much, so she is the first on my list. Kristen looked good in short white strapless Chanel dress and a pair of matching heels. I do think she looks better in jeans.

Kate Winslet couldn’t miss this exciting event and appeared on the red carpet looking elegant and classy. I liked her black dress with lacy insets very much!

Vera Farmiga looked brilliant in a white assymetrical Marchesa gown. The dress was so cute that Vera was an absolute stand out for me!

Maybe with Sarah Jessica Parker as the creative director the whole style of Halston label will change to the better. I can’t say that I don’t like the outfits they make, it’s just that they lack glamour. And SJP is certainly a person who knows how to add that.

Speaking about Halston collection for Autumn/Winter 2010/2011 unveiled during New York Fashion Week I can say that it includes lots of very comfortable things that look good, those items which modern women want to see in their wardrobes – beautiful and practical.

A few cocktail dresses with cutouts draped beautifully, elegant trouser suits and light coats with fur sleeves and hemlines looked nice and wearable. However, some items were far from being perfect. For instance a yellow cape dress was a complete mess as well as the headwear pieces some of the models had to wear.

Evening gowns deserve special attention, especially the red halterneck with a silver decoration. This was fabulous!

Monique Lhuillier Autumn/Winter 2010/2011 collection that the designer presented during New York Fashion Week is all about dresses, classy and uber feminine. No trousers have ever appeared on the catwalk and that was good as we could enjoy the ingenuine beauty of a woman, delicate and luxurious.

The show was opened by a number of short embellished dresses that would look fantastic on a young girl with slender legs. A few coats appeared but they seemed to be out of place among those chic special-occasion frocks.

The red mini with an embellished trippet was a real hit as well as a black dress with millions of roses attached to it. A halter in blood red dripped with gold leather chain embroidery deserves special praise as it looked absolutely gorgeous.

The parade finished with a set of fabulous gowns that were obviously created for awards events like Oscars and Golden globes. Good job, Monique!!!

The collection Victoria Beckham unveiled during New York Fashion Week on February 14 was received very warmly. It looks like Posh has finally got the acceptance she had striven for.
It was her fourth collection and the most successful one, to be sincere. Dresses and high platform shoes were the focus and no wonder why, it’s just what the designer wants to see and wear herself.

Victoria started the show by greeting everyone, which was very different from other presentations, and as the fashion parade continued she was telling about the collection, commenting on styles and designs.
She said:
I feel the clothes express how my own personal style has evolved, more relaxed, a little more slouchy, but still structured.’

The dresses looked perfect – classy, chic and sophisticated, the ones for red carpets and special events. You will hardly ever see someone wearing such a frock in the street.
Lots of draping appeared throughout, on backs and necklines. Puffed hemlines along with rather strict silhuettes looked pretty. Some gowns were created in the style of trenchcoats, so much loved by Victoria. Long slits on dresses added sexuality to designs.

A few frocks came loose in waist area and this made me a bit puzzled because I’ve never seen Posh rocking such an outfit.
The color pallette included deep reds, blues and greens, as well as nudes and a dazzling pale gold.

Miley Cyrus feels compassionate to Haiti sufferers and wants to help. So she has put her Herve Leger Grammy dress on Internet auction eBay.com to raise money for charity efforts in Haiti.
The dress she wore on Sunday in Los Angeles was chic. It was short, teal-coloured and looked perfect on the young singer.

Cyrus says she is desperate to do whatever she can to help.
She tells Usa Today:
I’m going to auction it (the dress) off on eBay for the Red Cross. It’s the little things you can do. I think it’s really important that everybody come together because disaster relief isn’t just now. It’s how we’re going to help years from now. We have to restore an entire place. It just can’t be one person, one foundation, one group of people. All people have to come together”.
Beside selling her dress, Miley is joining Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie to record We Are The World to benefit charity for Haiti.

One of the most awaited glam events – the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards – was held yesterday, on January 31, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
While some were burning with anticipation of who was to win, others, including me, were looking forward to seeing fashion choices of the evening. And, sincerely speaking, we were not disappointed!

Lots of beautifully dressed ladies arrived to the event and sashayed on the red carpet showing off themselves.

The outfit I liked the most was worn by eccentric Lady GaGa. Custom-made Giorgio Armani Prive gown looked fabulous! I really mean it. I loved the dress! Of course it was far from ordinary but the color was nice and the design wasn’t aggressive. Rather it brought some unexpected femininity to GaGa’a look, something that she usually misses. The shoes were shocking though. They looked great but were hardly safe to wear.

Jennifer Lopez looked stunning in an unusual silver-white gown, white peep-toe shoes and absolutely sumptuous bracelets!

Lea Michele glammed up the red carpet sporting a sexy black one-shoulder dress with a feathered hemline and matching black heels.

Next comes gorgeous Marisa Miller in a snowy white vintage Gucci mini-dress and black Yves Saint Laurent pumps. The supermodel looked perfect! I’ve got one question though, why does she always choose short white dresses for red carpet events?
