Lindsay Lohan thinks her name on clothes makes those cost cheaper. The actress-turned designer understands that her personal problems and the fact she’s been to rehab a few times disconsider her a lot.

She told America’s OK! magazine:
I’m the first to say that in certain situations, my name will cheapen things because that’s what people have made of it.”
The 23-year-old had to deny plenty of rumours she had been blacklisted from New York Fashion Week. Besides, she suffered the embarrassment of her designs for fashion house Emanuel Ungaro getting criticized by fashion experts.
However, designing is what she finds very attractive for her. She even calls the effect it has on her as “therapeutic”. Creating outfits gives Lindsay the opportunity to express herself.
She said:
Fashion is something that’s so expressive in so many ways – within film, within music, within daily life. It expresses how you feel that day and the character you’re playing. I really appreciate and respect it. It’s something that’s not only a hobby of mine, but it makes me feel good. It’s really therapeutic for me, actually – the designs.”

Mounir Moufarrige has decided to stop working at Emanuel Ungaro brand. The Lebanese-born businessman realized he needed to concentrate on his other business.

Mounir had been the chief executive officer of the fashion label since 2006. He has recently felt huge pressure due to the fact he had brought Lindsay Lohan in as ‘artistic director’ of the brand. As you remember Lindsay’s debut was seriously criticized.
Moufarrige will focus on other work now but he will still be a member of the company’s strategic committee and have an opportunity to oversee certain projects and decisions.
Marie Fournier has been selected as Ungaro’s new general manager and since now on she will coordinate all the work in the company.

We have written that Lindsay Lohan’s involvement into the work of a famous brand Ungaro was critisized a lot by both the team and customers. Even the founder of the house Emanuel Ungaro couldn’t stay aside and expressed his discontent with the choice of a celebrity. And according to rumours the actress was to be asked to leave the label.

However, Ungaro’s CEO Mounir Moufarriage slammed rumours Lindsay is to be axed by the French fashion house. He insists she is still very much involved into the creative process.
He commented:
As we speak, she is in New York in shoots with Ungaro. The decision to appoint her was controversial, but then fashion is controversial anyway, and you need some novelties and you need to test some new ideas.”
He also told the press Lindsay’s association with the label has increased sales even though the Spring-Summer 2010 collection is not yet available in stores.
He told WWD:
There are some girls out there that whenever they move, whatever they wear, they attract attention, even if they make mistakes. It’s all publicity. We’ve got a celebrity and it’s a new concept, which we’re going ahead with. Ungaro, let’s recognise it, was a dormant brand, and now everybody’s talking about it today, so the level of awareness has improved greatly.”
Well, bad PR is good too, at least it ‘improves the level of awareness’. I’m glad Lindsay is no more under fire.

Passions run high with Lindsay and Ungaro fashion house.
It has been rumoured that Ungaro’s chairman is desperate to undo a contract with the actress as soon as possible.

As you probably remember Lindsay has been a fashion consultant for the label and helped to create the Spring-Summer 2010 collection. The line was called ‘a disaster’ by fashion journalists and experts. When the collaboration continued it caused a row with chairman Asim Abdullah and CEO Mounir Moufarrige.
A source told the New York Post:
Asim wants her out now. Department stores in the States have already told him they won’t be picking up the line if Lohan remains a collaborator, so it’s a serious issue. Mounir wants to keep her on because it was his idea to hire her in the first place. He’s trying to save face.”
The founder of the label, Emanuel Ungaro, who has no contact with the fashion house since his 2005 departure, said hiring Lindsay was a huge mistake.
He commented:
I am furious, but I can’t do anything about it. It is in the process of losing its soul.”
Well, this information hasn’t been confired by the label in any way. A spokesperson for Ungaro’s chairman denied any rift between him and Mounir.
The representative said:
Such an insinuation is totally absurd.”
But there is no smoke witout a fire. It is quite possible that the actress will be asked to leave. If it happens I’ll feel really sorry for her. To tell you the truth, I do feel sorry for her even now. iIt must be a real pressure to hear these things every day. Hope she won’t act the fool.

Emanuel Ungaro is furious with Lindsay Lohan’s involvement into the work of the house.
The designer is worried but cannot do anything. He doesn’t have any control over the label he had originated since he sold it in 2005.

As you know Lindsay’s debut in designing wasn’t much succefful, it was even named “a disaster”. Fashion experts slammed the Spring-Summer 2010 collection the 23-year-old helped to make as “underwhelming” and “non-skilled”.
However, the actress called it ‘a dream come true’.

Emanuel Ungaro feels angry but helpless.
He said:
I’m furious but there isn’t a thing I can do. I have absolutely no link with that house.”
Ungaro is in the process of losing its soul. That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls.”

It’s a shame to speak about such things but Lindsay Lohan didn’t receive any payment for her work for Emanuel Ungaro. The girl was invited to be a fashion consultant but all she got in the result was free clothes.

Ungaro is not paying her at all to be a consultant for them,” a source tells. “Her team is working to get Lindsay some form of payment from the fashion house, but right now they will only give her free clothes.”
It has even been claimed the actress had to pay for her flight to Paris and hotel, too.
The deal is perfect for them – they have nothing to lose, even though the clothes were not a big hit,” the insider says.
The 23-year-old actress worked on designs with the fashion house’s new head designer Estrella Archs for three weeks. The collection unveiled during Paris Fashion Week was unfortunately a failure.
The line was described by Lindsay as “a dream come true” but fashion journalists and experts called it “underwhelming” and “non-skilled”.
The girl was obviously frustrated with the reception but defiantly said:
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I didn’t expect everyone to be completely loving the collection.”
And she isn’t going to stop.
She says:
I am going back to Paris for the next collection. It’s already in January. I thought it was in March.”
The line was really a bad one but I can’t even imagine what Lindsay feels now reading all these remarks about working for free clothes. I feel sorry for her. Hope the next collection will be more successful and Ungaro will pay her good money.

Emanuel Ungaro designers usually do a great job to make exquisite clothes the brand is famous for.
This time I can’t see so much creativity involved from both the head brand’s designer Estrella Archs and the artistic advisor Lindsay Lohan.

Of course they didn’t have lots of time – about a month or so – but for a real talent this would be enough to make a huge impressive show. This didn’t work for Engaro though.

The collection had been described as youthful and bright but in the result we saw tasteless patterns and for-small-girls accessories.
Occasional furs were better to avoid as well as those heart-shaped multicolored headwear pieces. Even the shoes looked too simple.

Although it wouldn’t be quite fair if I said that all the items in the range were plain and uninteresting. Some were nice and looked modern and edgy, for example, the strapless fuchsia plissé minidress that opened the collection. Besides, a few one-shoulder frocks looked good.

Fashion industry is really getting tough to enter successfully if you’ve got too little of a talent. Lidsay Lohan has been the latest to feel that. Her debut designs have been unveiled during Paris Fashion Week today.
As we have told you before Emanuel Ungaro hired the actress to work together with the brand head designer Estrella Archs in creating Autumn/Winter collection.
But as it turned out Lindsay wasn’t the perfect choice.

Commenting on the collection, Hilary Alexander, fashion director at the Daily Telegraph, said:
The best that can be said is that they tried.’
Well, the collection wasn’t bad but it wasn’t fantastic either. Lindsay has no experience in designing and probably she doesn’t feel right about fashion. So I think her advice shouldn’t have been so relevant if Emanuel Ungaro wanted to do well.

Although the collection didn’t seem to be too much exciting Lohan’s appearance did make a big buzz. The 23-year-old turned up dressed in a white mini dress and red stiletto heels. She looked impresive but was very afraid her fashion try could be a failure. The star admitted that the show has been ‘the hardest thing I’ve ever done’.

Esteban Cortazar is not going to leave the House of Emanuel Ungaro despite the fact he doesn’t like the idea of Lindsay Lohan joining the label as a design consultant.mill

The 25-year-old head designer – who started working with ‘Ungaro’ in December 2007 when he was just 23 – does not have any plans to leave. Speaking about the rumors at the Ungaro menswear show, he told:
For now, I am here.”
Let me remind you that earlier this month it was reported that 22-year-old actress – who is already in the list of those who try themselves in designing – was in discussions in Paris to become the label’s “creative consultant”.
It was claimed Esteban was furious with the news.
Esteban is threatening to leave the company if they bring Lindsay on as a consultant. It has been a revolving door of designers there and if he leaves, his team will go with him,” the insider said.
I’m happy everything is all right now. ‘Ungaro’ could lose a really talented designer.
