Mullet dresses look fabulous. They are feminine, sexy and stylish. They make you look like a princess but you never look over the top. They are versatile. And they have become a trendy hit again.

Mullet dresses are easy to wear. But a few rules still have to be followed to create the best impression. First, you have to decide how long you want your front hemline to be. If you have beautiful slender legs you can choose a mini version (but don’t go too mini if you want to look appropriate!). Or you can opt for a longer hemline to leave just your sandals visible in case you feel insecure about legs or just want little exposure down there to make people focus on something else (your neckline, for instance).

Your second step is to decide on the length of your back hemline. You can try a long train for an evening occasion or shorter variant for a cocktail party or a casual look.

Next think of the actual design of the dress you would like to wear. It can be simple and sculpted, or chic, full and flouncy. You can even consider rocking a huge puffy mullet dress (remember Sarah Jessica Parker’s dress by Alexander McQueen at the Sex And The City 2 premiere).

The last but not the least thing to consider is the type of shoe to wear with a mullet dress. Heels are the only option and the higher the better. Flats don’t work with mullets.

After all Spring/ Summer 2012 shows I looked through my head was spinning. Every designer tried his best to surprise us and make us want to wear his creations. However, all of them worked with the same set of ideas – the trends – which we have to know to avoid getting lost in the carousel of styles, colors and fabrics.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion Trend #1: Cropped tops. Start getting ready for spring right now as cropped tops are going to be very trendy during the season. So, your tummy has to be perfect. While cropped tops seem to be very casual they can come in evening outfits as well. Remember the black ensemble Gwyneth Paltrow wore at 2011 Emmys?

Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion Trend #2: Bra tops. Bra tops are a daring alternative for cropped tops. They reveal more flesh and look more tempting. So, get ready for heads to be turned at you. Simple and monotone, bright and printed, decorated with unusual stitching or cut out in the strangest way – bra tops will be hotter as ever.

It comes in a variety of colors and the print itself has become smaller and more delicate. Along with leopard we see snakeskin and crocodile skin but other patterns are even trendier – those featuring lizards, cats and birds.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion Trend #7: Black-and-white. Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion Trend #11: Cold shoulders. We don’t remember who invented the cold shoulder but we should say ‘thank you’ to him as these shoulders are amazing. They make the entire outfit look relaxed and seductive.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion Trend #16: Peplum. Peplums have been seen a lot on the red carpet before, and now there are many of them on the runway featured on dresses, skirts, and trousers. Peplums look lovely but there is a problem with them as well. They add volume to your hips. It is all right if you are slim and don’t mind a little extra puff in that part of your body. In case you consider it a problem area peplums are to be avoided.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion Trend #17: Pleats. Pleats were trendy last spring and summer, they have somehow stayed with us during fall and winter and, to our surprise, pleats are to be still popular during Spring/ Summer 2012 season. But they won’t be as girly any more. Pleats of the Spring/ Summer 2012 are fewer, larger and softer. They come on dresses mostly and give those a womanly look.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion Trend #18: Print mix. Just like pleats print mix trend has come to us from the previous seasons. And it has also transformed. Now when designers mix prints they think of harmony though some still win from the contrast.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion Trend #19: Rounded shoulders. This trend is as ridiculous as the low-crotch one that we finally kissed goodbye in summer. Rounded shoulders don’t make you look leaner or sexier, they do quite the opposite thing. Still, it is a trend and there will be ladies to wear it.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion Trend #20: Sheer clothing. Sheerness became trendy long ago when someone decided that revealing too much flesh was great. Now we take it pretty normal and even like it. For Spring/ Summer 2012 fashion season designers offer us to wear sheer skirts which can be both floor or knee-length. They also suggest us trying transparent toppers. And if before people wore these to cover themselves from the rain from now on these would be worn no matter what the weather was.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion Trend #21: Summer suits. Summer suits can hardly be worn to a real office but they look so smart and stylish that ladies will still rock them. Made in a variety of colors and prints summer suits can come trimmed with lace which looks very cute. And while designers team those up with shirts and ties you can experiment with different items in your wardrobe to create the unique look.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion Trend #22: Total white. If for winter designers shows us the total black look for summer they reasonably offer the total white look.

Spring/ Summer 2012 Fashion Trend #23: Wide shorts. During last summer we all wore pleats and shorts. And we will wear both again. But pleats became softer and shorts got wider.
